So excited about my new handbag

I went to my first Aspinal outlet sale in London today.

Whatever you buy is as seen and you can't return it.

I attach a photo of the bag I bought. It wasn't the bag I was hoping to get, but I never thought I'd be able to acquire the one I actually did buy.

What do you all think? It was definitely worth the train/tube/half a mile walk in the absolutely pouring rain because I wasn't sure exactly where the shop was. I'm just sitting here sort of stroking it and deciding when its first outing will be.

Loewe makes some gorgeous bags. I have so many items on my wish list. Grin

MimiLaRue · 08/03/2020 11:08

@Ninkanink

That midi mayfair is gorgeous! I love the colour and the texture- so cute

Ninkanink · 08/03/2020 11:24

I’d love to share some photos of my bags but I’d have to actually take some! I always find that in situ photos are much nicer and give a better sense of the bag’s beauty. Maybe I’ll do a photo session today...

I do have one set of photos from when I first got my Darley last year. Such a very pretty nude pink colour and goes perfectly with a whole range of colours.

Beautiful @Ninkanink, lovely for holidays I bet.

Ninkanink · 08/03/2020 11:34

Yes it’s my summer occasion/evening bag. I’ve also got a silk scarf whose flowers match it perfectly which I found by chance around the same time I bought the bag, which makes me extraordinarily happy as I love matching accessories that don’t match too overtly IYNWIM.

Love the nude Darley @ninkanink

Carpathian2 · 08/03/2020 11:43

@mimilarue

Absolutely! I must admit I'm a bit anal about looking after them. I always use the dust bag & box and the wrapping. I treat it like a hobby!

heldom · 08/03/2020 11:46

@chocolatesaltyballs22 what's the black bag in your middle picture?

Ninkanink · 08/03/2020 11:51

@chocolatesaltyballs22 is the black bag from Aurora London?

Love your Lily (I have that one too) and your Anthony (I think?) as well.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 08/03/2020 11:52

It's by a London designer called Aurora. Really lovely quality and not ridiculously expensive. Think they do 10% off your first order as well.

Yay I was right! That’s another bag that’s on my radar, but probably in the navy or red.

Here’s my small new-style Bayswater in oxblood which I love. It’s got a few scratches now and some wear because I’ve used it a lot over the past few years and I don’t baby my everyday bags, but I still love it, it looks great with my winter wardrobe and adds a little interest to an outfit.

Ninkanink · 08/03/2020 11:58

(Very minor wear, really - a tiny bit of wear on one or two of the corners on the base. I could get them sorted, but I prefer to let my bags show signs of life).

Cheesymonster · 08/03/2020 12:00

Here's my daily bag

@TheYearOfTheDog a truly gorgeous bag and you’re right, absolutely a work of art in its design and construction. I’m so glad you have it and I definitely understand the symbolism of it.

Ninkanink · 08/03/2020 12:04

Also love the Soho Disco!

I have at various times wanted the red and nude but I think I have settled on the black for that one. 👍

EdithHope · 08/03/2020 12:04

That Loewe bag is absolutely a thing of beauty! Wow.

I keep talking myself in and out of spending £££ on a Chanel (encouraged by chocolate's thread) but I'm also afraid of having to justify the cost to DH. I have the money saved to spend, but he would be horrified if he knew how much such a bag actually costs Hmm This thread is doing nothing to help discourage me too! Such pretty bags on here.

Guardian article, it's not just a bag.

bobbletrouble · 08/03/2020 12:06

@chocolatesaltyballs22 I love the look of Aurora bags and am so tempted to order one for summer. I just worry the Gigi will be too small - I like to carry around a bit of makeup and phone charger etc. How do you find it? I'm toying with the idea of a Cara instead...

Ninkanink · 08/03/2020 12:08

It’ll take me a while to save for Chanel/Dior, but will definitely be treating myself for my 50th. Just not sure which one of the two will win.

Or maybe by that time I’ll just want a bench for the garden. Wink

TheWordmeister · 08/03/2020 12:08

£275?! That's amazing. It's a lovely bag.

Ninkanink · 08/03/2020 12:11

And yes @IloveJudgeJudy I haven’t focused on price, but wow what a bargain and must make it all the sweeter! Maybe we should all take a photo of our bag on an outing this week, if we can! Would be fun.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 08/03/2020 12:25

You know your bags @Ninkanink!

Love the Gucci, almost bought that very bag but talked myself out of it at the last minute.

@bobbletrouble the Aurora fits in more than you would think due to its shape. I carry medium sized purse, glasses case, lipstick, lip balm, hand cream, tissues and hair brush. Fits all of that nicely. I wouldn't use it for work though.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 08/03/2020 13:32

Lovely OP Smile

I have a Mulberry from years and years ago, dh bought it for me in a similar outlet place in Chiswick. I hate the bag and have never used it, but I looked it up and apparently it's now worth more than 10x what he paid for it so I need to get on a sell it and buy something I do like!

SpeckledyHen · 08/03/2020 13:58

What bag is it MrsPelligrino ? I have a few old Mulberry bags and might be interested in it .

Alsohuman · 08/03/2020 14:14

Loving that Gigi bag - and what an amazing price. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 08/03/2020 14:23

Buy one @Alsohuman - you know you want to!

Don't know if this is allowed but I have this for sale on a Mulberry selling site. Barely used. £399 if anyone is interested.
