Well, its choco musk for me again today :)
I can see me getting another bottle of this.
Ds2 grinds too so he may need one at some point. Sigh.
Just been to pick up my fresh fruit that I forgot to order online and am happy to see pretty full shelves locally.
Next town over the shops look like they've been hit by a plague of locusts!!

ClientQueen · 12/03/2020 09:25

SOTD kyse douceur brulee. I smell like golden syrup

MotherOfDragonite · 12/03/2020 12:48

Scherzo is gorgeous, Flora! My very favourite MH.

SOTD is Hammersmith Tea & Biscuits by 4160 Tuesdays. It's pretty deluxe if you like tea and biscuits, as I do. I'm definitely going to need a full bottle.

I am wondering whether to blind buy Elie Saab Le Parfum for my sister, on the off chance that it would suit her for her early summer wedding. Does anyone have it? Like/dislike??

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 12/03/2020 19:57

SOTD FM POAL. I am a clencher, yoikes, which is why I ended up having masses of work a couple of years ago.the guard definitely helps.

Gutted about no school closures. I feel like teaching staff are being thrown to the wolves to protect NHS staff from needing time off work. By lunchtime today I had touched 20 people’s laptops, and in that 3.5 hours I was only able to wash my hands once.

Ellie saab is lovely mother

judy it's absurd isn't it? Most other countries are closing school but not us. Makes no sense to me.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 12/03/2020 20:48

I completely believe it’s to protect the economy and NHS staff, yoikes. BJ’s statement about people losing loved ones has really stuck in my craw.

Yeah, it's all a bit shit. I'm considering pulling my 2 out of school after this week. I feel very sorry for NHS & school staff.

yoikes · 12/03/2020 21:07

Yeah.
Me too :(

teta · 12/03/2020 21:10

I really am appalled at the UK decisions over Corona virus. I was in HK during Sars and it's very noticeable how seriously and differently the Sars afflicted countries have treated this virus ...and contained it.
We are doing nothing.
My dad - a retired doctor in his his 80's has realised he won't be treated some time ago ( due to the lack of ICU beds), so is now essentially waiting to die. My sister is a senior doctor and will be in the frontline and is very worried.
@Mother Elie Saab is beautiful orange blossom. I've had the EDP but the EDT is equally beautiful.
Sotd is Jasmine White Moss .

KaliforniaDreamz · 12/03/2020 21:36

I am in denial.

MotherOfDragonite · 13/03/2020 00:11

I almost can't believe what is happening here. The decisions being taken are barbaric. The fact they are now stopping testing the general public for coronavirus is also pretty terrifying as none of us will be aware of the true scale of things either nationally or in our local area.

I was going to take my children out from the end of this week anyway, and will most certainly still be doing so despite being scared of losing my DD's place at her lovely school.

MotherOfDragonite · 13/03/2020 00:13

teta, is there any chance your father can self-isolate now, or limit contacts?

yoikes · 13/03/2020 07:08

I'm going to have a hard time convincing ds1

KaliforniaDreamz · 13/03/2020 08:29

I do think the schools will shut soon.
i know people with kids who have other health issues who are already isolating them in case they come into contact with it. v sensible.
stay safe lovelies x

yoikes · 13/03/2020 08:33

I don't know if this will help any of you but I
E mailed ds1s respitory consultant and he is not worried about kids, even those with asthma.
He says to wash hands, use preventers and spacers.
Hope that reassures some of you xx

FloraMacDonald · 13/03/2020 08:46

It feels a bit like the dystopian fiction I read as a school kid in the late 80s. Partly absolute fear of the future, partly enjoying pop music on the radio while the sun shines.

On a lighter note: I tried some Swalley Blank when I was in town yesterday. It really didn't mix well with the Jazz Club I was already wearing!
Today's lucky dip is Connock Kukui which I didn't enjoy when I tried it previously. I thought it was far too green & woody. I'm loving it today though. It seems very light & white floral, but in a good way!

Right, off to disinfect the door handles & light switches again!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 13/03/2020 09:48

SOTD Diptyque Eau Duelle. Try the Swalley Blank on its own, flora, it really is lovely, although not right for this freezing weather. I think you and I might have quite similar tastes.

I think we are in a worse position than schools here, because I teach (mainly young) adults. I don't have "my own classroom" that I can keep on top of cleaning, and the throughput of people here is absolutely massive. Members of the public are in and out to use facilities, as well as the actual enrolled students. I feel a bit scared.

KaliforniaDreamz · 13/03/2020 09:52

Judy that is difficult. perhaps self isolate.

SOTD Shalimar for comfort.

yoikes · 13/03/2020 16:42

Scary times :(

Sotd 4160 timeless

yoikes · 13/03/2020 18:02

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 13/03/2020 22:25

Bluesheep8 · 14/03/2020 07:07

SOTD will be Rive Gauche today. I've got a boots voucher to spend and an thinking of putting it towards some Coco Mademoiselle as it's described as having a patchouli note. Opinions/descriptions of Coco Mademoiselle welcome......

yoikes · 14/03/2020 08:02

Sotd Prob choco musk today
I wear next eau nude which is apparently a dupe for coco mademoiselle...its very nice but I haven't smelt the original.

teta · 14/03/2020 09:46

Wore Eau d 'iparie yesterday for the rain and wind. It's definitely milder today so I will probably wear Estée Lauder private collection White Moss & Jasmine.
I'm looking forward to the spring Ffern, which has apparently been delayed due to the current Spanish restrictions.
@Mother you asked whether my Dad could isolate? He's already doing that. Pretty much the only thing he's doing is going for fresh fish once a week - very early. My mum goes to the supermarket very early once a week. We have discussed food deliveries but they're not keen/ don't fully understand. We're all staying away as they're not keen on seeing any children/ grandchildren due to the infection risk.
DH is very worried about the economic situation . They can't get the parts in China and so can't fulfill orders.
He's talking about redundancies.
Anyone got any cheerful news?

PearsMorgan · 14/03/2020 12:18

Erm...my garlic is up? That’s the most cheerful thing I can think of. Oh and I went for a run this morning and heard skylarks.

SOTD Geist sample from a perfume society box. Imperceptible so Do Son over the top.
