They are lovely!
Have them both! Wear the 2nd for the marriage service and reception. Wear the second for the evening dancing.

minipie · 08/02/2020 17:58

First one, you look great front and back and arms look fab!

Second one is a bit net curtainy for me.

Which one would your OH prefer, in case that helps you decide?

brightbluesky · 08/02/2020 18:05

The second One is beautiful. Not kean on first, sorry, it reminds of a little girls flower dress x

Guacamole · 08/02/2020 18:06

The second one. The first one is just a bit boring (especially the back of it, very plain). I think you need to go a Size smaller in both though.

Ginbauble · 08/02/2020 18:11

Second one by a mile!

Kenworthington · 08/02/2020 18:12

Definitely the second one. It looks a bit vintagey. But get it taken in a bit at the waist. The sparkly one I think is the safe boring option although it looks nice it’s forgettable imo

74NewStreet · 08/02/2020 18:16

I prefer the first one.

dumbledoresAhhhmy · 08/02/2020 18:25

I really love the second one, I don't think it looks dated at all, it's really flattering and beautiful sleeves. It looks expensive!

istheresomethingwrongwithme · 08/02/2020 18:36

I wasn't sure until I saw the backs of both and that gave me more of an idea of the overall look of the dresses.

No 2 by a mile! No 1 is, as someone else said, forgettable. Perfectly nice but doesn't stand out. The second one is unusual and lovely, and I would normally like something like that but I love it!

Missushb · 08/02/2020 18:37

1st one properly fitted. It's lovely and you have a great figure.

snappycamper · 08/02/2020 18:43

I think the first one is way way better, the second one looks quite old fashioned. Your arms look amazing, don't worry about covering them.

raffle · 08/02/2020 18:44

Absolutely the 2nd one. It’s very lovely.

AriadneCrete · 08/02/2020 18:49

I prefer the second one and from your comments I think you do too. It looks gorgeous and really suits you. I don’t think it looks dated or like curtains at all!

minipie · 08/02/2020 18:54

Presume you’ve seen this one OP which is like the boho one in shape (has the v neck and cape) but plain satin rather than lacy?

Disfordarkchocolate · 08/02/2020 18:56

First one. I don't like the second one, it's ageing.

minipie · 08/02/2020 18:59

Having looked at the monsoon website I’ve changed my vote and would go for the lacy cape one, of your two.

Grumpbum123 · 08/02/2020 19:02

First one

mamamilkmachine · 08/02/2020 19:03

2nd for the ceremony and 1st for the reception....if you are having one. They are both lovely, wasn't too keen on number 2 until I seen the back

cptartapp · 08/02/2020 19:03

Agree with a pp, first one looks a bit tacky, would be ok for beach wedding. Second one (tailored) is far classier.

peachgreen · 08/02/2020 19:06

Second one is horrible, sorry! Don't know what PPs are seeing in it. The first one will be lovely once it's fitted and your arms are great so no worries there.

SweetMarmalade · 08/02/2020 19:11

Thank you all so much for giving your views, good, bad and indifferent.

Looking at my first photo, it really doesn’t do the lacy one justice. I feel that it looks far better in the flesh and I think that’s the one I’m going to go for.

Think less shiny, altered to fit better, flowing wavy hair, boho chic (sort of) look, wild flowers. Not sure on shoes and I know some of you said no necklace, not even a very fine chain? with a Swarovski Crystal or two?

2

74NewStreet · 08/02/2020 19:15

Good choice. Second one is very staid and aging.

peachgreen · 08/02/2020 19:15

Oh no, I feel bad now! I'm sure you'll look absolutely beautiful and if you're defending the second one then it's a good sign that it's the one for you and that's all that matters. Congratulations!

Ninkanink · 08/02/2020 19:15

Trusting your judgement of fabric as you’ve seen it in the flesh and it’s often quite hard to properly judge on photos. I think the second one is quite lovely, and sounds perfect for the vision you had, and if you’re happy that the fabric is good then I think stick with it, get it tailored, and don’t wear a necklace - there’s enough going on with the cape and lace and you don’t want to be cluttered. Earrings would be fine, and I agree with flowing hair and fresh flowers in your hair. You will never have a consensus as people’s tastes vary so much. Initially I thought number one but I actually think number two is more individual and since it appealed to you, probably more ‘you’.
