Anyone used Boob or Bust? This can't be right surely???

Just measured my boobs using the Boob or Bust calculator and it tells me I am a 32H!!! How is this even possible? I'm currently wearing a 36F bra and it's a bit too snug under my boobs so how can I possibly be a 32H?

I agree. Choose what looks and feels best without feeling you have to have a particular size as different styles and brands fit differently.

I love the BOB way of measuring. My bras definitely fit a lot better and give a far better shape. It was tight feeling at first but then I'd been wearing bras too big in the band for years it took a little while to adjust.

As for funding larger sized bras in nice designs I use brastop a lot. Pop in your size and style and theres often a nice range.

You do have to figure out what style if bra works best for you. Balconette is my go too style.

42 GG according to BOB
As my boobs are ratting about in a DD cup, I don't believe this.
I am wearing a 40 band & it does feel too snug, so I will go up to a 42 band & stick with the DD then see how I get on.

The material used in today’s bras are a lot different to when the +4 system was invented . If the tape measure says 32 band then that’s the starting point. Also take into account different brands gone up different sizes just like jeans in different shops. For me I fine curvy Kate bras come up bigger In the band and pour moi smaller. Take the measurements as a starting point.

Also look at where your bra is sitting in your frame. The wire needs to sit right in the crease of your boob. Not below and all the side fat can sometimes be migrated boob tissue. Once you get that one bra that’s fits perfect you really will have that Tada moment. For me ( I’m now a 32h) was when I had no more back pain and no more groves digging into my shoulder s. I tried, but their measurements weren't quite right. So I had to go up a band size or two and down a cup size. I found some members of the community really horrible and rude too. It's their way or the highway. One member actually searched my FB posts which I found creepy. Admin didn't care.

I have difficulty with this, I have a huge back and ribcage and empty boobies. I'm a size 14. My comfiest bras are padded soft ones from Matalan in a 38B (if available) or in a 36B, wearing these my clothes hang smoothly.
But still, I have about an inch of boobs under my arms despite scooping & shoving. The cup wires seem like they should be about 1cm further apart and then the boobs would fit?!
The flattest part of the bra between my boobs I can raise about 1.5-2cm but not much more. BoB had me at 32C, I had 6 boobs which wasn't a good luck....M&S 36B are painfully tight across ribs and shoulders and leave digging-in marks.

pink maybe something with wider wires? I find Curvy Kate has wider ones compared to for example Panache.

I wear 32e, none of my bras have straps wider than 1cm ish, regular sized in other words. Most of my bras are Chantelle or Marie Jo. I only buy when on sale as they are expensive but worth it in my opinion

Forgot to say I am size 12. Was 30e when I was size 10.

Years ago I thought I was a 36c until I went to Rigby and Peller and found out I was 32dd The bras I got where so comfortable in comparison to my old sizing.

I just experimented with my 34b and pulled it right out, I got to 10cm and gave up. Maybe boob or bust are correct and I'm a 28 after all! It's just that the 32 felt pretty tight and I don't want to feel I can't move all day, or find I have train tracks where the straps and band have been all day!

I just tried it and currently wear a 40C but according to the calculator I should wear a 38GG!! Bit of a size difference so a bit sceptical however I'm now curious and going to buy one to see how it fits lol

Dear OP I hadn't heard of boob or bust until I read your post. I just gave it a try and I find I'm a 30FF!
I share your pain because I wear a 36B (which seems to fit Hmm).
I'll try a 30FF for size when we're allowed to shop again... I could do with a laugh! But I work 13hr night shifts & no way am I going to strap myself up all night in something that tight!
I think as with so many things it's what you're comfortable with.

I also used to wear 36 bras and thought they were fitting fine. I need 30. After having the DC and not back in normal bras yet (I was probably 32) I thought I could wear one of mum's 36 ones, how bad can it be. I ended up with such a massive back and shoulder ache - the bra was indeed not tight, it therefore also gave no support.

I really hate the BOB method. It is too fucking tight and that is regardless of what cup size I wear. I cannot bear anything tight.

@Gardenparty123 Thank you for your recommendation, I will measure and investigate.

I tried Boob or Bust a few years ago and I found it hard to believe but they were right. Just buy and try. I like Lingerie Outlet Store, it's well priced branded underwear, I think they buy up end of line stuff.

Can I highlight Amazon Wardrobe

If you're a prime member and want to try multiple sizes of bra, a lot come under "try for free" you can order up to six at once and don't pay until you tell them which you're keeping and which you're returning.

Been using boob or bust measurement for years and worked really well before. Since I stopped bf dd2 I cant seem to get comfy bras though. I don't think it's the measurements, it's the style. I've been left with 2 small empty sacks. Was told to try balcony bras but the wire comes up too high in the front and digs in. Plunge are now my go to, but in a sister size. Bob has me at 30dd but I'll sometimes get a 32d.
What I'm trying to say is, trust the measurements as a starting point but play around with styles and sister sizes to find comfort.

If the tapemeasure says 32, or 31, then wear a 32. If it feel tight, go up a cup size rather than a band size.

If it feel tight, go up a cup size rather than a band size.

I've done that and it doesn't matter what the cup size is, the "correct" band size always feels too tight.

@Merryweather80
The BOB website has nursing bras on their retailers list:
booborbust.com/dd-bra-retailers/
I've bought nursing bras from Belle Lingerie, Poinsettia Style, Hot Milk, and probably one or two others on the list. Also from Bravissimo as sometimes you just can't beat a proper fitting (I would often buy one bra there and then get the same style in a different colour cheaper online).
How old is your baby? In the very early days its best to stick to stretchy non-wired bras, in which case I recommend the Sugar Candy nursing bra. Once you've established breastfeeding and your boobs aren't changing in size quite so much, you can wear a flexiwire nursing bra - Freya, Panache and i think Hot Milk do them. Eventually you can wear normal wired bras and convert them into nursing bras - I got bras with stretchy materials in the cups to allow for small fluctuations in size with full/empty breasts.
My (huge) boobs need scaffolding so they look terrible when I can only wear non-wired bras Sad
