I really enjoyed your review and music too @MotherOfDragonite.
Sotd is vintage Private Collection . I'm inhaling the Oakmoss like an addict and binge watching Normal People.

Lotsofpots · 10/05/2020 18:35

Have been absent and missed both calendars. Shame as it's approaching my birthday and I would have liked to have asked for some new frags, but I'm utterly lacking in inspiration. Feel like that about life tbh, everything is so bloody monotonous and exhausting.

SOTE is Beauty Pie red apple, white peony and cashmere wood. I've realised I don't really have any spring fragrances but this feels like it could fit the bill.

AvoidingTheWineAisle · 10/05/2020 21:04

Just caught up with all the reviews. Was such a treat! Thank you everyone Grin.

SOTE Bronze Goddess. In denial that the weather has turned and it’s Monday tomorrow...

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 10/05/2020 21:19

SOTD Stella. It has been SNOWING here today.

Nice to see you, lots - hope you are okay and taking care of yourself. 💐

Ugh.
What a day.
Ds1 is having an existential crisis.
Dh is being a dick.
I've been a bit shouty Sad

MrsPerks · 10/05/2020 21:24

Hi Pots - lovely to hear from you. Hope life is ok?

Wineaisle - (fear I may have missed a NC?), glad you are enjoying the calendar.Smile

SOTD #1 White Queen, #2 Red Queen. All this apple talk makes me want to wear Traversee du Bosphore tomorrow!

If anyone wants to take on the date 31/5 on the calendar please PM me.

yoikes · 11/05/2020 08:59

Review up

PearsMorgan · 11/05/2020 12:02

No SOTD but the scarf I am wearing still smells of Annick Goutal Encens Flamboyant and there’s a bottle on eBay...

teta · 11/05/2020 13:44

Sotd is Private Collection Jasmine White Moss.
Lazy morning cleaning bathrooms and doing work paperwork. Now I'm actually going out to work.

yoikes · 11/05/2020 13:46

Sotd prosody mocha muscari

MrsPerks · 11/05/2020 14:48

Foodie and Yoikes absolutely loved both your reviews and am interested in sniffing both your chosen scents. Especially La Liturgie (as, for an atheist, I have quite a passion for churchy incense...).

That doesn't sound like a great Sunday, Foodie; hope there's not too much damage limitation to do today?

SotD is the wonderful Traversee du Bosphore which would certainly make it onto my desert island list, Flora (hope I'm remembering that right?). It's great on a cold spring day, as is Seville a L'Aube.

Am also in Richard James' Saville Row, which is a very good floral leather (although listed by Fragrantica as an aromatic fougere). This is a little like Insense, and also a little like Z-14 and Or Black. If it turns up in TK Maxx again for pennies, buy some!

On my skin, Encens Flamboyant is such a strange fragrance, hot and medicinal smelling pine, like an embrocation. I like it a lot, but have to be in the right mood...

FloraMacDonald · 11/05/2020 15:47

Great review yoikes. I'm currently re-reading another Eco book, Faucault's Pendulum, which is horrendously complicated and has aged slightly. Still love it though!
I'm really looking forward to my Bloom box. I need some new inspiration. What has everyone got on their FB list at the moment?

yoikes · 11/05/2020 15:51

Current FB list:
Prosody mocha muscari (only have a 10ml)
Estee lauder modern muse nuit
HdeP la liturgie des heures
HdeP amber 114
Andy Tauer Au coeur du desert

PearsMorgan · 11/05/2020 20:06

@mrsperks I bought it...after spraying my sample again to be sure. Pine, definitely, but New Forest in high summer rather than Flash. As well as the incense. My husband hates it ha ha ha.

Oh and Ffern spring

yoikes · 11/05/2020 20:20

The elton john bio is good

teta · 11/05/2020 20:38

What do you all mean by a full bottle list?
Are these ones you want, ones you have or ones you're getting rid of? 🤔
In perfume news I've just ordered some partially used 10 ml Malles from eBay. I wanted a summery aquatic and love Lys Mediteranean ,I really miss my small decant . It came with a bonus of lipstick rose & Fleur du cassie. Though I don't love the fleur du Cassie as much as the other two.
@Yoikes loved your review. You've made it sound so tempting .

1frenchfoodie · 11/05/2020 20:57

I loved the review yoikes , sounds right up my smoky, woody, waxy street. Does it need to be cool to wear it?

I normally work about 10 minutes from Jovoy which I find a temple of calm (as opposed to currently working from my kitchen table). The lovely staff have never batted an eyelid about my toddler rolling around the floor which has kept me going back.

yoikes · 11/05/2020 21:02

It's beautiful foodie
Today has been a great day to wear it...it's grey and cold here.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 11/05/2020 23:00

SOTD POAL. Snow here again.

Thank you MrsPerks and teta.

My bottle of Shaalimar arrived today and it's everything I hoped it would be! I love it! What a wonderful discovery -- and it's all thanks to the perfumista calendar :-)

yoikes · 12/05/2020 08:43

Morning.
Well, I have a meeting this morning I'm not looking forward to. Ugh.
Add to that dh being a dick and I'm in a rare old mood!!
After a traumatic couple of days it transpires that Ds1 has not been contacting his tutors. Don't ask my why...it's ridiculous. I've pointed out all his classmates will be contacting them!
So obv he is struggling with his work and got a D on his last piece of work.
So after 2 days of him asking for my help and every question I asked him being met with a shrug of shoulders or a "dunno" and him actually lying to me, I snapped.
He got a good shouting at!
Dh thinks I was wrong to do this and said so in front of ds1.
So.
Ds1 IS now in contact with his tutors (after I made him e mail them!) and I made clear that dh can help him with any issues/problems with his work.
They can both just bloody get on with it.
Ffs.

yoikes · 12/05/2020 08:43

Sorry.
Needed a vent!

PearsMorgan · 12/05/2020 08:58

Don’t apologise. Sounds familiar. My son realised yesterday that he’d missed a week of work. He genuinely thought he was on top of it and was proud he’d been so efficient getting through everything. My most troublesome child is in Y1 though so, result. SOTD l’air du desert marocain - thanks to whoever recommended this, it’s lovely. Slightly regretting the annick goutal purchase now. My husband has been to the maroccan desert and says it doesn’t smell like that. Also getting stuck into the Elton John bio, just the ticket.
