And do you think it would have that heart stopping simplicity which I see in it, anyway, in real life? It would just be for a small register office winter wedding.

Ooo I like it... but I think it would only look nice on the right person and would be quite hard to pull off. I love the high neckline but I think it’s the sleeves make it a bit of a statement. Very similar to the handmaids tale dresses as another poster mentioned!

Lifeaback · 16/05/2020 10:03

Love the one @NameChange84 posted! Elegant and classy like the other one but a bit more stylish

Megan2018 · 16/05/2020 10:03

Honestly? No, I don’t like it.
But you should order and try it, wedding dresses should be what you like and bugger anyone else

cansu · 16/05/2020 10:04

Looks really ordinary for me.

cansu · 16/05/2020 10:05

The one namechange84 posted is much nicer. Simple but also stylish.

Hopefulin2020 · 16/05/2020 10:10

Bit pricier but have you considered sezane? That sort of French understated chic for a simple wedding comes to mind with their dresses and they have a small 'could be bridal' range like this m.sezane.com/en/product/collection-printemps-1005/megan-dress?cou_Id=2324

Might be as their autumn collection comes out there is something with longer sleeves

OhCaptain · 16/05/2020 10:15

Oh now both the recently posted dresses are gorgeous!

NameChange84 · 16/05/2020 10:19

For a Registry Office wedding with a bit of a retro vibe I also quite like these. But obviously VERY different to the first dress so maybe not your thing OP...

Just as an aside, I don't know how long the dress has been on there, but ASOS say they're trying to observe social distancing by just putting an impression of the clothes on model pictures. So I suppose companies might be struggling with the usual pictures on real people.

Wetcappuccino · 16/05/2020 10:31

I love this. If you style this correctly it could be so chic.

GinWithRosie · 16/05/2020 10:31

Sorry OP but I'm not a fan. I guess if you have one of those exquisite/rakish (gaunt) quirky model type looks, and you are extremely stylish, you'd maybe pull it off.

I'd look like a cross between an Amish Nun doing a shift on a COVID ward 🤦‍♀️

pilates · 16/05/2020 10:31

I agree op long sleeves are classy on a wedding dress.

dontgobaconmyheart · 16/05/2020 10:40

It's cheap and easy to return so you may as well order it and return it.

I'm not a big fan, It looks a bit like a heritage nurses uniform that needs a pinny going over it and I can imagine it looking awful when it creased as well as being quite severe in cut and colour. I like the idea but think the cut is too severe to ever give off that effortless vintage effortless prettiness.

I'd look at Sezane (the megan dress is pretty), Anthropologie, the Ghost bridal collection etc and see what you think.

Right time of year for white/cream dresses though OP so you should be spoiled for choice!

OVienna · 16/05/2020 10:48

Could look absolutely exquisite.

WhatInFreshHell · 16/05/2020 10:50

It's really pretty OP...and very classy!!!

ChipsyChopsy · 16/05/2020 10:58

I like it. You could check out BHLDN for some sale accessories.

DianaT1969 · 16/05/2020 11:01

Sorry, not a fan. It's 97% polyester and 100% polyester lining too, so I wouldn't personally feel comfortable in that all day.

Drybird2020 · 16/05/2020 11:23

I think it would work if it was immaculately made in a high end fabric, but you won't get that for the price.

MitziK · 16/05/2020 11:28

From seeing it as presented, I think it's in need of a full length apron with and a white headscarf - and you'd need specialist corsetry to get the line right.

If you're into Edwardian Costumery, it could work, but if not, you need to look elsewhere.

FAQs · 16/05/2020 12:37

My god there has been some bitchy comments, clearly a few posters have yet to reach maturity.

Anyway it’s a 1950s tea style wedding dress it could be very elegant, hard to tell from the photos.

Incrediblytired · 16/05/2020 12:40

I think it’s lovely, very stylish.

YgritteSnow · 16/05/2020 12:40

I think those Gina Bacconi dresses are quite frumpy actually and more suited to mother of the bride (if not white obvs) than the actual bride.

ZaraW · 16/05/2020 12:48

As mentioned previously it also looks like my communion dress.

NameChange84 · 16/05/2020 13:00

@YgritteSnow Hmm maybe.
I’d style it with high strappy heels, a pillbox hat with a birdcage veil and immaculate makeup, red lip, sleek updo or retro waves. So that would hopefully eliminate any frumpiness.
