Keeping up the festive spirit today.. sparkly Allsaints jumper, star print dress from Tu, hush high tops and AS biker

Thank you for the comments on my red dress, I love wearing it but it only really comes out at this time of year. I should probably wear it more often

I'd really appreciate some opinions on this outfit - I managed to get to next before the panto and they had the coated leggings @happytobemrsg recommended in my size. To be honest I was expecting to think they were too tight but I think I might actually like them - what do you all think? And would you wear them with something this sort of length or does the top need to cover the bum?? Help!

(I've tried to take one of the pictures a bit lower down as my short legs always look even shorter on these outfit photos )

@PalacePaper I practically live in those coated jeans/leggings all winter. I think they're fab on you.
I think you can wear both long and short tops with them. I usually wear short and don't cover the bum.
I think the exception is actual leggings, the type you'd wear to the gym (if you were to wear them in public)

Yeah the coated jeans are fine with short or long top/jumper, the faux leather leggings I prefer to wear with something covering my bum. I wear both with a long charcoal grey cardigan at times as well.

They look great on you @PalacePaper. I treat them like normal trousers so long or short tops are fine

@PalacePaper my rule of thumb is if your "trousers" have pockets you don't need to cover your bum. It's just the ones like leggings and I'm fussy about my fat tummy too. You look fab, honest. As I said to DD1 today no one else is as critical of how you look as you are about yourself.

I agree; trousers are fine without bum covered but I personally wouldn’t wear leggings without a longer top, especially as many leggings can be see-through

I’m in the office. We have our Christmas breakfast today, so I’ve borrowed a sparkly top from DD. I’m not sure the outfit works though. I can manage the jumper with a dress look, but I struggle with the cardigan with a skirt look. Perhaps I should’ve worn jeans....

I had a bug over the weekend and am still feeling delicate. I am dressed for comfort again today. I'm now a day behind in cleaning the house! Our 'tree' is up and a wreath but that's it! I also panicked myself into thinking it was Christmas Eve today.

I’m having an indoors day today. Dd (4.5m) has a cough and cold. She keeps sicking after every cough. This may not be my only outfit.

And I’m actually wearing these Hobbs boots which were £12 in charity shop brand new and are the softest leather (not the grey TU ones I laid out when I outfit planned & took the photos)

Thanks everyone, I'm keeping the coated jeans Wearing then today with my dyed jumper but I think I prefer them with something slightly longer. Will wear with my DMs if I go out - which is looking unlikely!

@PalacePaper I like that you dyed that jumper to give it a new lease of life. I tried to dye a Ghost dress once and it went badly wrong (the dress took the dye but the stitching didn’t so I ended up with a deep red dress with white stitching on all the seams)

Is everyone ready for Christmas, outfits and all? We don’t dress right up, but I’ll wear something a bit sparkly.

Thank you to everyone who has posted on these threads. I know some people probably think they are daft, but they’ve really helped me come out a post-baby rut and find my love of clothes and start to make an effort again.

Next year I want to continue with the outfit planning but also I want to sort my face and hair out too One thing at once though ........

Got these boots from Tesco, only £15 what a steal! Wearing them tonight plus Christmas jumper and black skinnies for meal out with the in-laws.
