It was meeee!! Glad you like it! Grin

Sotd last two days has been Nuxe Le Soir des Possibles. It's a bit too fleeting but I love it, think I might have to treat myself to a full bottle!

Off to read today's calendar entry now, highlight of my day!

MrsPerks · 08/04/2020 21:50

Oh that was the absolute perfect review for today's glorious weather Calm - I was sitting on the lawn thinking about Titania Smile.

I meant to follow your lead and dig out Ealing Green, but got distracted and ended up in vintage Dioressence and Givenchy III instead Smile.

I haven't really given Dioressence my full attention before. It's a gently warm and spicy floral chypre, sweetened with fruit notes. Very satisfying and understated, passing through moments of soft geranium, then carnation before getting to pillowy clouds of rich balsamy woods, still with a slight fruit harmonic. Not what I remembered and really glorious.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 08/04/2020 22:17

SOTD Heeley Sel Marin. I am really struggling today - worst day yet. I made the mistake of lolling around in lounge-wear, bath, new lounge-wear, when I should have put on a nice outfit and lipstick and gone for a walk. I think working from home was giving me structure, and while all those video calls were a pain it was good to see my students even if half the time they had no academic merit for any of us. Who would have thought I would be wishing the holidays away!

Sorry you're feeling low judy
I hauled my sorry arse out for a long walk today and felt better for it
You all write so beautifully...love reading the reviews :)

MrsPerks · 09/04/2020 19:01

Great review and picture Mother - consequently, SotD is…. Shalimar Smile

KaliforniaDreamz · 09/04/2020 19:15

I love Shalimar. A previous "MIL" (old bf not actually dh) of mine used to wear it and always makes me think of her. Lovely lady.

SOTD for me is BYREDO La Tulipe (PP version) i didn't get this when i first applied it but today it feels beautiful. A few of my PP rollerballs smell so different a couple of weeks on. Is it my nose or have they stewed?!

Weird day trying so hard to be upbeat with kids but my youmgest struggles being away from structure of school.
Went to the park for first time in ages (I feel like bc i have a garden in london i should leave the public spaces to those who don't) but i just needed to get out and walk somewhere today, anyway was so bloody packed i came home!

x

yoikes · 09/04/2020 19:25

I'm off for a bath soon so sote to be chosen!

MrsPerks · 09/04/2020 20:54

My sorry arse has just come back from mine. Sometimes I like to go at dusk to avoid the crowds, see the foxes, and hear the owls, but I timed it badly and hit the 8pm clap for the NHS so the pavements were busy. Moving though to see everyone out making noise.

MrsPerks · 09/04/2020 20:56

Sorry to hear about DS Kali - hope the Easter weekend is easier?

Hope today was better Judy?

Calmasasleepycat · 09/04/2020 22:01

Have just lost a long post - aargh!

SOTD was Baccarat Rouge 500. This is definitely full bottle worthy but so expensive I make do with samples. It has a burnt sugar smell, like the remains on a candy floss machine, and germolene. That sounds revolting but is actually amazing!

Mother I loved your review, and the elegant lady. I don’t know Shalimar at all well but look forward to trying it later in the year.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 10/04/2020 00:05

SOTD NRFH.

Apologies if the picture is upside down, I am no web editor.

KaliforniaDreamz · 10/04/2020 13:22

Thanks !French lovely entry.
Hope you're all ok on Good Friday!

SOTD is Opus III - Amouage (PP)
i think i might review this one for the calendar.

Stay well x

MrsPerks · 10/04/2020 16:42

Thank you FrenchFoodie - not sure how I've failed to twig you are in...France. I like the idea of the bandanas. I have a vintage s scarf with perfume bottles - will be perfect!

I haven't smelt DS Coriander, but have almost joined you in Jean Couturier's Coriandre. (Haven't this smelt particular mini before, and it's not as I remember...almost leathery during the first 30 mins, then more floral than green. Not sure if its me or it?).

Also in vintage Ma Griffe.

yoikes · 10/04/2020 17:10

Post shower sotd 4160 fluffy lemon tops

PearsMorgan · 10/04/2020 19:33

SOTD Annick Goutal Encens Flamboyante. Was a mistake - didn’t have my glasses on and reached for the wrong decant (was aiming for Guerlain Vetiver). Not very summery but I love it and I wish I could justify a FB (husband’s job looking a bit shaky, mine luckily is fine).

PearsMorgan · 10/04/2020 19:34

Catching up on the reviews...lived the shalimar one and the story behind it.

PearsMorgan · 10/04/2020 19:34

Loved even

Calmasasleepycat · 10/04/2020 20:50

SOTD was Dior New Look 1947, a very pretty, classy floral with lots of powdery iris and no fruit at all!

D.S. & Durga Coriander sounds intriguing, 1French, loved the review.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 10/04/2020 21:29

SOTD Byredo Gypsy Water.

MotherOfDragonite · 10/04/2020 21:50

Lovely entry, french! I am enjoying the calendar enormously. I feel I have so many new things on my list to try gradually.

SOTD was Amouage Dia Woman. I still don't love it even in the spring weather, although all of their scents are so high quality they're hard to dislike.

PearsMorgan · 11/04/2020 11:02

My Ffern spring arrived! But my husband has quarantined it in the garage...

MrsPerks · 11/04/2020 11:31

Thank you for the Beyond Rose review Yoikes, thought the image was a very good match with the smell Smile.

One of my perfumista guilty secrets is that I've never smelt PoaL so it's good to know the ball park.

Perhaps others would like to confess to any howling gaps in their sniffy experiences that they really should get round to rectifying (if only by visiting a department store counter once this is all over)?

For fans of dark, woody roses can I also recommend Lyn Miller's discontinued (M&S) La Rose - often on eBay. Am now itching to spray a dark rose, but am going to hang tough for a bit longer, just in case the postwoman has my Diorissimo!

yoikes · 11/04/2020 11:34

I think you all know this but I dislike al ost all guerlain snd Chanel scents
gets coat

I've done a 4km walk and am mow cleaning.
