I love 4160 sexiest scent :) if you can afford it go for the parfum strength extra sexiest scent. Utterly gorgeous.

Also have temptation, fluffy lemon top and amberama from 4160. Love them all.

I am an outlier - I am unmoved by TSSotP. (I'm not keen on those 4160s with the big ISOEsuper/synthetic woods vibes).

Trying to decide on a scent for a family wedding tomorrow. Currently thinking MH Scherzo. Or an iris. It has to be something I have a sample of as I'm going to be there all day & evening and I only want to take a tiny clutch.

Hi - longtime lurker drawn out of the shadows by news of the MH sale! Thanks to @FloraMacDonald for pointing it out. I bought Etui Noir in the Jan recycle sale after pondering between that and Scherzo and have been regretting not getting Scherzo ever since.

I was a longtime wearer of Serge Lutens Feminite du Bois before getting a tad bored with it and so have been reading your suggestions. I have the MMM replica set and am keen to try 4160. I don't often go shopping despite being in London but I pass a Miller Harris shop multiple times per week hence I have a small array of samples, small and full size bottles from there.

Welcome Choux - if you are a FdB fan (like me), and haven't tried it already, I'd recommend getting your hands on some vintage Femme (ideally parfum strength). There's usually loads on eBay and if you are patient it can be secured very cheaply.

SSOTP didn’t do it for me either. It’s inoffensive but dull on me (but my sexy scent is Jicky which l think is probably quite odd). The only 4160 that really grabbed me was White Queen which I wear often.

I’ve gone through my Anima Vinci sample box and was quite disappointed. Sesame Chan is far and away the best. The only other I might be tempted by is Oud Delight but not at that price. The others are nice enough but no staying power and similar/much nicer things at half the spends. Apart from Wood of Life which was weird - I couldn’t smell anything for hours so put on something over the top - think it was Mojave Ghost - then it kicked in in the way to work and I absolutely honked.

SOTD guerlain ginger piccante - think I’ve finally laid off it long enough to like it again or maybe because I bought it about this time last year it seems to suit the weather.

Sotd is Ffern Summer. It's great to have some new people on the thread. @Kali did you ever get around to buying that Neroli perfume by Mfk? I'm just intrigued to see what it's like.
I'm joining in the Miller Harris love. One of my all time favourite summer scents is Fleur du Matin. Plus I have minis of many of the others. I don't believe the newer ones smell the same as the Lyn Harris perfumes. But maybe that's because I've only tried a couple so far.

It will probably reappear again. I can recommend California Reverie by Van Cleef & Arpels for a gorgeous Neroli. It's the only perfume beside Wrappings & Safari I've ever bought again.

I am also rubbish with blind buys - i do my fragrantica reading but i am never confident enough.

Didn't we have some blind buy rules once?

• Never more than [insert £limit] no matter what.
• Never when drunk.
• Only after consulting Fragrantica/Basenotes.
• Avoiding if endorsed by Evil Twin.
• What else..?

I have a terrible hit rate with blind buys too. I really ought to be stopped!

I liked the Anima Vinci ones, especially Wood of Life (I actually bought a half full bottle second hand). I was less keen on Sesame Chan as it reminded me too much of stir fry... the others are very elegant if not as unique.

SOTD has been Onyx by Sage Machado. This has really come into its own in the cold wet spring weather; I like it much more than I have ever liked it before.

Sotd ended up being 4160 temptation.

SOTD was floral street neon poppy from the sample lucky dip. Enjoyable but ultimately meh.

I want to try some new things. Interested in the MH love as I've found them quite dull in the past so think I may need to revisit. Fancy a bloom sample set, but must resist.

It's a concept I came up with ages ago....

We all have an evil perfume twin :) i.e. soneone who loves what we hate.

So for me it would be someone who loves heavy florals/aquatic ozonic/sweet candy scents....

SOTD Penhaligons Much ado about the Duke. Rose turkish delight in a heavy wood box for me. Been trying to buy DS&Durga Bowmakers (a well resined violin in a wooden case, lined with leather) but site (Nose Paris) not playing ball. Particularly annoying as you get 6 free samples with the purchase and a hours of fragrantica consultation went into mine.

That is very annoying.

Oh I love Bowmakers foodie, definitely on the want list!

I've found Lumiere Doree lasts pretty well for MH, Etui Noir a little less so, but all others I tried have been fleeting.

cant I find that my MH has really good staying power! Especially my very favourite, Scherzo, which lasts for aaaaaaages. But also Rose Silence, Coeur de Jardin etc. Pamplemousse and Hidden a little less so.
