Some lovely outfits & @OublietteBravo your legs look amazing in those leggings!

I also loved Dolcis in my youth. It was fashionable to wear big chunky heels and I walked miles each day with big heeled school shoes. Youth today should be grateful flats are in fashion Grin

So last night I decided to advance plan my outfits for the Christmas period as I don’t want to get so busy and flustered I end up in the same old leggings and a hoody for the next 12 days! So I laid them all out and took photos. @happytobemrsg I need the Stylebook app really!

KiteflyingKat · 20/12/2019 12:48

@myidentitymycrisis thank you, the blouse was a charity shop bargain quite recently

PinkDaydreams · 20/12/2019 12:50

@KiteflyingKat we need pictures of your upcoming outfits! Grin

KiteflyingKat · 20/12/2019 12:55

@Pinkdaydreams I will post the pictures each day. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to take pictures of me wearing the outfits too as they look a bit random laid on the floor!

Happierwithouthim · 20/12/2019 17:54

@Laska2Meryls hi Smile
Did you get your camper? Do you still have super cool hair?

My clothes at the moment wouldn't win any awards
Shoes ASICS
Leggings Nike black running tights(my sis passed them on pre ds & he's 6 just shows paying for branded sportswear is worth it
Hoodie bought from my local bootcamp class to raise money for breast cancer awareness

happytobemrsg · 20/12/2019 21:09

The Stylebook app helps me plan all of my outfits in advance @KiteflyingKat it really helps me get out of a rut.

Wanted to wear my Christmas jumper today as it’s the last day at work.

Jumper - H&M
Jeans - Gap
Belt - Gucci
Boots - M&S

Very serious question. Do you think it’s ok to wear a black sequin mini skirt with a jumper, during the day, after Christmas?? It’s my Christmas Day outfit & feel sad I’m only wearing it the once

OP posts:
Sooverthemill · 21/12/2019 08:06

@happytobemrsg I think it's okay! Not to the gym...

Talisin · 21/12/2019 08:16

@happytobemrsg a question near and dear to my own heart! My feeling is: ā€˜twixmas, no problem. Jan/Feb if really dressed down then yes (although it’s one where I like it on other people but just feels wrong for me to do it for some reason).

Anyway, speaking of sequin minis:

Black oversize jumper (Next)
Green sequin skirt (Oasis)
Boots (New Look)

Talisin · 21/12/2019 08:18

Actually, thinking on it a bit more, a black sequin mini is practically a neutral so can be worn anytime...

Sooverthemill · 21/12/2019 08:53

@Tallisin I like your thinking!

We are going out today, will have quick lunch in our favourite cafe and then a mooch in the shops for stocking fillers. First actual physical trip to the shops this Christmas for me ( although last time DH bought my present )

Cardigan: brand new and I love it warehouse sale bargain
Jeans: old Boden skinny velvets
Shoes: kurt Geiger when I go out will probably be grey leather ankle boots with a chunky heel ( and if it's still raining) my Merrill rain coat or my French connection puffa coat

Looking forward to going out as it's been a hard couple of weeks with DD being super poorly. Luckily we have a trusted sitter

Sooverthemill · 21/12/2019 09:14

And now with photo!

Btw the warehouse cord boiler suit arrived and while do like it I'm not 100% sure about physically taking it off! It's also quite thick material. Both DDs love it so I'm going to test run it later with labels on getting it on and off quickly! If I can manage it once I get the hang of it I will keep. I do like it

@happytobemrsg I think sequin skirt would look fine dressed right down with jumper, thick tights and doc martens say. Guess it depends what you are up to. Some people in my office would possibly wear that kind of thing.

I probably wouldn’t as not sure I’d carry it off and DH would make a comment I tend to be over-conscious about being over dressed, even though I know I shouldn’t care what other people think.

Speaking of over-dressed / inappropriately dressed I saw a woman at a National Trust country park this week in huge stilettos - she looked like she was on a date possibly so maybe trying to impress & didn’t realise they were going for a country walk Shock

@Sooverthemill another comfy cardigan. Unfortunately all the chunky cardigans people are buying on this thread are autumnal colours and would not suit me (not been analysed but 99% sure I’m winter and I look best in black, white or bold jewel type colours).

Today I’m in my (kind of) festive jumper from Clements Ribeiro (via TK Maxx), Topshop Jeans, Diesel high tops (also TK Maxx bargain)

It’s essentially this dress with a black or grey cropped roll neck jumper on top. I really love it. Our head of department at work wears some crazy stuff so I’m even wondering if I could get away with it at work with black tights & Chelsea boots. I see Sarah from SBS wearing sequins a lot & rock it...

@Talisin you have some lovely sequin skirts. I think it’s because I’ve never worn them before, I’m a bit self conscious

Thank you @Laska2Meryls - so joined this thread hoping it would inspire me to be a bit more adventurous with my outfits. It’s so easy to get into a rut of just wearing the same thing all the time. Now my ankle is recovered enough to wear heels again I suddenly have more options. I find mentally going through my wardrobe and planning outfits is a helpful thing to do when I’m awake due to insomnia.

@Sooverthemill - nice cardigan. I increasingly find Warehouse is my default for knitwear.

Sooverthemill · 21/12/2019 11:07

@happy that looks great, give it a try
@KiteflyingKatlove the jumper! I used to be a spring ( colour me beautiful told me in 1991) but I recently did a free analysis online and I came up as a summer. Confused.

OublietteBravo · 21/12/2019 11:09

Definitely casual today.
Jumper: Warehouse
Jeans: Gap
Boots: Celtic & Co
Coat: Mountain Warehouse

(@KiteflyingKat - you realise I take several photos and only post the most flattering one - right? I’m not sure I look quite as good in the leggings in RL Grin)

I’m watching the answers to the sequin skirt question with interest, and wondering if the same rules apply to sparkly jumpers...

twosoups1972 · 21/12/2019 12:10

I really need this thread! I'm always tempted to buy new but I do have some nice things in my wardrobe that need wearing more.

Some lovely outfits on here Smile I'm not dressed yet (!) but will try and post later.

OublietteBravo · 21/12/2019 12:16

I’m trying to decide whether or not to keep this jacket. It’s beautiful - much nicer in RL than in the photos. But can I really justify spending Ā£127 on a jacket (I bought it when there was an extra 25% of sale items)? I need to make a decision one way or the other today.

It's beautiful @OublietteBravo

Something you could easily dress up or down. I'd keep it!

Sooverthemill · 21/12/2019 12:46

@Oubliette jacket is fabulous and you know what good quality Hobbs is! I've been trying on some knitwear from them today which is I think 11 years old! Go for it

Ellapaella · 21/12/2019 13:31

@OublietteBravo I love that jacket - it's absolutely gorgeous!

Today we are off to the panto the out for tea. Definitely an occasion for my sparkly Allsaints jumper and new sparkly Hush high tops
