Sorry haven't caught up with the whole thread but did anyone else notice that only the Telegraph chose to print, on the front page, a pitstain picture of Meghan? And I thought that it was one of the papers she was happy with that would get stories not going to the Royal Rota??

I don't think they have any option but to 'fence sit' to be honest. Harry will be the son of King Charles, he will always require security no matter what he does with his life. If they follow the philanthropic model very common in America than can do some real good.

I genuinely feel sorry for Kate. Whenever school acquaintances etc have been asked about her, they have always said how nice she was, not a negative word that I've ever seen. So I don't think that she is a difficult person to get along with and judging by the tennis and church photos early on, she made an effort and got on fine with Meghan. Something changed and now her birthday will be full of stress and angst due to odd timing.

Agree with Banivani. Also, I think BP's statement was silly, they didn't need to say anything at all.

What's the difference between Meghan and Harry making money whilst being royal, and Beatrice/ Eugenie doing the same? There's no way they'd have got their current jobs without their connections.

I stand corrected then on Edward but honestly, the 'duties' are not what I would call work though I appreciate it is hard work but not exactly like the hard work of a care worker/ nurse/ teacher. That's why I want them modernised or abolished!

I think ( no actual knowledge) that M & H have been appalled at how the court reporters have treated her especially and how the Andrew scandal has been handled and they don't want to be associated with it any more. M is genuinely imo committed to equalities and women's rights and empowerment and Andrew doesn't sit easily with that. He has had no real flack from the RF about his poor judgement ( at best). And with no constitutional role and a hell of a lot of heirs before him Harry isn't needed

The problem is neither Charles or the Queen strike me as being able to address this head on. If I was the Queen I'd have had Harry in my office first thing this morning!!

The Instagram manager for SussexRoyal needs to wish Kate a Happy Birthday. The KP press person managed it for MM and PH so silly to miss it out - just adds fuel and speculation. And you can believe Kate is having to soothe a stressed husband on her birthday. “Thanks for the Cartier darling, please stop thumping the wall, the taxpayer paid a lot for that Zoffany.”

On a well managed £34m the Sussexes can pay market rent on Frogmore and pay for security themselves. If it were making a crap 2% a year they would get £680k for nothing. 4% is the least most IMs make for their clients. So they can afford to live without working at all. They shouldn’t NEED taxpayer money with that wealth. They just want it so they get to be celebrities that can keep up with the Clooneys.

On the upside, free dresses means great clothes that the FO doesn’t pay for. More!
