You know the sort of day when you come downstairs and every single thing that everyone does pisses you off?

Thank god dh is back in work for 3 days from tomorrow....I need the break from him.

MrsPerks · 05/04/2020 12:17

Morning - hope everyone is able to enjoy the blue skies and sunshine (responsibly Smile)? The cat and I are watching a pair of nut hatches that are nesting in a hedge right by the back door. Really pretty little birds.

Lovely to read some more calendar entries. Teta - I've just checked my mini vintage Diors and I don't think I've evert tried Diorissimo; I need to put this right! Rooting around, I stopped to try Casaque, Private Collection and Diorama; all very beautiful on a spring morning.

In less good news, I also discovered that several decants stored in plastic atomisers, have evaporated to virtually nothing in a very short space of time. I think I am going to have to invest in glass and adopt a policy of decanting the decants in future... Sad.

Very intrigued indeed, Boglins , to hear about PP Kalemat (bilberry pie with rosemary and anise sounds delicious and your picture is making my mouth water). I know nothing about Arabian perfumes, but am interested to try (where to start?).

teta · 05/04/2020 14:01

@MrsPerks thank you for swopping with me the other day. I was getting overwhelmed with work and am now absolutely drained and exhausted.
Our business has really taken off and we're now working out how to upscale as we go along.
You've promoted me to dig out my Vintage Private Collection and wear it today. Plus the Ffern Spring is arriving this week !
Something to look forward to.
@Yoikes I too wish I could send DH a long way away , preferably without a 'return' option.

The PP Kalemat sounds right up my strasse. When i joined these threads i was a leather Bottega Veneta eau legere kinda girl, now i am amber and wood and musk and sweetness and ooh what shall i wear today....
Loving the entries so far thank you all.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/04/2020 14:10

SOTD Diptyque Philosykos. I am off to the M&S food hall shortly - it’s our nearest supermarket - and the sun is shining.

MrsPerks · 06/04/2020 22:56

What a lovely, uplifting read today, Judy - thank you. Good to see more of your lovely cat, too.

I hit the vintage drawer today, and am in Sortilege and Diorella. I only have a drop left of the latter, but it is perfection in all dimension from beginning to end. Wet citrussy basil, light fruits and florals, lots of gentle soapy moss - effortless, uplifting, sophisticated and intelligent. Think I am going to have to devote my life to tracking down the Edmond Roudnitskas that have eluded me so far Smile.

Working from home it's much easier to keep track of perfumes as they develop - I got a proper sense of Sortilege for the first time today. Beyond the bracing aldehydes there is a hidden heart of warm amber, balsams and moss. Very lovely; just completely outshone by Diorella...

PearsMorgan · 07/04/2020 10:26

SOTD Guerlain le vetiver. Vetiver, soap and restrained bergamot.

KaliforniaDreamz · 07/04/2020 12:58

Loved that Judy

SOTD White Musk pretending to do some exercise today (done none in weeks) but alas i ended up painting my toe nails instead.
Off to read today's entry.

PearsMorgan · 07/04/2020 13:23

If I could be arsed to paint my toenails I would rebrand it as yoga.

teta · 07/04/2020 21:31

😂🧘@PearsMorgan.
I love that!
Sotd is Private Collection.
I'm loving the sound of Ffern Summer. Mother are you still onboard? Who else has joined in the ledger? I'm trying to concentrate on happy things rather than watch the news at the moment.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 07/04/2020 21:37

Thanks, mrsperks and kali - I got quite emotional writing that!

SOTD MMM Untitled, for a Boris walk, cooking a curry, and sorting out the bottomless pit of the hall cupboard.

KaliforniaDreamz · 07/04/2020 22:44

Pears after no yoga for a month it actually felt like that.
Who was today? I love a bit of MH as you know but haven't tried Pamplemousse.

Judy it is emotional at the moment. I fear we are the only sane corner of Mumsnet at the moment.

MrsPerks · 07/04/2020 22:49

Lovely to read about MH Le Pamplemousse, Pears. A mossy garden on a hot day sounds heavenly. My go to grapefruits are the Guerlain Aqua Allegoria and Onde Sensuelle.

I now have some Diorissimo on order - blaming you Teta. One of the pluses of lockdown is to always be home when deliveries arrive...

teta · 08/04/2020 09:02

I'm about to order some vintage Diorella @MrsPerks. I'm blaming you too 😄
I adore your review today @Calmasasleepycat.
Scent yesterday was vintage private collection and the day before was Fleur du Matin. I'm not sure what todays will be .

MotherOfDragonite · 08/04/2020 10:40

Guys, I've had a revelation! Shalimar! Who was the amazing kind person who send me the PP Shaalimar?

Because yesterday I suddenly smelled something amazing. I followed the scent and it led me to the little oil bottle of PP Shaalimar, on which the lid had loosened slightly. WOOOOOWWWWWW!

The scent that I didn't really 'get' when I last tried it? It's amazing! Thank you so much! (I'll refrain from describing it too much here, as I'll use it for my calendar entry tomorrow...)

MotherOfDragonite · 08/04/2020 10:42

Was it you @Boglins?? Or @Calmasasleepycat?

I'm in luuuuuuuurve.

KaliforniaDreamz · 08/04/2020 10:53

Mother it wasn't me but i have that too and love it.
I have so many PP rollerballs but i can't really be bothered with any of them apart from the vanilla one. Altho Busty the chanel dupe does amuse me...

I have ordered Choco Musk yoikes !

KaliforniaDreamz · 08/04/2020 10:55

Calm just read your entry - lovely thank you.
Weridly i was feeling rubbish this morning and the only thing that dragged me out of bed was the thought of my poetry shelf which i am now perusing... x

Calmasasleepycat · 08/04/2020 11:22

Mother, no it wasn’t me! But I’ve added it to my ever-expanding Perfume Parlour list.

My SOTD is Le Jardin de Monsieur McGregor. Today it’s all about raspberries and pipe tobacco. I don’t smell any earthy notes. Maybe he’s having a day off from digging today 😊

yoikes · 08/04/2020 12:19
