I saw George sitting in the front and thought, "ooh, that's putting the cat among the pigeons". Then logged onto twitter. First post I saw about the royals arriving comments on George's seat. hahahahahaha.

[in case it's not clear, I'm with William an Kate on this - DS sits in the front all the time. Previously with a booster or proper seat and now just on the seat as he's 150cm]

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 18/12/2019 13:24

Love those photos.
Louis has lost all his babyishness from the balcony this summer.

Prince Edward is really starting to look like the Queen’s cousin; the Duke of Gloucester.

I love Sophie in 🤓 specs! And looks like lady Louise has discovered GHDs

Prince Andrew looks like a detective in those pics.

NoGravyForYou · 18/12/2019 13:29

Oh we have a Christmas card!

I like it!

itswinetime · 18/12/2019 13:36

Very cute Cambridge family pic there! Just looking a Louis face though I'm guessing it was taken In the summer?

StCharlotte · 18/12/2019 13:39

I'm daydreaming that Kate's had a haircut but I think that picture is just teasing me.

I'd love to see the full tartan outfit Kate has on.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 18/12/2019 13:40

Squeee!!! They look so adorable. Love the motorbike and sidecar.

ajandjjmum · 18/12/2019 13:44

Haven't the children changed facially - still absolutely adorable of course! Smile

itswinetime · 18/12/2019 13:45

I don't know @StCharlotte there might have been a bit of a trim it looks like quite a flicky hair style but still it's definitely touching her shoulders which is shorter than it was in the merry berry documentary

Oh that card is adorable - and I came on here after seeing the cutest photo of Louis in the DM - he reminds me of my son at that age, they are so cute and cuddly, and in no time at all they are 7!!!!

I watched the Mary Berry show with DD last night - it was so good. I thought Kate did an excellent job and William was great. It was lovely to hear him talk about giving back, it is so weird, it was like he heard me!!! But I always focus on the idea that those who have most should always give back to society, and I try to live that myself.

He seemed so engaged, as did Kate (wasn't it weird how he calls her Catherine, I wonder did he always do that since they met??? - does anyone on here know them and could tell us?). It was a PR coup - their PR person should get a massive Christmas bonus and it was a great idea. And Mary was so gorgeous - DD said she is like the female David Attenborough with her soothing voice.

itswinetime · 18/12/2019 13:58

Second look with some different shots and I think it may have just been a trick of the light/curls.

Shame we can't see more of the outfit it's a good colour on her and it looks like there is none of the ott bows and frills she can get sucked into sometimes.

Louis looks a lot like George now and has already changed a lot since the Christmas card photo was taken, presumably in the summer.

@Annasgirl No, William very clearly calls her Kate a couple of times in their engagement interview.

Thanks Queen - that's what I thought, I remember the interview and think we would all have gone who? if he had said Catherine.

My MIL and all the other IL's call my DH by a different name and when I am with them I have to use it so they know who I am talking about and it is a real pain to have to call someone by a different name in different settings, so I was more attune to that than some people might be.

DontFearTheReaper · 18/12/2019 14:11

Kate looks so like her mum with lighter, shorter hair. Initially in one of those pics I thought it was Carole in the car.

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/12/2019 14:19

From the article linked upthread: "William and Kate also arrived separately for unknown reasons, despite coming in the same car for last year's event." Now that wouldn't be the Mail trying to stir things up, surely?

OP posts:
itswinetime · 18/12/2019 14:23

The mail stir things up never Hmm

Popular opinion on Twitter/Instagram is that Kate is wearing a version of this Emilia Wickstead dress I don't know how anyone can be sure from swing a shoulder but she is Wickstead fan so it's possible

I want to know more about Zara's dress!

It must be fun being a minor royal and getting perks like the Christmas lunch, balcony appearances and invites to royal weddings, without the scrutiny that comes with being a frontline royal.

itswinetime · 18/12/2019 14:29

Zara is wearing this dress according to Twitter (the pattern looks right)

The Cambs christmas card is lovely. Happy kids, nice family group photo.

I know we've moved on but i just watched the Mary B. Lovely show and it was good and right that the emphasis was on the volunteers and service users. Great recipes and I thought DoC looked lovely in her dresses. That style is probably so comfy to wear when you're bending forward, crouching, sitting in low chairs and rising again. All with all eyes on you. Her nerves do show, but i find that endearing. She tries hard and says the right things and that's the main thing.

That shrug off though! It looked sheer instinct to me. She realised what she'd done and then tried to swing about a little tiny bit more to cover it up. They should have edited that out. Not to get too maudlin but i've had to act out a happy marriage in public. I kept it up convincingly for a number of years. So well in fact that everyone was shocked when i left. They all thought we were the perfect couple. So it can be done. That gut reaction shrug - i think i recognise it. Poor Kate. Hopefully i'm way off the mark anyway.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 18/12/2019 14:39

The Wessex’s arrived separately too. Maybe they are coming from different places, not too unusual surely.

7Worfs · 18/12/2019 14:40

I think a lot of people find PDA embarrassing (I certainly do), and that’s without the cameras and fame.

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/12/2019 14:41

I thought Kate's Christmas card dress looked quite Boden-y and so it is. Her love for midi dresses goes on!

OP posts:
Laiste · 18/12/2019 14:42

Hopefully it was just embarrassment. It's quite likely.
