I'm in a magazine article this week - me & my jowls ☹️ . When I don't sleep well my face becomes swollen . And I look enormous. At least size 20-22 . I'm chubby and a size 14.
I definitely do need to diet though. But somehow lockdown with teenagers and my very stroppy eldest is not conducive to dieting .

Forgot to say my Sotd is Papillons Tobacco Rose.
It's too cold for all the sheer green florals I was wearing last week.
I really enjoyed today's calender entry - lipstick Rose . It's one of my favourites and I've run out of it. I do however have a big bottle of drole d Rose that is very similar and will wear tomorrow.

Not gonna lie i have had a terrible bloody day and evening (lost my shit with eveyrone at home) and this thread has made me laugh x

Really enjoyed your review today, Calm, I haven't smelt Lipstick Rose. But I have also driven myself mad trying to find an old Chanel lipstick to sniff. (My old faithful red, 'Lover', was not where expected - very anxiety inducing).

Now in Tart's Knicker Drawer - the one that got away, during that fabulous year of half price scent of the week.

MrsP i have a sample of L'Air de Rien i will post you when not avoiding post office. I did buy the large bottle.

SOTD Tauer Incense Rose. Exactly what it “says on the tin” but oh so deep and rich. I put it on at 7 this morning and it’s still going strong.

Mother, I’ve always wondered what Blousy was like. I have several of the earlier Miller Harris perfumes, but have missed all the later ones. I’m intending a lovely long visit to The Miller Harris shop in Covent Garden when lockdown permits. I loved the idea of using a Simplicity pattern cover in your review and your descriptions were very enticing.

Calm i have sniffed most of the newer MH scents and none of them are ground breaking but perfectly wearable.

@Calmasasleepycat I can highly recommend the Miller Harris boutique in the new King's Cross development (Coal Drop Yard) there was a amazing chap working there who really got me interested in perfume and what suited me! I totally agree with Kali's view that the new stuff is wearable but largely not groundbreaking (Blousy fits that well, although I really do like it Scherzo, on the other hand, I still think is something really special).

They did a candy-themed marketing campaign with a pretend ice cream truck at various large train stations and I got to sniff Blousy (which I liked a lot) and Brighton Rock, which was too sugar-candy-esque for me. I also didn't really 'get' Violet Ida although it smells really nice on a friend of mine.

MH is another house I don't "get" sadly.

It's on my "what's the point" list along with chanel, guerlain and No Malone :)

I’m an old-ish timer from these threads, but disappeared last year as I needed to curb my perfume spending and this thread was just too tempting...

Back in times of corona, though, as I’m enjoying playing with the (quite a lot of!) perfume I’ve already got and I really miss talking all things fragrant with you lot.

SOTD was Narciso Rodriguez Fleur Musc, but I currently stink as am home dying my grey roots. The fumes are powerful .

I’ll pick a SOTE after my shower.

I enjoyed your review Mother, although the Simplicity pattern produced a pang of regret at my incompetence as a seamstress. Your description made me wonder if Blousy smells anything like 4160Ts Who Knew? (And Blousy always make me think first of Bugsy Malone ).

Calm - that's funny, as Incense Rose strikes me as not really smelling like either! It's got a strange buzzy-savoury quality, and the frankincense is so fresh and green and devoid of churchy smokiness (a bit like the frankincense in Mortel).

A bit of a trying day here too; youngest child nearly brought the ceiling down with a bathroom flood, and am hitting the wall with work monotony. Sure tomorrow will be better! and I smell nice
