Perhaps Camilla has run out of tights?

mrscampbellblackagain · 22/02/2020 11:06

I read that as free Kate as in free her from the royals

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/02/2020 11:20

So did I @mrscampbellblackagain!

I think the only upcoming event H&M are attending where other royals will be there is the Commonwealth Day service? And one hopes that everyone involved can put on a happy face for just a few hours!

I don't remember that yellow full-skirted dress if Kate's. It has a bit of a Liesl Von Trapp vibe to it.

I sort of hope it is like an episode of real housewives of new jersey Wink [low brow tastes]

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/02/2020 11:53

Real Housewives of Windsor, now there's a show I'd watch!

Real Housewives of Windsor, now there's a show I'd watch!

Oh yes, that'd be good! 😃

justasking111 · 22/02/2020 12:41

Remember Michelle Obama, always looks good. She would wear JJ Crew sweaters and they would sell out immediately. I think Meghan dresses beautifully when left alone. As do our foreign royals, we seem to be alone in what I can only call a fuddy duddy look. Now Diana knew how to be bang up to date in her later years. Do not think she was worried about the posterity effect. Diana left the sloane look behind.

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 22/02/2020 13:29

Didn’t Diana start dressing better post divorce? I always thought it was a sort of FO to the RF!

MotherofPearl · 22/02/2020 19:08

Looks like CPF has injured his arm. I must say I think QM is pretty stylish - I prefer her style to that of our own HMQ. Shock

MotherofPearl · 22/02/2020 19:09

Would help to post the photo! Confused

It's a skiing injury to his shoulder. Still looking pretty easy on the eye with it...

QueenOfTheAndals · 22/02/2020 19:29

CPF is over 50 but still looks so boyish!

Queen M looks pretty good in red there

Wetdogloveshubert · 22/02/2020 21:04

That supplement looks very similar to the book on HM's own clothing, published in 2019.

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/02/2020 08:37

I thought so too @Wetdogloveshubert.

Who's taken one for the team and bought the Mail today just to have a look at the Kate magazine??

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/02/2020 08:39

Agree re Queen Margrethe @MotherofPearl. I think her personality really comes across in the clothes she wears and I like the occasional flash of the theatrical/ dramatic that she goes for.

Queen I'll go and get one later (corner shop) but confess I'm still in bed and will need to straighten my hair before I leave the house! Bear with......Grin

frugalkitty · 23/02/2020 09:41

Result.....DS is going to make breakfast so is off to the shop for sausages.......I've added the Mail to his list, and will report back in a bit.

frugalkitty · 23/02/2020 10:12

Nothing earth shattering but the focus is on her three 'rules' which are apparently, accessible, sustainable and elegant. Some pics to demonstrate each point. Only one pretty montage of blues. I like the piece about the 'Kate effect' from designers who describe what happened after she tore something of theirs.

I don't think the Mail have grasped the principle of sustainability there!

I agree that DM and Claudia Joseph have no idea what they are talking about.

Sustainability in fashion is to with the entire manufacturing and transportation process being as ethical, fair and green as possible, it could also refer to vintage, secondhand and rented clothing.

ashtyler · 23/02/2020 15:39

I think they've spectacularly missed the point. It looks like they've searched for the outfits that fit their narrative. In actual fact, the percentage of clothes that are available to everyday people and that are sustainable is quite low.

It really feels like the KP PR machine is in overdrive at the moment. Fair enough, I like Kate, but it's a bit daft to make such a fuss about the fact that she reused a hand bag and rewore a dress Hmm

MotherofPearl · 23/02/2020 19:54

Thanks for posting those pictures @frugalkitty. It's interesting to see how she's being presented in the DM; the contrast with their depiction of the DoS could not be starker!

I'm very late to the party on this but finally getting round to reading Anne Glenconnor's book, which I'm thoroughly enjoying. I didn't realise she'd been briefly engaged to Johnnie Althorpe!

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/02/2020 20:29

Yes, interesting they've picked up on "sustainable" when it's actually Meghan who has fairly consistently worn clothes and jewellery by labels that pride themselves on sustainability and ethical practices, eg Outland Denim. Even the baby blanket the DM claimed was produced in a sweatshop wasn't - it was produced by a company that actually paid above the living wage in India and had decent conditions for the workers. If wearing something more than once = sustainability then we're all masters of it!
