Anyone used Boob or Bust? This can't be right surely???

Just measured my boobs using the Boob or Bust calculator and it tells me I am a 32H!!! How is this even possible? I'm currently wearing a 36F bra and it's a bit too snug under my boobs so how can I possibly be a 32H?

@DontTellThemYourNamePike a 32E has a smaller overbust measurement than a 36C (38in vs 39in) which is probably why it felt tight. Most of the time a bra feels tight because the cups are too small, not the band. Annoyingly some shops like M&S tend to cut their bras small as well...as if bra shopping wasn't difficult enough Envy Grin

It's certainly a minefield. Neither M and S no Bravissimo have dispatched my 30Es that I ordered at the start of the week. Am excited to see if I look any less flat chested in them! I've never been measured IRL as I worry they would be like 'you don't even need a bra'. I'd. be too embarrassed about my non boobs.

I went into M&S today to pickup some different sizes, the woman who served me was a bra fitter for 25 years and told
Me:

I measure 28 so I have to add 4, making it 32 (boom And bust say either 28 or 30). She then said for everyone inch past the band measurement you add another cup size. So that would make me 32D in her books.
I've been wearing 34b and 34c which are both too gaping, and when I tried 32 I couldn't find any size that didn't really gape at the top, especially when I slouch over. She told em everyone gapes at the top of they aren't standing up, but I dunno, why haven't I noticed that before? I also haven't seen it on anyone else.

I've tried 30 b,c,d
32 a, b,c,
34 is just no go.

I'm scared to wear anything that feels right because if I take the bra off at the end of the day and find it's left a red mark on me then I've wasted my
Money.

So hard to know how to play this 😒 and am getting really fed up! I just want a bra that fits me.

Skin
If you want a bra that fits, don't listen to the M&S bra fitters.
Go to Bravissimo (if they are open??!)
If BOB says 28 or 30 those are the band sizes you need to be trying on, don't bother with 32.
Get the band right first and then the cup will be easy.
What cup size does BOB say? 28DD/30D??

Skin use Boob or Bust. Find some 28onch had sizes. Even if you only order one or two due to budget. Wash and rotate. Worth the money.

I have two bras (plus a sports one), and I'd rather that and they fit than a multitude of "34b" bras that every shop seems to think is a normal size.

I put in two measurements in boobandbust, because I was halfway (morning it's less than evening!).

If I put
Tight fit: 28"
Snug: 29
Standing: 31
and leaning: 33

I come out at 28dd

But if I put

Tight fit: 29"
Snug: 30
Standing: 31
and leaning: 33

I come out at 30c.

When I tweak the M&S one ever so slightly it sometimes brings me up as 30c but mostly wants me to be 32 something or another. (C or d)

So I'm bending more toward 30 but can't decide over c or d.

D feels a good fit but the cup feels generally bigger and now my boobs are so skinny I have lost confidence in the cup size.

Skin, first, some red marks are normal. I get red marks from my jeans and even socks, does not mean they don't fit. If course, it should not actually be painful, but tight clothes leave marks and bra has to be tight to do its job.

Second, it might be a style issue. For example I can't wear full cups or moulded plunges any more, they indeed gape - or if I go size down, give me four boobs. Common problem if you have lost some fullness. I can wear half-cups without any issues though.

I think you're right it has to do with certain styles. It's a pain in the arse though, all I want is to go to a shop and try them all on until I find one they fits and leave with something I need.

Deciding ive lost weight at the start of lockdown has been a hard few months waiting to wear clothes that fit!

For nursing bras it can be a good idea to use "flexible sized" nursing bras so if you are not sure on your size it still fits -0 and as yout size changes it is still comfy too. I got a Royce Blossom bra from the nursing bra shop www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk/ . I think Bravado bras are good too.

Okay so these are pictures of different sizes. Which looks right? You can see a b of overhang if you zoom in under the arms.

They're (1) black 32b,
(2) pink 30d
And (3) pink 30c

I'd say the 30d. You look similar to me. It's telling me I'm 30e but they've not arrived yet. Maybe go for a half cup or plunge though?

I'm thinking the middle one because nothing bulges, but it is me or does it look a bit too big and out of proportion to the rest of me?!

I can't find a half cup that doesn't have a slightly erotica look to it with strings on the top etc!

It did sometimes say 28e or 30d, depending on whether I shifted an mere inch here or there. And it does seem to be slightly different at night.

Lol have you been on bravissimo? They do have some normal ones I think! You might find you'll see the top of that one under thin tops.

Ebay has some 30D half cups that don't look too scary www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=30d+half+cup&_sacat=0

I can personally recommend Fantasie Mae, very comfortable and flattering.

Haven’t read the thread yet (but will) just wanted to comment and say boob or bust is amazing! I rocked about with a 36C for years that M&S sized me at. Tried boob or bust which said 32G which I thought was laughable, went to Bravissimo who also put me at a 32G and they’re a perfect fit!

I tried them and was a 26ff. It was sooo uncomfortable. I’m slim but still had skin overhanging because eh strap dug in so much. I wore them for a few days but couldn’t get used to it, felt like it restricted my breathing as it pressed into my rib cage so much.

AnotherEmma · 24/05/2020 16:42

28F would probably be more comfortable

Does anyone here have flared/big ribs? It's really difficult to find a bra just doesn't dig in aswell as have a huge gap between the ribs at the front.

I'm a size 8 top, 34C however it's really not comfortable and I'm sure it's because of my ribs. Has anyone got any suggestions of bra type that might make life more comfy ?

I do @ElectricTonight. It’s not so much the style/shape of the bra as it having really stretchy straps and band.

I tried a 28f because 26 ff doesn’t exist. Even that felt too tight. Ended up with a 30 band. But still better than what I was in which was a 34.

I despair. I measured 30E according to boob or bust. My M and S order finally arrived, and to be fair they were out of stock of a lot of stuff but what I ended up with was 30e plunge (but with quite a lot of cup coverage) this seemed to fit in the band but was too empty in the bottom of the cup. A 30DD padded half cup plunge which had loads of flesh over hanging round the armpits (maybe the band wasn't deep enough) the wire felt like it was digging in and a full cup 32dd which was massive. I've got some bravissimo on the way in 30DD and 30E but I ordered those last Tuesday and they've not even dispatched them yet...
