KiteflyingKat · 12/04/2020 19:58

Another beautiful day here.

Mint Velvet shirt - charity shop

Charity shop belt
Birkenstock- style sandals from TK Maxx last summer

Realised thanks to this thread that I have 2 usable t-shirt. The one I'm wearing today is definitely going to the charity shop when this is over
But as doing nothing but messy things with the kids thought I'd wear it.
T-shirt next
Shorts M&S jeans that went baggy at the knees so I chopped them.
Trainers Ecco (starting to look old but the most comfortable shoes ever walked miles in them on holiday once)

@KiteflyingKat, love the shorts

It's winter here today! Cold and windy. We had a thunder and lightening storm yesterday evening.

Jumper: hush
Jeans: fatface ( not 100% sure about these but they seem like a not quite winter jean)
trajners: air and grace

KiteflyingKat · 13/04/2020 10:21

Thanks @Sooverthemill I’m pleased with the shorts, wanted some that were not too tight and these fit the bill.

I definitely find spring/summer dressing easier than winter.

Much cooler here today.

Woke up feeling a bit crappy today. Will try to cheer myself up. Orange trousers are a good start!

It’s 15C colder today than it was yesterday. So I’ve reverted to boots and a jumper. The jeans were in the charity shop bag, but have been reclaimed. Mainly because I’m planning on painting the study today, so old clothes seem sensible (I’ll change out of the boots and jumper first)

Jumper: Hush
Jeans: Next
Boots: Celtic & Co

@OublietteBravo those jeans are fine.
It is disappointingly cold today.
In pjs still!! And a warm hoody...

Sickoffamilydrama · 13/04/2020 12:21

Trying combinations I never have before, I like this one. I need to wear this jumper more but only have jeans or some bottle green trousers.

Would like a versatile skirt to wear with lots of different tops anyone got any ideas?

Trouser M&S

OublietteBravo · 13/04/2020 12:25

Nice trousers @Sickoffamilydrama.

I’m not sure I can help you on the skirt front. I don’t seem to have many skirts, and the ones I do have tend to be formal work wear.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 13/04/2020 13:19

I was in lounge wear all weekend, so just catching up. Everyone looks fab. It is bloody freezing here. 7 degrees according to my phone. Wearing jumper from Other Stories, navy Whistles barrel leg jeans (I have these in three colours and highly recommend) and white Stan Smiths.

sickof I wear either short skirts with opaque tights in winter, or midi skirts with bare legs in summer. Short-wise I have a couple of leather skirts which were £££ but excellent buys and I wear them so much - I have a black Jigsaw one and a bottle green Whistles one that I wear for not-work, and an old White Company one I wear for work. I wear those with fitted knitwear, 100 denier tights, and either black Stan Smiths or Veja trainers, or my DM monkey boots. Midi-length I have a few from Monki, one from Zara, and a couple from Topshop. I wear them with tucked in t-shirts and trainers.

Much cooler here today. We've been out for a walk, and I've now changed into a sweatshirt dress from Boden. It's a bit long I think, I might get it shortened once life's back to normal. I really like it though, nice and cosy.

@Sickoffamilydrama I forgot to say my playsuit the other day was from the sale last year - if I buy from Boden it's almost always at the end of the season as they have really good sales.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses those are nice jeans.

I've been in running gear for most of the day - did an online HIIT workout this morning and went for a run an hour ago, and couldn't be bothered to get changed in between 🤨

I'm barely dressed now, tbh, but I wanted to show off my new Sweaty Betty yoga pants (they should pay me for all the advertising).

T-shirt is Jack Wills.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses Love the look of those Whistles jeans - what is the sizing like? Obviously they are supposed to be pretty baggy, but did you need to size down, or just go for your usual size?

Uhtredswoman · 13/04/2020 20:03

@PalacePaper good tip on the sales! Love the jumper dress - I'm a sucker for slogans (see today's outfit😂).

Jeans - M&S
Jumper - hush (possibly a bit too short to cover my bum and tum?)

Uhtredswoman · 13/04/2020 20:05

Where did the photo go?

Uhtredswoman · 13/04/2020 20:08

Gah!!!

@Judystilldreamsofhorses thanks for the monki tip just bought 4 items 2 skirts, a pair of shorts and a pair of trousers that's me sorted for lockdown summer.

I do similar to you in winter as I'm lucky to be have slim legs. I used to have loads of nice summer wear but got rid of a load of it as since I had number 3 and I've gained weight on my waist. Lock down is making exercise everyday so hopefully that will help and I need to be kinder to myself and not wait until I lose weight.

Thanks @PalacePaper I'll keep my eye out I have bought my work suit from their sale but not playsuits, I have liked the look of some of the jumpsuits but thought they were overpriced.

PalacePaper · 13/04/2020 20:38

@Uhtredswoman nice jumper - I think the length is good. My dress from today is a current Boden sale bargain Grin

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 13/04/2020 20:46

pepper I am a fairly standard U.K. 10, but the 28 was too big so mine are a 27 - all three pairs. I also have the whistles Hollie jeans which I read to size up in, got the 28, then ended up having to get the bloody waist taken in. I have a small waist/big arse though.

sickof excellent shopping! I like Monki a lot. I think they do really good basic tops - Breton stripe type stuff - which wash well for a very good price.

itssquidstella · 13/04/2020 22:21

@Uhtredswoman great jumper!

@Judystilldreamsofhorses I also have a small waist and a big arse - do the barrel jeans gape at the waist or are they lower slung?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 13/04/2020 23:21

stella they are high waisted, but going down a size solved the gaping. They are a perfect fit. My actual measurements are 27/38, a,though lockdown wine might change that.

toastfiend · 14/04/2020 09:23

Back to work (from home!) after the long weekend today. No VTCs, though, so can be casual! DS has decided the accordion is his new favourite toy. It is not at all distracting...

Dungas - Lucy & Yak
Top - H&M

Will be replaced by leggings later for a HIIT workout and dog walk.

Trying to go through my wardrobe. I've only worn these jeans once despite loving them. They look better in real life I think. Had to research tops and footwear to wear with them when I first tried them. Anyway, for today's low temperatures and me not having many housework jobs today I thought I'd dress up for the last ever tesco delivery I'm guessing I will have. I usually book 5 ahead every Tuesday as DD is bed bound and I can't leave her and DH usually works away midweek. I do not even know where the nearest proper supermarket is ( minimum of 50 minutes drive ). So after today we will have to rely on the little shops in the village. Worrying about getting the specialist stuff DD needs for her diet as she is hypersensitive to taste and smell and has many allergies so we have a very strict diet for her that has meant she hasn't needed tube feeding now for several years. Am so worried this shopping nonsense may ruin all that as she is 'at risk but not vulnerable' according to her nurse but she is attempting to get her changed into vulnerable group. And DH is simply working ridiculous hours trying to coordinate coronavirus in his NHS area. Last week he only just got out long enough to pick up our bread from the village. Ah well. We are alive!

I hope everyone has nicer weather than us here
