Just checking in as even on the web version this thread has fallen off my "Threads I'm on".

I'm hoping for some good outfits from Meghan while they're here. And suspect she'll wear whatever she wants and make no effort to conform to ridiculous DM-created rules about what's appropriate! I really just wish that Kate and William will step up and play the game and make them all look like happy families but while Kate might, William probably won't.

Sadly we're also probably due for Thomas Markle to pop up again - didn't he threaten to do so every month? And the news re the Royal word use will be a great opportunity for Piers and the gang to give him a call. Sigh.

I knew Estelle was the image of CPV but Oscar is exactly like his father!

Just seen the information about the Ireland trip next week.

I imagine that the 'Kate's-Green-Outfits' spreadsheet is being printed off as we speak...

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2020 13:13

I think she's out and about on Wednesday too. Something outdoorsy so it'll be skinners, boots and Barbour.

Is Meghan coming, I thought Harry would be her solo.

AngelaScandal · 24/02/2020 15:29

Polishing my ‘Royal Visit’ flag in preparation for Kate n’ Wills in Ireland 🇮🇪

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2020 16:32

W&K are going to the theatre tomorrow night so although it won't be a gown even, we should at least see a nice cocktail frock.

Royal look-a-likes

The Telegraph recently interviewed the Artistic Director of the National Theatre, who reported that Meghan remains engaged:

‘Norris added, “She is still very engaged, the conversations are regular and ongoing, there are ideas we are exploring. There has been no indication at all from her that her engagement with us would be anything other than business as usual—she has proven to be a very engaged patron, and we look forward to working with her.”

He went on to explain that Meghan was interesting in meaningfully engaging with the Theatre—not just keeping up appearances. “She has star reach, she understands the nature of what we’re trying to do. She has been interested in the learning work, the work in communities, the work around the country,” Norris said. “She’s less interested in coming here and going to a string of press nights. It’s a really in-depth engagement with the range of work we do.”

As for what shape that engagement might take, a royal source told the Telegraph that plans were in the works for a “much more substantive project” to come.‘
.........................................................................
Meghan is “expected to run her own series of private engagements” in addition to what has already been announced, like her appearance at:
The Endeavour Fund Awards on March 5
The Mountbatten Music Festival on March 7
an International Women’s Day event on March 8
The Commonwealth Day service on March 9

British Royal Jewels post about one of Diana’s sapphires. Apparently, an alternative healer she worked with claimed it was buried in the Kensington Palace garden to remove bad energy and then got lost.... there’s either one very happy ex-Royal gardener somewhere, or Kate needs to get those kids out there with their buckets and spades Grin

Did we ever resolve the origin of your name ?
Any dates or venues in Dublin re W&K's visit ?

eggandonion · 24/02/2020 19:24

Don't they usually begin with a trip to visit the president and his enormous dogs? They are going to Galway as well I think. I hope the weather is nice when they visit.

AngelaScandal · 24/02/2020 19:42

It’s wet in Galway. I hope one of the many green coats in waterproof

@beanaseireann 😂 no origin story there.
Scary fact though Frank from Bosco is now on a tv show giving amongst other things sex advice to young people. With Mary O’Rourke.

AngelaScandal · 24/02/2020 19:52

Michael D is going to look tiny next to Kate

thisenglishlife · 24/02/2020 20:30

Just for you @Boscoismyspiritanimal

The wee president looks tiny beside everyone, wee dote. She might consider packing her wellies, or they could always come to Cork where it was lovely this afternoon.

justasking111 · 24/02/2020 20:54

Wow that sapphire set.

MotherofPearl · 24/02/2020 22:23

CPM looking great - in ski clothes, of all things. This is in Switzerland where the children are currently doing a stint at that international school.

Pretty excited about the Ireland visit and about Meghan's upcoming engagements - we have been a bit starved of royal fashion of late.

Inniu · 24/02/2020 22:28

I love seeing Miggle D with the rugby players. Devon Toner practically has to curtesy.

But W&K will definitely have to crouch down to talk to him.

MrsMcGillicuddy · 24/02/2020 22:39

I enjoyed Meghan's style evolution link posted upthread. Love her style and will miss her outfits but at least we've got March to look forward to. Smile

The AOL Studios look is my favourite pre-royal one, and the 2018 Ireland visit one with the dusty pink coat and deep green skirt is my favourite post-royal and possibly all time favourite outfit of hers - it somehow looks both preppy and cosy, so dreamy!

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 24/02/2020 22:55

Diana was absolutely stunning. She had such style.

mathanxiety · 25/02/2020 05:51

Are the Aras dogs really huge or just huge by comparison?

eggandonion · 25/02/2020 08:30

They are giant dogs, St Bernard type of size.

Spudlet · 25/02/2020 08:32

They’re Bernese Mountain Dogs - not known for being a small breed Grin Around here, there are several that pull little carts. They turn up at the local posh Christmas tree place to deliver your chosen tree to your car!

eggandonion · 25/02/2020 08:39

They must be great ice breakers though, I'd be as happy to meet them as the president. I follow them on Twitter!
