My wardrobe needs that kind of attention. It's a mess ATM.

On t-shirts. I ventured into Huffer today, one of those brands I usually give a wide berth as I assume it's for people less than half my age Grin. But I found this tshirt and an orange and cream long sleeve They are so good, thick but not too thick, well made, stripes lined up properly.

Evening all.
I made a new fashion discovery (thanks to Sally Faye’s insta) yesterday. I wore high waisted black trousers, shoes boots and a thin grey Whistles giraffe print sweater. I put on my Comptoir de Cotonniers grey coat with it but felt as though I was going to the office, so I put my Whistles leather biker under the smart coat and it instantly toughened things up and felt more me. Finished off with LKB shoe boots and my Longchamp chain bag.
miniShop has a play date straight from school tomorrow so Monday may be wardrobe sort out day.

Themarvellousmrsm · 19/01/2020 23:11

Sounds like a great outfit Shop but did it not feel a bit bulky?

Fierce shoes Applefairy

Think you're right Lib, should probably hang onto the stripes-maybe just retire them for a season. The one you've purchased has a fresh look about about, it's lovely.

Ootd was not as stylish as shop maison scotch blue jeans, Oliver Bonas pink batwing jumper, black Chelsea boots (dune?), grey cashmere scarf and black leather biker jacket then pj's from about 5.30pm!

libertyonhertravels · 20/01/2020 00:54

Fab outfit shop. Like marvellous I'm nervous about layering jackets as I think I'd look huge but with your height it works really well.

More of shops I wouldn't normally visit - I bought a tank top in Kathmandu this weekend - I was in there to buy hiking shoes. I can't find a link but it's a great shape and made of a mix of organic cotton and hemp. Wearing it to work today tucked into a navy pencil skirt. Goes to show it's worth trying different places every so often.

That’s a fabulous outfit Shop! After linking the Maje skirt which I am in love with, i realised that i own quite a few skirts that I just don’t wear, so decided to resist yet another one. However it did force me to pick out a River Island pleather mini skirt which has been lounging in the wardrobe for about 2 yearsBlush. Wore it with black cashmere sweater over a black me & em layering top. Dh said I looked hot so I will take that.Grin.

Today back to classic me, black Ted Baker floral dress with my black MaxMara cashmere coat and my black MK jetset bag. Love the outfit but I am disappointed as I run out of the house late and didn’t properly think about footwear. I will be hoping no one looks down as i chucked on my suede boots and the shape is all wrong. First world problems eh!

Hope you all have a lovely day Smile

It’s so annoying when you feel like you just missed nailing an outfit.

Someone asked re WIT - she has instagram in her real name still. I’ll post a photo of print clash I like.

I went to an art exhibition today with the DCs - I wore Uniqlo black linen-blend dress (much longer on me in RL and I don’t use the belt), some high platform wooden and black wedges and a grey structured bag with gold bits (old Sophie Hulme Albion one) - tried to look arty/ bohemian with my glasses, red lipstick and messy bun.....but my DCs stared and asked me ‘why are you dressed like that?’ Grin I love their honesty!

The Uniqlo dress is highly recommended for summer - smart enough for my office on extremely hot days and I also wore it to a NYE pool party on a hot/humid night (gold sandals and bag).

Am around now Marsha but guess it's a bit late now.

Fab outfit Apple- I'd so wear that too

shopafrolic · 20/01/2020 17:19

It wasn't bulky MrsM as my biker is super soft leather, and the grey CdC coat isn't lined :)
Lovely dress Apple DCs and DHs can be brutally honest I find Grin but the outfit sounds great to me.

MarshaBradyo · 20/01/2020 17:25

MrsM it was these. I’m really not sure, might be too much

Ooo love the sunnies Marsha - should look really good with your hair colour-do you suit the frame shape?

T shirt is lovely too-just need the weather in which to wear it.

