@Ellapaella you look great, enjoy your day Smile

happytobemrsg · 21/12/2019 14:47

Wearing my Christmas jumpers while I can! This is super old but very comfy & sparkly. Off to a vegan pie & mash shop with DH for lunch- looking forward to giving it a go (DH is vegan, I’m toying with becoming vegetarian).

Jumper- H&M
Leather Leggings - Mint Velvet
Boots- M&S
Necklace- Oliver Bonas

Re sequin skirt, yes it’s sparkly but because it’s completely black I’m hoping I can get away with it (although I’m very jealous of your green skirt @Talisin)

@OublietteBravo I’ve got that jacket (wore it to the work Christmas party last year) and I love it. Definitely keep it, it’s so unusual and Gorgeous. I really regret not buying the matching trousers at the time.

Ninkanink · 21/12/2019 16:48

(Sorry kinda crashed the thread there but I got all excited at seeing ā€˜my’ jacket!)

Lots of lovely outfits here. Smile

I’ve been so good lately, I bought three items in the BF sales and nothing since! Haven’t even really looked at all and actually haven’t missed it.

PalacePaper · 21/12/2019 18:44

Thank you for the coated jeans recommendations. We're going into town for the panto tomorrow so I'm going to try and sneak a quick look in Next to see if they have any.

I'm very envious of your sequinned skirts, they're all lovely. I definitely think they can be worn to brighten up January.

@Sooverthemill lovely cardigan. I'm very pleased with my new warehouse cardigan, in fact I'm wearing it now...

@OublietteBravo that jacket is beautiful Smile

Today I wore my teal pinafore from Dorothy Perkins with black DMs - I posted a photo on the old thread so I haven't taken another one.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 21/12/2019 20:57

This is soooo outing, but I love this thread!

Mine (what I wore today) is all from River Island (2018) when leopard print was huge 😬
Coated black skinny jeans - hard to see in picture.

My son in 'next' Xmas Smile

What is the Stylebook app?

Talisin · 21/12/2019 23:12

@twosoups1972 it’s a wardrobe cataloguing app available in ios. Does lots of clever things and can be a bit of a time sink when you first set it up as you spend ages trying to track down pictures of your clothes to add to it (you can also add your own photos). You can keep a calendar of what you wear each day and it’ll work out what you wear most or don’t wear at all. It has a packing section (which I’ve never used) and it can suggest outfits. Mostly I use it to create a layout of my outfit for the day.

happytobemrsg · 21/12/2019 23:12

Oh @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet I LOVE a bit of leopard print!

@twosoups1972 it’s an app which you upload photos of all your clothes to & it helps you create outfits/mood boards. It also has helpful information like cost per wear.

So I’m not sure if this counts as cheating on my ā€œno spendā€. I mentioned to DH a jumper I have been lusting after I Mint Velvet since the autumn collection came out. It was too expensive for me to buy but I kept looking at. It’s now gone down to Ā£50 in the sale & is only in stock in my size. DH said it’s a sign & I should buy it so I mentioned my no spend pact. So he told me he’d get it for me for Christmas! Super excited & feeling very lucky

Lots of lovely outfits on here yesterday, @Talisin I love your fair isle jumper! And I now feel I’m not festive at all, j no o sparkles or Christmas jumpers here!

Yesterday I wore
Bamboo/cashmere zip hoody in green
Jeans from Mango
Pewter Derby shoes
Pringle socks
Leather jacket

I’m up now because I drank too much wine

Softpebbles · 22/12/2019 07:04

Yesterday I wore molly coated skinnies, all saints t-shirt, jack wills cropped cardigan, silver cons.

Had a family day and got a few jobs done!

Just deciding what to wear today. I’m dragging DH shopping as I need some t-shirts as jumpers for me are a no go at the moment.
My pact for 2020 is I am thinking of limiting my online shopping. So much I order gets returned. I ordered a few bits in the next sale but realistically half of it won’t be right. It’s become to easy to order things and I have plenty in my wardrobe. If I there is in one thing I really would like it is black trainers to wear casually with jeans.

Splodgetastic · 22/12/2019 08:22

You all have lovely figures and I suspect you would look good in a sack - I think I’ve got the opposite of body dysmorphia as I think I look okay in the mirror but when I take a photo it’s a different story! But this thread is giving me lots of inspiration and I wore a jacket from BananaRepublic which I hadn’t worn for a while on Friday with a more recent dress from Hobbs.

KiteflyingKat · 22/12/2019 08:24

@Softpebbles I read an article recently about how so many returns go straight to Landfill so the culture of ordering & returning is really damaging to the environment. Plus the impact of all those delivery vans on the road!

Happierwithouthim · 22/12/2019 09:26

Yesterday m&s star print red light knit jumper from 2 years ago with M&S black ivy skinny jeans & slippers

Today I'm thinking of sequin top from river island last year with same jeans & boots from primark

Currently in my Christmas pjs Grin

@Always you look fab
@Laska sounds good hope ye are happily managing living together full time

PalacePaper · 22/12/2019 09:36

We're off to the panto today so I've dug out an old Boden dress which always makes me feel Christmassy Xmas Smile

Can't decide on boots though - I really want to wear black DMs as they'll be comfy and I love them, but not sure I can pull off that look so will probably wear my suede ones instead...

Might also add a sparkly necklace for added Christmassy-ness.

Happy Sunday everyone Grin

Gorgeous @PalacePaper

Miseryisabutterfly · 22/12/2019 10:31

@KiteflyingKat thanks for posting that link. I had no idea. Definitely will make me think twice about future purchases.

Sooverthemill · 22/12/2019 10:39

@misery not all retailers do dump returns like that though. It's one of the reasons I do my best ( not always succeeding) to buy from retailers who have decent sustainability policies. More often more expensive though.

OublietteBravo · 22/12/2019 11:18

I decided to keep the jacket. It’s beautiful, and I’m bound to wear it.

I’m in town having coffee with DD and DH. I don’t think I actually have to do anything today. Although present wrapping has to happen soon.

Jumper: Warehouse
Trousers: Boden
Trainers: Hobbs

I’m finding it so hard to stay away from online shopping. I think it’s probably as green for me to order things online and return them as it is for me to travel to the nearest place with shops. I’m fairly sure that the places I shop don’t dump returns - I often see the item re-listed shortly after my refund notification arrived. But I do tend to be able to afford more expensive brands these days.

Shopping our Wardrobes! Outfit of the Day Thread
KiteflyingKat · 22/12/2019 12:30

Yes I imagine it’s probably the cheaper brands that dump returns - probably isn’t worth the cost of sorting Through Ā£9.99 dresses etc. You’d think they could just ship them off to charity in bulk though.

I used to work in a shop which sold brands along the lines of Ted Baker, French Connection, that kind of price point and it was surprising what the cost price of the item was compared to the retail price, I can’t remember any figures as it was years ago but often shockingly low.
So that item you’ve paid Ā£100 for from Reiss, Whistles etc probably only cost a few ££ to produce, although obviously there’s the cost of the selling process, renting stores, employees etc etc

KiteflyingKat · 22/12/2019 12:30

@PalacePaper that dress is a really flattering style on you, you look lovely

KiteflyingKat · 22/12/2019 12:36

Today New Look Jeans, cashmere hoody which is the cosiest thing I have ever owned.
