Royal style: Max and Wax and whacky hats

Now that the Commonwealth event is nearly over, we have another treat ahead of us. Maxima in Indonesia!

In light of what happened on the previous thread, I'm going to take a leaf out of Elizabeth SMT Holmes' book and say critique the clothes and the styling but not the physical appearances of various royal women.

You nailed it - Zara doesn't dress for her shape. She often does look squashed in.
Yesterdays Cheltenham outfit was awful not nice. The outfit she wore the day before was better.

Agree with the general sentiment about Zara too, she often does look a bit stuffed into her clothes.

The toffee/mustard/who knows what it's supposed to be dress is hideous. But she completely redeems herself with the navy number. It suited her, was well fitting and was suitable. I'd love to wear such a dress but bust size would ruin it.

Max looks great. She shouldn't. That dress is weird. BUT.... it works and fits beautifully. I'm not wild on Leti's outfit because the trousers are almost too slim fitting and make her look like a child. But that might just be me!

I like the navy dress. Even with the scarf bit - it’s a little bit retro. And it suits her beautifully!

I think this is one of my favourite Zara looks - loved the colour and hat and shoes. And I also loved how extremely pregnant she was - that baby looked like it was kicking like a champ based on some of her expressions at times. Made me smile, I had to get all smartened up and go to a conference a day before I finished for mat leave and I was being beaten to a pulp as well

But again her breasts are being squashed practically flat! Why even button the coat up? And I know she was pregnant and growing every day, but that coat is tight across her shoulders, arms and chest. She must have been worried about it ripping if she stretched her arms out!

That was at H&M's wedding wasn't it? I remember seeing her in the chapel and thinking she looked so uncomfortable as it was such a warm day.

What I like about Zara's and Autumn's and Princess Anne's racing fashion at this time of the year is that they obviously prioritise comfort. No spike heels on grass, dress up warm as it's very likely to be cold and windy. I hate it when the papers are covering women dressed up like it's a Summer's Ladies Day and it's clearly time to cover up a bit.

I'm also not a fan of drapey and floaty bits on dresses, or things high up around the neck and throat. I think they generally impose on the wearer too much so it looks like they're either awkward or dominant and the wearer's body language is less relaxed than with clothes they can put on and forget about.

A bit behind but I love Max's sporty dress and Megs' navy dress. I think she really suits that pencil shape.

Love Max's spotty dress, very nice. Leti looks great in a suit but her hair is a bit of a mess.

Meghan's navy dress is more like it, I like that one a lot. She's a real 'theme' dresser though isn't she? We had all the belted dresses for ages and now she's going for things around the shoulders and neck a lot. Almost all of her dresses lately have been high necked and I'm afraid it's not a look that especially suits her, in my opinion.

I love Zara, she looks such good fun. Agree she doesn't dress for her figure but I'm not sure she's that fussed about clothes really.
