Now that the Commonwealth event is nearly over, we have another treat ahead of us. Maxima in Indonesia!

In light of what happened on the previous thread, I'm going to take a leaf out of Elizabeth SMT Holmes' book and say critique the clothes and the styling but not the physical appearances of various royal women.

Charles really likes that squirrel

Inniu · 27/03/2020 20:00

I would guess there are protocols about where senior Royals are to be situated in a time of emergency and having them in separate places is probably advisable.
Especially when you see the level of infection in the government,
People with important constitutional roles should not be anywhere near each other.

On the fashion point, Louis didn’t appear to be wearing shorts when clapping. I thought little princes always wore shorts?

BlingLoving · 27/03/2020 20:16

@paradyning I agree - she's terrible at weddings. And yes, maybe it's so she doesn't shine but hell, she frumps instead. I still get the shivers about her outfit at peppa's wedding. I live in hope that her post-church outfit was spectacular because that thing was a monstrosity.

NoGravyForYou · 27/03/2020 21:45

The boobs on her dress at Pippa's wedding was just awful

NoGravyForYou · 27/03/2020 21:45

Sorry the bust area, not necessarily her boobs

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/03/2020 22:33

It did look like it was designed for a larger bust didn't it? Shame as it would've been quite nice if it fitted her properly.

but the law at the time in England was that weddings could not be performed after 6 pm.

My parents got married late in the day in February (back in the early 50s). There are no photos because it never occurred to anyone that it would be dark when they came out of church!

AngelaScandal · 27/03/2020 23:34

Pippa’s dress was glorious however.

mathanxiety · 28/03/2020 05:12

PC gives the word 'squirrelly' a whole new dimension.

How can Harry move to the US? He’ll have to sort out a Green Card etc

Spouse visa -> Green Card (--> citizenship? He could remain an alien though. There is no obligation for GC holders to seek citizenship, for now.)

MangoFeverDream · 28/03/2020 09:37

I know H&M always wanted to move to LA but the tax implications are serious; I doubt he’d become a citizen as then your US tax burdens are for life, no matter where in the world you live ...

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/03/2020 10:03

Apparently this year's Trooping won't go ahead "in its traditional form". I don't know exactly what form it will take but I'm guessing not one that'll have much to offer in the way of clothes-watching.

AppleKatie · 28/03/2020 10:22

Ha! Do you think they’ll do it via zoom and all be in their pjs from the waist down?

Laiste · 28/03/2020 15:15

After the above story I've got such a strong mental image now of PC excitedly letting the squirrels root around inside his suit looking for his nuts GrinHalo

thisenglishlife · 28/03/2020 16:17

@AppleKatie and @Laiste 😂

GoFiguire · 28/03/2020 16:50

Nah, THIS is why Charles has been training his red squirrels all these years.

thisenglishlife · 28/03/2020 17:58

Maybe he likes red squirrels because he saw this (bad language warning):

Princess Maria Theresa has died from the corona virus

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/03/2020 18:19

Who was she @thisenglishlife?

OP posts:
AdaColeman · 28/03/2020 18:27

Spanish Bourbon Parma I think Queen.

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/03/2020 19:22

While googling Maria Theresa (who seems to have been one of those royals that aren't royal anymore), I spotted this headline from the Express that made me laugh. Sounds scandalous but then you realise it's referring to Sir Tim!

Ada is correct, minor Spanish royals. The family included Spanish dukes (including Parma) and kings in and around Tuscany in the early 1800s.

Are those stunt books!?

thisenglishlife · 29/03/2020 10:38

I seen those versions in bookshops - www.penguin.co.uk/series/clotbo/penguin-clothbound-classics.html

I doubt anyone at Kensington Palace reads them though!