Advice needed please on foundations, well on BB/CC creams, foundation drops, tinted moisturiser - the list of products is endless! Currently use YSL touché eclat tinted moisturiser but the format has changed and seems a bit heavy for my liking (for daywear) also use Bare Minerals powder foundation but feel I'd like something lighter and more natural for everyday use and makes me look less haggard. After a good rummage in Boots I came away empty handed as couldn't make a decision! Does anyone use BB or CC creams on their own?

Karcheer · 20/01/2020 19:28

Ootd sound so glam compared to mine, I had to take my dog to a specialist today so knew I’d spend some time on the floor holding onto him, so I wore this in pink, black jeans and my New black boots.

DryWhiteagainW · 20/01/2020 21:14

Marvellous Trinnys BBF cream is great.

Apple I have that Uniqlo dress, such a great basic. You made me want to wear it....but it’s freezing and January so maybe not Grin

shopafrolic · 21/01/2020 07:33

Marvellous I'd recommend Trinny London BFF cream or Erborian CC cream, both have glowy, good coverage and SPF.
I've also just started using this - scroll down which isn't a tan as such, more of an even out and make you glow and look healthy. I've been told I look 'well' several times since using which I haven't heard for years so it must be good.

libertyonhertravels · 21/01/2020 08:37

How do you use the tan stuff shop? Just on it's own or under / over usual moisturizer or serum?

OP posts:
MarshaBradyo · 21/01/2020 08:45

Thoughts on t and sunnies welcome! Not sure it’s because they are bad
Fine to say

libertyonhertravels · 21/01/2020 08:51

marvellous I use the Erborian CC cream with Laura Mercier Candleglow powder or Laura Mercier tinted foundation with Hourglass ambient powder. Like all of them. My skin is getting drier - I'm assuming age related so needing to drink more water and use good moisturizer.

I'm loving Drunk Elephant lala retro whipped cream here. I feel it's made a big difference. I also like Kiehl's ultra facial cream. I think if your skin isn't dry, make-up sits much better.

Sorry Marsha, missed your post!

I love the t-shirt, I vote keep!

I like the colour of the frames of the sunnies, not sure about the colour / tint of the lenses. But that could be the photo. They don't look quite right to me with the tone of the frames.

OP posts:
Applefairy · 21/01/2020 09:08

Another vote for Erborian cc cream. Also I like Nars tinted moisturiser if I don’t want to feel like I have makeup on, but I want to make more of an effort.

I am keen to try the tanluxe and the lala cream too as I’ve heard lots of good things about them.

Love all the striped tee links.

Themarvellousmrsm · 21/01/2020 10:04

Like the sound of those tan drops-looks like you mix them in with your moisturiser Lib. My skin is much drier than it used to be too - definitely aged related 😢

Am hoping to get to some decent shops later this week so will pop into Space NK to look at the drops and Cc cream you're all recommending. Shame they don't stock any of Trinnys range as would like to try before I buy.

Ootd: MV black slim fit jeans, Modern Rarity light grey cashmere jumper with a black vest underneath (sooo cold) black Chelsea boots and tan mulberry hobo. I was using a black bag but decided to break up the black with tan - go me🤣

shopafrolic · 21/01/2020 11:28

Not these tan drops Marvellous - you don't mix them. They are in a hyaluronic serum. Their regular tan drops are the ones that you mix.
Lib I wash face in morning, tone or spritz. Wait until skin is dry and then half a pipette applied in circular motion to face. Wait 20 mins before putting on moisturiser etc.
If you want a proper tan (as opposed to a healthy glow) then use their regular tanning drops that Marvellous is referring to.

Marsha I can see you in the tee but not the sunnies.

shopafrolic · 21/01/2020 11:38

this is the tanning one that you add to moisturiser

Themarvellousmrsm · 21/01/2020 12:18

Ah I was looking at the wrong one-it's the healthy glow I'm after

MarshaBradyo · 21/01/2020 12:53

Thanks v much for feedback (and releasing me from thread paranoia 😂) I’ve ordered the t and pjs and not the sunnies.

I am reading with interest re make up as I have none after two years break and need to stock up on everything. Going to Space NK this weekend.
