I saw another thread that Borjois is going to be discontinued in the UK and googling shows that it's true Sad

www.google.com/amp/s/www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/beauty-hair/makeup/amp30056261/bourjois-discontinued-uk/

I love their 123 foundation and CC cream as well as their clubbing liquid eyeliner, can anyone recommend alternatives?

This one,no good if you have dark skin but great if you're pale, sort of self adjusts to your skin colour. Think there's a mauve ,green and yellow one now too but not tried them.

Delatron · 09/12/2019 22:17

Thanks so much! I am pale so sounds perfect. Will try it.

I don’t get on with any Maybelline make up! The mascara that everyone raves about is awful too.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 09/12/2019 23:14

Oh I love Maybelline collosal mascaraGrin

BusterGonad · 10/12/2019 00:40

Could you give more info on the Revlon eye primer please? I'm fed up of my concealers, I have extreamly dehydrated under eyes.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 10/12/2019 00:45

It's like the YSL touche eclat and has a brush and you twist up the product through the brush. It's light pink but adapts to your skin as long as you're pretty pale although saying that my sister uses it and she's medium skin toned. It just knocks all the darkness away from your eyes , it's fab AND you can reapply if you need it later on in the day and it doesn't disturb your make up. Good on eye lids too to cancel out redness on lids.

I'm feeling pressure now in case you don't like it Wink

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 10/12/2019 00:46

I paint it on then dab/pat it in using my ring finger.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 10/12/2019 00:51

I always buy from power sellers on eBay, only a fiver. I know lots of people don't like eBay but I've never had any issues with power sellers. All sealed and boxed etc.

Drabarni · 10/12/2019 01:00

They have some bits in pound shop I bought a blusher and green eye shadow pot.
Got a burgundy nail varnish for a wedding but wrong colour.
Maybe worth a try.

BusterGonad · 10/12/2019 04:14

Sorry my phone updated too late, thanks for the link.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 10/12/2019 12:20

My foundations turned up in the post today so I'm sorted for a bitSmile

Acunningruse · 10/12/2019 12:41

Groupon are selling off Bourjois products at the moment.

justilou1 · 10/12/2019 12:49

I loved them when they were made by Chanel. They kinda went to crap when they were sold to Coty, though. Their formulas changed almost overnight!

Deathraystare · 10/12/2019 16:05

That has made me very very cross! I am hoping it is fake news!

SwedishEdith · 10/12/2019 21:19

I love Bourjois and used to buy a lot of their stuff. But, a few years ago, their eyeshadow pots changed. The 'shadow' became much shallower. It was difficult to find one that hadn't either already shattered or did so by the time you got home. And the range of colours reduced a lot. Just shades of brown.

But their lipsticks are great. I go to France often enough that I'll just have to stock up.

Beketaten · 10/12/2019 22:54

Just got 3 eyeshadow, a blusher and an eyeliner half-price in Superdrug. Most stuff gone, including all but the darkest foundation shade.

Ponks · 10/12/2019 23:06

I got 2 of their eyeshadow palettes half price in Superdrug, I had used one to death and loved the colours so thought I'd better stock up while they are around. I will never need to buy another eyeshadow again (apart from maybe the same palette in different colourways if I go back again tomorrow...)

justilou1 · 11/12/2019 03:15

@Honeybee85 Yes, it’s true that L’Oreal is the parent company that owns Lancôme and also Maybelline. (The mascaras are virtually identical.) Often L’Oreal seems to have a higher-end range and a more drugstore range going at the same time. The difference in pigmentation is really obvious!!! The single eyeshadows with better pigments are amazing!!!

Honeybee85 · 11/12/2019 06:14

@justilou1

Which ones?
I am going to buy a lot of stuff next month back home and if you can tell me which ones they are, they go on my list 🥳

vaz119 · 11/12/2019 07:38

I loved the sun illusion primer so much that I stocked up cause it was a limited edition... Just about finished my last one 😢

justilou1 · 11/12/2019 07:51

I live in Australia, and things are branded differently here (different names, come here MONTHS later, etc....) but the ones I’m referring to look like this. They are sold as singles, mostly shimmers, but amazing pigments - love the bronzes/golds and the red one is GORGEOUS! Great applied with fingers or brushes. Quite keen on the emerald next.

Borjois being discontinued in the UK
BusterGonad · 11/12/2019 08:12

Oh Just they look amazing. The red brown one does look stunning! I'm really into the L'Oréal rouge signature liquid lipsticks at the moment, in fact I wore one the other evening and my husbands work colleague actually asked what I was wearing and proceeded to take a photo as she was that armoured (is that the right word/spelling 🤣) with it!

justilou1 · 11/12/2019 09:24

I am seriously doubting the need for high-end makeup these days, as you can get really good drugstore stuff and really bad high-end stuff. You just have to do your homework and try before you buy!

Honeybee85 · 11/12/2019 10:50

@justilou1

Thank you!
I think these just were launched in Europe too!
The emerald one indeed looks gorgeous (am a sucker for anything green coloured including eyeshadow). I don’t think they are sold yet in Asia so impatiently counting down the days until I can get my hands on these 🤩🤩🤩

Honeybee85 · 11/12/2019 10:52

@justilou1

That is so true!

Even drugstore concealer and foundation can be amazing quality. Really impressed by L’Oreal True Match foundation and Maybelline Age Rewind concealer.

justilou1 · 11/12/2019 11:24

The True Match has been around forever and has been virtually impossible to beat!!! I honestly think that they test the water with L’Oreal and refine it for Lancôme, dumb it down for Maybelline, etc. (Here in Aus they took True Match away for a while... BIG mistake!)
