Royal style: Max and Wax and whacky hats

Now that the Commonwealth event is nearly over, we have another treat ahead of us. Maxima in Indonesia!

In light of what happened on the previous thread, I'm going to take a leaf out of Elizabeth SMT Holmes' book and say critique the clothes and the styling but not the physical appearances of various royal women.

I’m still amused by the fact that Edward (who is an Earl rather than a Duke) is called Edward Antony Richard Louis. So his initials spell “EARL”

According to The Telegraph:
[Edward] was set to be Duke of Cambridge, but declined because of a character named Lord Wessex in Shakespeare in Love. "He liked the sound of it and asked the Queen if he could have that instead”.

I feel rather sorry for Edward going to a jam factory for his birthday, they should have sent him to a wine merchant or a whiskey distillery!

Nooo! I can personally verify that Wilkins of Tiptree do the most fabulous fruit gins. 😄

I like the Wessex title, it's very quaint.

Never thought I would say this about an outfit of Meghan’s but that dress is hideous! The shape, the fit, and don’t get me started on the colour.

I love the top half apart from the round neck but the skirt is a bit odd, some pleats some plain. The colour is good on her though.

She looks lovely from the neck up and her hair is perfect but the kindest thing I can say about the dress is that it's a nice shade of pink.

It's showing on my phone as salmon but I do have it on night mode all the time! Uh oh, this could become like the infamous dress from a few years ago...

My nanna used to have a lamp and matching fruit bowl (I know) made from similar stuff to Max’s hat. She looks as though she’s wearing a coconut.

Meghan needs to file today’s dress under “bad plan trying to match dress to husbands hair”

I'm wondering which Diana outfit she'll be making a tribute to I like the pleats though, it's not all bad.

I'm not a fan of that look on Meghan at all I don't think the colour is right on her the high round neck long sleeved combined with the floats cut means the dress looks like it is swamping her and the odd half pleated half straight skirt is just odd.

Hair an make up look good though and it looks like they had a great time from Harry's reaction in the photo.

That dress is terrible
