I don't understand how someone as pretty as Meghan with a lovely figure can look as bad as she does in that Brown outfit. The outfit looks so badly fitted and the colours are drab on her. When she gets it right she looks fantastic but so often her clothes look like they are the wrong size. She is an Apple show and really in my opinion does not dress for her shape at all. I am an Apple too and if I tuck in a top to my skirt it fits badly because my waist is simply too short to let it sit right.

Her usually lovely hair looks like it needs a trim and a bit ratty too lots of split ends, I wish she would let out her natural curls as I think that would look gorgeous.

Bare legs in January is crazy, considering it is the season winter. It looks wrong.

I really struggle to see why anyone would get het up about a few inches of bare leg. I do like these threads but I think it's possibly for us to be a bit too nit picky sometimes.

I don't deny that H&M have made mistakes in the past but I think it's fair enough to give them a second chance. Let's see what the next few weeks and months brings!

It was mid teens in London today and why should a woman wear tights if she doesn't want to? Clearly Meghan wasn't feeling the cold. It's balmy compared to a Toronto winter.

Meghan is wearing a nice modern outfit. Imo a modern European royal look. High street satin skirt - check. Monochrome - check. Simple, aspirational. I’m not so keen on the jumper either, I don’t think it’s her best brown? Can’t see any sweat stains myself 🤔 but I’ll take your word for it - she’s probably mortified but sure what can you do, we all sweat and some fabrics show it.

The coat is wrinkly I agree and I’d be pissed off considering what Stella McCartney costs! Other than that - wrinkles happen.

Don’t think bare legs are any weirder than wearing high heels and massive coats, everyone looks lopsided. Such a warm winter!

Her hair looks fine. She is black and that’s what hair looks like.

In other news I can recommend Good Witch on Netflix - delightedly shite tv - in particular season 5 ep 6 which is a thinly veiled Harry and Meghan story. So bad!!!

Her natural hair must be beautiful. I too wish she would wear it like that, at least on occasions. She would look amazing.

Well said @banivani. Yes, "modern" is a good way to describe Meghan's style. What she wears is more akin to what Letizia and CPM wear and they never look staid.

As someone who works in PR I wouldn't want to be responsible for sorting out the mess they're in. It's going to take some serious work to turn public view around.

It’s not her hair - she has extensions in. Her hair was shoulder length in the Christmas card!

@QueenOfTheAndals I agree about nit picking but I think 90% of the comments on these threads are genuinely about the wearers clothes style etc. and not meant to be a personal criticism of the individual.

Yes, the hair does look longer. That would explain the dead look it has.

Literally can’t see any explanation or precedent for a member of the royal family organising and publicizing a visit to an embassy you say thank you after a private holiday.

It’s so weird. Attention-grabbing, obviously, but also completely weird. Do they have no self-awareness?

Meghan looks really good. The 6 week holiday has been good for her - she looks as though she has lost some baby weight. Her face also looks different, especially her eyes - my first thought when I saw her was than she had had some work done while away from the public eye.

I think that the outfit was a bit confused - I liked some of the pieces individually but not together

• mid length winter coat (I like)
• high neck jumper (OK ish - but better with trousers or tailored skirt)
• long length shiny, floaty summer skirt (not a fan)
• bare legs (no opinion either way)
• velvet shoes (love these)

It was rather confused between cold day/mild day and with clashing lengths.

Still cannot work out the purpose of the visit so the PR message is also confused.

Oh I know @MrsGrindah but the endless talk about tights does feel a bit too picky!

In the spirit of the thread, however, I’ll concede her make-up is very beautiful and she looks glowing. Wish I looked so well-rested after Christmas, lucky them!
