First one without a doubt. Really don't like the 2nd one it looks very old fashioned.

SweetMarmalade · 08/02/2020 15:35

I do know someone who could adjust with dress.

Perhaps I should have ordered a size smaller in the sparkle dress? The lacy one is new but from eBay.

I usually wouldn’t go for lace as I also just thought ‘nightie’ but when I tried that one on I was preferring that one. Not sure Confused

There is a sparkle to the lace one, can’t pick it up on the photo.

The second one is stunning! Not nightie like at all!

Both very lovely with a bit of adjustment. You've got a great figure and will look gorgeous!

teachandsleep · 08/02/2020 15:39

1st one

kerrynov7 · 08/02/2020 15:40

The second one is different - I like it. X

ElloBrian · 08/02/2020 15:41

I prefer the first one from the front (could you add a bolero, if you want sleeves?). I like the back of the 2nd more than I like the front; that style of appliqué is very ageing I think.

What kind of wedding is it? That context might swing it. A evening focused one or an urban venue would def be better with #1, but I can see #2 looking good on a summer lunchtime or in a country venue.

SweetMarmalade · 08/02/2020 15:43

It’s a budget wedding at a local registry office, hence budget dress. I’ll try and find the Monsoon link to the video of the lace dress.

2nd one with a bit of tailoring, it’s timeless not dated.

lavenderlove · 08/02/2020 15:45

2nd one by a mile, it's so different and lovely! I also think it will look great in photos and really make you stand out as the bride. I like the 2nd one too but I feel like I've seen it 100 times before

Elephantonascooter · 08/02/2020 15:46

From reading your updates, I can tell you that YOU are taken with the second one and that's what is most important! Both are lovely, I personally prefer the second one too. But the way you talk about it, you want the second one!

Lindy2 · 08/02/2020 15:46

I think they are both nice but I prefer the first one. If you want your arms covered you could have some kind of shrug or shawl. I'm sure Monsoon do some in their wedding collection.

I had a Monsoon wedding dress. It was very good quality and I felt so much more comfortable in it than wearing a very formal, bridal shop gown. Mine was a bit like your dress in picture 1 but with Pearl's rather than sparkles. I'm still very happy with it when I look back at the photos.

SweetMarmalade · 08/02/2020 15:47

Back of sparkle

The 2nd one is more ethereal, the first a bit more glam. Depends what your personality/style is I suppose.

You look gorgeous in them both but I love love love the 2nd one, it's gorgeous and just more individual.

stopshoutingd · 08/02/2020 15:49

The 2nd one is better around the waist & hips & looks nice from the back. You have a great figure & the arms & neckline are more modern & younger on the 1st one whereas the 2nd one is a bit frumpy around the neckline/bust.

Whoops75 · 08/02/2020 15:49

I prefer the first one .

I’m 45 and would wear it plus your arms are great so no need to hide them.

AnneKipanki · 08/02/2020 15:49

The first one is more of a party dress.
I do like them both.

Lindy2 · 08/02/2020 15:50

You prefer the second one.

Please go with the one you like the best. It is a very beautiful dress and not like any nightgown I've ever seen - where do some people's comments come from! 😂

The photo where you see the back shows the shape a bit better than in the original photo you posted. Either would be perfect for you.

SweetMarmalade · 08/02/2020 15:54

They’re both current and in Monsoon’s bridal wear collection.

I do love Monsoon.

They both look too big. Would keep looking.

Dozer · 08/02/2020 15:57

First one the skirt is swamping you.

Second one is retro in a bad way.
