Anyone used Boob or Bust? This can't be right surely???

Just measured my boobs using the Boob or Bust calculator and it tells me I am a 32H!!! How is this even possible? I'm currently wearing a 36F bra and it's a bit too snug under my boobs so how can I possibly be a 32H?

I went from what I thought was a 34B to 32DD and I really only have a handful of boob but the DD bras all fit and are much more comfortable and give better support.

mine came out at 30 HH. i am wearing a 32GG and although the band is tight the cups are a bit big following weight loss so i was expecting a F or G.

doubt crept into my mind with the bend measurement, mine are empty sacks and well, they hang low

I just think a 32 band is way too small for me. It just can't be that accurate.

I thought that but a friend of mine asked me to show her my back one day and the back of the bra was halfway up the middle of my back which isn't correct but was comfortable. That led me to measure properly.

I found a 32 band a bit tight for a little while but soon got used to it. And you need to experiment with different brands. All 32 bands I got used to and could see they looked better, fitted better and gave better support but one bra made me feel like I was wearing a corset and couldn't breathe properly and creaked when I moved a lot so I didn't wear it again.

It must have not been a real 32 band.

What dress size are you? That's usually a good indicator of band size

I'm a 16 and wear a 34 band

I'm roughly a 12, depending where I shop.

When I used the tape measure to do the right fitting I measured just under 32 inches.

if you measure 32 then you don't need 36 bra.

32 inches means 32 band

Try it and be prepared to have your boobs look totally different!

Sorry, that should say my 'tight' fitting measurement was just under 32" and that was with pulling the tape seriously tight. So I'm genuinely a 32 band??? I'm stunned.

The same OP. I've lost weight and was 34c, but found it comfortably wrong!

When I tried 32b it felt too tight but it's true you get used to it and actually, I'm pleased with the overall fit.

But the website you mentioned had me down as 28 or 30 and not 32, and I just can't imagine being tighter then 32. Already I feel like there's a muffin top peeping out the side of the arm, by the shoulders!

As for cup size, The recommended D and E, but it looks humiliatingly like a ten year old trying on mums bra. An A cup is slightly too small and B is probably the best. C is fine if I puff my chest out and push my shoulders out, but as soon as I relax or worse than that, bend over, you see the problem with more cup then boob in the cup.

Try a 34G as a compromise?

Rule of thumb: measure your ribs fairly tightly in inches. Look at that number. The number on your bra should only be 1 or at most 2 away from that.

The problem I have with wearing the'correct' size according to this way of measuring is for some reason they put thick straps on bras that are DD or bigger cup, no matter what the strap measurement. So 32D bras have nice dainty straps, but brands that make 28E bras have ugly wide ones, even though in theory the cups are equivalent sizes.

Look up sister bra sizes. I measured a 32h but knew a 32 band would be uncomfortable so I ordered a 34gg and its amazing the difference it has made. Much more supported and boobs sit much better

The cup feels fine and when I lean forward there's more room in the cup. If I go down to an A cut there won't be much to scoop as you can probably imagine!

Give it a whirl, the size seems shocking but I guarantee it will fit you better. The reason you’re wearing a larger band and finding it is tight is because the cups are too small, so breast tissue ends up making its way elsewhere (round your back, your underarms and under the band area). You should get nearly all your support from the band rather than the straps, you should only be able to get two fingers under the band or pull it out an inch at most.

The old school way of measuring, which is inch measurement +4 is so outdated and just wrong. If you were buying clothes, you don’t measure yourself then buy the size 4 inches bigger, it would be bizarre.

Whenever shops open I’d recommend going to try on different styles in the boob or bust size, I’ve found that some brands and styles fit the natural shape of my boobs better than others. For example, balconette/half cups fit me much better than a plunge or full cup.

The thing about going down back sizes and up cup sizes is that you are essentially switching the fabric from round the back, where you don't need it, into the cups, where you do. It's hard to illustrate with a tape measure because it's a volume measurement, but even if you ran a tape measure i in and out of the cups of a smaller bra with a bigger cup, you'd see there is nowhere near as much difference overall as you might think. If you try a tighter band and don't like it, fair enough, it's your bra, only you can decide what to wear. But if you dismiss it without even trying it, you may well be missing out.

Fwiw, the most uncomfortable bra I have, the one that feels like it constricts my chest, and pokes me under the arms, is a 34 band. It rides up at the back but still feels too tight. I measure 33 under and have worn a 32 for 30 years (and until Bravissimo came on the scene, most bras started at 34, a 32 was like gold dust). I only tried a 34 because they didn't have a 32 and I thought a couple of inches wasn't that big a deal. But I was wrong. I have a bra in a 30HH that is so comfortable that I don't know I'm wearing it. So larger band does not necessarily equal more comfortable.

The band will always feel tight if the cups are too small, because the bra is struggling to reach around the fullest part of your bust.

Order some of the recommended size and take a photo of the old and new bras on under a tight fitting t shirt. I bet you suddenly look like you're standing straighter and your waist becomes more defined. A well fitting bra is the quickest diet you'll ever do
