Now that the Commonwealth event is nearly over, we have another treat ahead of us. Maxima in Indonesia!

In light of what happened on the previous thread, I'm going to take a leaf out of Elizabeth SMT Holmes' book and say critique the clothes and the styling but not the physical appearances of various royal women.

The £1000 "toffee" polyester dress is totally hideous - it doesn't even look great on the model. I don't know what Meghan was thinking there. She could have reworn the SmartWorks dress - also polyester but only £20.

LadyEloise · 11/03/2020 17:02

Re the Toffee polyester dress - Emperor's New Clothes - more money than sense.
Zara looks well but I'm annoyed Cheltenham has gone ahead.
Ridiculous considering the Covid19 virus.

mrscampbellblackagain · 11/03/2020 19:28

I agree LadyEloise! Seems madness to me.

MotherofPearl · 11/03/2020 19:43

Max's dress here reminds me of the one Julia Roberts wore in Pretty Woman, only with sleeves. Showing my age there! Grin She always does a good job of carrying off those giant hats.

Leti at a remembrance event in Paris in a very sharp suit - she looks great, and I like her hair up for a change.

Zara's outfit from Cheltenham today. I like it, especially the hat, but I can't look at it too long or my eyes go funny!

MotherofPearl · 11/03/2020 20:57

Zara does look good there, I agree.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/03/2020 21:15

I really don't like that on Zara, it makes her look twice the width she actually is and a bit trussed up.

itswinetime · 11/03/2020 21:25

Nope that's not a look I like on zara. Yesterday's was much better for me

Horsemad · 11/03/2020 21:28

I don't like Zara's outfit, apart from her hat.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/03/2020 21:30

It looks like she's borrowed a coat HM wore in the 80s!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 11/03/2020 21:31

I agree the shape does not flatter Zara, I think she looks better in belted coats, whilst perusing the internet looking for mor flattering styles for her I came across the gem of a photo, made me smile!

Aww, cute photo BettyBoo 🙂

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/03/2020 21:39

Oh dear, Diana had a lot to answer for with some of the coats she put William in! Remember the matching powder blue ones?

It was the 80’s though. He really didn’t look that out of place.

I think Zara’s outfit suffers from being papped too close. Few steps back and it would’ve looked different I suspect.

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 11/03/2020 22:22

That’s such a cute photo!

gingercat02 · 11/03/2020 22:29

That dress of Max's looks quite.like Meghans but less "quirky"
I love Zara she has inherited her Mum's attitude but she does seem to like being stuffed into her clothes

thisenglishlife · 11/03/2020 22:30

Meghan in her role as patron of the Association of Commonwealth Universities - navy dress, much better fit

AudacityOfHope · 11/03/2020 22:31

I'm not mad about Zara's style in general. I think she often dresses for someone else's shape - she's got boobs but they often seem squashed in and trussed up in outfits that look uncomfortable.

I really like her hat though! And she does always look happy.

frugalkitty · 11/03/2020 22:56

I've just seen Meghan's navy dress on IG, I really like it, soooo much better than the toffee could-have-been-better dress.

NoGravyForYou · 11/03/2020 23:35

Meghan is really loving dresses with "bits" attached to them at the moment.

A million times nicer than the orange/brown dress from yesterday.

itswinetime · 11/03/2020 23:55

The navy dress is nice much better than yesterday's...but I do get cabin crew vibes from the neck scarf.

Gooseysgirl · 12/03/2020 00:04

Love MM's navy dress - she looks fabulous. The toffee number is definitely not one of her finest moments! The shape of Zara's coat today was all wrong - she looked much better yesterday.

AdaColeman · 12/03/2020 00:58

Not keen on Zara’s checked coat, it’s the sort of thing my Mother would have worn to go shopping in. Zara’s resemblance to Anne is very striking in that photograph.

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/03/2020 07:07

I like Meghan's navy dress and the low ponytail with the side parting. It's a very clean and chic look.

Agree re Zara @AudacityOfHope. She looks good in casual stuff but when dressed up her clothes often look constrictive.

DevonUkelele · 12/03/2020 07:08

Hahaha ... Zara looking like a David Jones bag! Not her best effort.

Nice hat though.

Meg's navy frock was a winner for me. (Not so much the Harpers Bazaar article that went with those pictures 😉 - but that's off-limits for this thread)
