I agree. I am really warming to her watching this - though my ardent republican DP is sniping from the sidelines!

Encyclo · 16/12/2019 20:51

Same. I think she's coming across really well, she really put Mary Berry at ease. All the little reassuring touches on Mary's shoulder and the constant use of her name.

SenecaFalls · 16/12/2019 20:52

The Duke of Gloucester is an architect. He planned a lifelong career as a working architect until his elder brother died and he was in line for the dukedom. I think he still does a lot of architecture related activities.

elfsocksandsnowboots · 16/12/2019 20:53

I'm watching too. I really disliked that dress in photos but I quite like it in motion. I wouldn't wear it myself but it suits her.

My DH is also sniping from the sidelines! "Why does such a stunning woman dress like she's one hundred years old? Bezza is better dressed than her!"

I love Mary Berry's navy jumper with the stars!

Encyclo · 16/12/2019 20:55

William on the other hand clearly came with a prepared script.

Encyclo · 16/12/2019 21:00

I retract that actually. He was absolutely wonderful with the people in the homeless charity.

RedBaublesGoldLights · 16/12/2019 21:01

I wasn't sure about William but I did like him making the joke about the blue hair. I get the sense that he really would like to be involved but it isn't his natural environment.

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/12/2019 21:04

I've only just got home so am watching it now.

Yes I knew about the Duke @SenecaFalls but I'm not sure what his children do.

This is fun! And happily not all about the royals, but centered well on the charities and food.

TokyoSushi · 16/12/2019 21:19

I'm on catch up so just watching now, it definitely confirms that Kate Cambridge really is my most favourite Royal, love her!

Encyclo · 16/12/2019 21:21

Wow. Make it a competition and William absolutely comes to life!

BlingLoving · 16/12/2019 21:22

Am just starting it now. Never mind anything else, I am trying the beetroot chocolate cake!!!

Encyclo · 16/12/2019 21:29

Well that was just lovely television

MotherofPearl · 16/12/2019 21:31

Brilliant bit of escapism; I really enjoyed it.

That red dress also looked far better in movement than in still photos.

DuchessofWoke · 16/12/2019 21:32

Christ though, how many different ways can they ask her why it’s good to play outside? 😂 She must want to scream “I’ve told you all this a hundred bloody times”.

Bless her, she’s just gorgeous.

Nice to hear her talking in a relaxed way, she’s seems very genuine. No artifice. I used to think she was a bit of a stuffed shirt but she’s really coming into her own.

frugalkitty · 16/12/2019 21:33

My boys have the football on so I'll be watching tomorrow.

SenecaFalls · 16/12/2019 21:34

I'm not sure what his children do

No idea about the daughters, but Lord Ulster was in the army for a while and now I think is involved in non-profit organizations. His wife is a physician, though, so that's certainly useful.

DuchessofWoke · 16/12/2019 21:35

I notice she’s pronouncing Charlotte the same way as the rest of us.

I’m sure in a clip a while ago she was saying Char-LOT.

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/12/2019 21:43

Whoever's doing their PR deserves an OBE at the least!

@QueenOfTheAndals totally agree. That was a total home run.

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/12/2019 21:54

Controversial opinion: I like Kate's red dress. It's festive!

Catrescue1971 · 16/12/2019 22:01

Oh how gorgeous and lovely. Dh thought so too but still thinks they should be abolished!

TokyoSushi · 16/12/2019 22:06

Well, that was just beautiful, loved it and them!

BlingLoving · 16/12/2019 22:11

I'm loving the easy chat. I mean, she's clearly thought ahead about the anecdotes but they are clearly genuine. I'm not finished yet but I think it's coming over brilliantly.
