Do you think I’d suit red/auburn hair?? Photo inc

I’ve been highlighted blonde for Years. I think I once had my hair a kind of henna red when I was maybe 17. I’ve recently box dyed dd’s hair with a mid golden brown, and it’s kind of come out a glossy gingery auburn colour. She’s much paler than me. I wonder whether it would suit my colouring or not or whether I’d massively regret it. What do you think?? Excuse haggard face Grin

YES I think you'd look gorgeous.
I'd go for a deep burnish auburn.

Aquamarine1029 · 14/05/2020 18:01

It's a tough one. Personally, I think a warmer, buttery blond would look really fabulous. It would go with your lovely skin tone. I think ashy blond can be rather ageing sometime.

cosmo30 · 14/05/2020 18:03

I think you would suit a deep red

Shmithecat2 · 14/05/2020 18:03

Oh yes, it would look amazing on you!

camsie · 14/05/2020 18:05

I love your current hair colour and think you look really cool!

DramaAlpaca · 14/05/2020 18:07

I've similar skin colouring to you and am naturally dark blonde and auburn works on me. I used to use henna as a teen, which was great fun as you never knew what colour it would turn out! I've only gone auburn once as an adult, when I had disastrous highlights at the hairdresser and they had to cover it up. It actually looked really good, but I'm more 'me' with blonde highlights so I haven't done it since. I say go for it.

PapercraftNinja · 14/05/2020 18:07

I think go for it! You look great but I think an auburn shade would bring out the colour in your eyes

MrsRogerLima · 14/05/2020 18:09

No, your skin tone is too dark. Go a glossy chocolate brown. It will make you look younger too.

Also, I know you didn't ask but I think the septum piercing makes you look hard faced.

Bluntness100 · 14/05/2020 18:10

I think you suit your hair light, I’d go for a warmer caramel/honey blonde if I was you.

ElectricTonight · 14/05/2020 18:15

You'd look great and I love the piercings!

nitgel · 14/05/2020 18:16

I like your current hair too

vengeancer · 14/05/2020 18:17

agree with Mrs - your skin tone is too darf for auburn.

Your current blonde really suits you...

LycraLovingLass · 14/05/2020 18:17

I think it really would suit you. I love the shape of your mouth, I love looking at people's faces!

Bluntness100 · 14/05/2020 18:19

Agree, I don’t think you’ve the skin tone for it either.

You’re attractive, and your piercing doesn’t make you look hard faced (lol) but I’d stay light if I was you.

Kenworthington · 14/05/2020 18:25

Sorry ran off for dinner. Wow I didn’t expect so many replies thanks!
Ok so I think my natural colour has a lot of red in it- it takes HOURS to bleach to this colour. Also, I have quite a sun tan at the moment- lockdown in the sun and nowt else to do !
I don’t suit any kind of yellow tone in my hair hence why I have it ashy /silvery. Yellowy golden tones makes my face look horribly pink.
I’ve tried brown and it’s just mehhh. And almost casts too much shadow over my face iyswim. Just ‘dulls’ me I guess.
I really don’t want that kind of red that’s almost purply you know.
Ha to pp who said my septum makes me look hard faced. I couldn’t give a shit, I love it Grin it’s prob just my natural rbf.

I have naturally red hair, I agree with others who said your skin tone is too dark.

Kenworthington · 14/05/2020 18:26

I also don’t care about looking younger either. I am my age and that’s fine. You’d bloody HATe my tattoos

You're beautiful so could probably carry red off, hell you'd probably look good with a cat on your head, but it's a no from me.
I always look at eyebrows to give a clue and yours are ashy light brown. Your skin has quite red tones which don't always suit red hair.

Mid brown might suit you better but proceed with caution.. box dye results depend on your base colour so results vary. A lot of brown dyes come out extremely dark, almost black. And it might take differently on the bleached bits.
Sorry for all this negativity!

Please post an after pic if you're brave enough to dye. I love a Style and Beauty before and after Smile

Thismorningiam · 14/05/2020 18:27

Yeah would look great!

nitgel · 14/05/2020 18:27

How about a rose gold toner

WhatWouldYouDoWhatWouldJesusDo · 14/05/2020 18:28

You don't have the right skin tone .,.......try that hair colour app that shows you what you'll look like with different colours. It's really good.

LycraLovingLass · 14/05/2020 18:29

You could always go for it and just remover it with Colour B4 if you don't like it.

SmileyClare · 14/05/2020 18:33

Hard faced is an odd expression isn't it? Sort of old fashioned as if women have to look soft and sweet all the time.

I Googled it and it said "showing no affection or sympathy" urban dictionary; She was a right hard bastard. Grin

MrsRogerLima · 14/05/2020 18:34

@Kenworthington you would be surprised.

Kenworthington · 14/05/2020 18:41

@nitgel I have used rose gold and it’s nice but it washes out in literally one shampoo and I ain’t got time for that!!!
