If you're looking for Bodyshop alternatives

I thought it might be good to have a thread for alternatives for those who have ditched the BS.

Even better if we could recommend small independent businesses.

I loved their Chamomile cleansing butter/balm so need to find a replacement if anyone has any ideas.

I made my own cleansing balm in an old tin and it was just as good as the body shop one. And its an easy thing to make you dont have to be all country cottage, Kirsty Allsopp. Theres plenty of recipes online :)

ChequerBoard · 16/06/2020 16:42

Any good alternatives to their Body Yoghurts? I love the texture as they sink into the skin quickly so I can dress very soon after applying but are really effective and leave my skin silky soft.

What else is similar??

jeaux90 · 16/06/2020 19:44

I like the body yogurt too but not buying body shop anymore after the JK shitshow. I've gone back to Aveeno.

TableNiner · 16/06/2020 22:33

The Ginger Shampoo??

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 16/06/2020 22:35

I love the hemp body butter

But I can’t buy BS shop stuff any more

AntennaReborn · 16/06/2020 22:37

I like Aveeno for body lotions and creams.

Definitely not buying BodyShop anymore, I am on team JK!

OhCantThinkOfANewName · 16/06/2020 22:41

@TableNiner I’ve brought the ginger shampoo from savers today for £1.... will let you know how it goes Smile

Hedgehogblues · 16/06/2020 22:43

Who is JK?

mrslebon · 16/06/2020 22:44

JK Rowling

WellTidy · 16/06/2020 22:44

More expensive unfortunately, but alternatives are:

Elemis pro collagen cleansing balm (you only need a bit though)

Rituals Sakura body cream is as light as the body yoghurts and smells lovely (of cherry blossom). The Aveeno apricot and honey body yoghurt I found quite sticky (but the smell was fine, not oaty like most Aveeno)

Crabtree and Evelyn hand creams are nicer than body shop, I think. Tk max normally sells 6 x 30ml in a set for £15

AntennaReborn · 16/06/2020 22:47

A great face cleanser is the Squalane cleanser by The Ordinary

SarahTancredi · 16/06/2020 22:50

Any ideas the best sub fir the almond milk and honey hand cream?

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 16/06/2020 22:52

L'Occitane hand creams are good

PrimalLass · 16/06/2020 22:55

I'd only just discovered the Vitamin C peel mask but I will undiscover it again.

Saw this and it seemed likely.

SuckingDieselFella · 16/06/2020 22:56

L'Occitane everything is good.

I'm another one who needs an alternative to the ginger shampoo. Been using it since I was a teenager.

ChequerBoard · 16/06/2020 23:32

Also need an alternative to the strawberry shower gel - it's DS13's 'thing', he's always loved and frankly anything that encourages him to wash has to be good!

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 17/06/2020 07:55

There's a tea tree shampoo made by Avalon that might be a decent alternative to the ginger shampoo. Or Holland and Barrett's range.

whenwillthemadnessend · 17/06/2020 08:19

I like nspa shower gel and matching lotions. The scent isn't quite as strong but the price tag is hugely cheaper and it's not BS

Loads of flavours in Asda.

ExpletiveDelighted · 17/06/2020 08:20

Ginger shampoo and conditioner are my stumbling block too.

LorenzoVonMatterhorn · 17/06/2020 08:21

Not sure asda should be getting our business now either!

I need alternative make up that is vegan and not a MLM scheme. Any ideas?

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 17/06/2020 08:22

I love Faith in Nature products.
They smell as natural and strong as body shop ones.

I've also bought grapefruit essential oil to put in plain unscented shower gel because that's one of my favourite products from there.

Vinosaurus · 17/06/2020 08:24

Any ideas about alternatives for their all-in-1 face base? I've been using it since I was 14 (now 42!).

redskittleorangeskittle · 17/06/2020 08:27

SBC do a ginger shampoo.

SerendipitySunshine · 17/06/2020 08:29

Lots of the Lush products are similar. Their Charity Pot is my favourite body lotion. Their shampoo bars and shower gels are great too. And yes, Faith in Nature is great. Their orange and grapefruit shower gel is amazing. Cheap too.

Palavah · 17/06/2020 08:31

I'd love an alternative to the coconut body butter
