I think we're on thread no 24 - appropriate for the upcoming advent fun!

Wondering if anyone could suggest a perfume for me. I received Aurelia night repair oil in my beauty calendar today and am obsessed with the scent of it. It has neroli, lavender, rose and mandarin. Any perfumes out there with similar notes? I think it is the rose and neroli that are the strongest scents.

Appreciate any help.

DS is a fan of Eau Sauvage...although he also loves the Atkinson's Pirate one! Plus he has been known to nick my 4160 Rhubarb and Citrus and Tauer Eau (plus my concealer, hairdryer, straighteners, hair wax, Elnett and favourite cashmere cardi!)

SOTD is a surreptitious squirt of Guerlain's fabulously odd Jicky whilst passing through a dept store. I rather enjoy the weirdo topnotes of this which have been variously described on fragrantica as urine, bad sex, halitosis and tonsil stones but I love love LOVE the drydown of lavender, vanilla and amber. Sublime. Just need to get my hands on some vintage stuff now...

SOTD is PP version of Santal 33 and i have to say i do not like it at all. it makes me feel nauseous, like rotting something, i dont know what, but i am repulsed by it. vegetable meaty weird smell, ugh. and boy does it stick.

Kalifornia I had the same reaction to that pp dupe too. It made me wretch and smelt of something rotten at first before developing into the smell of pickles. I’m not a fan of the original santal 33 either but it’s not as disgusting as the pp dupe

Hello blue. Not sure we crossed over before your hiatus - but your last year sounds remarkably like my 2017/18! Promotion, big job, another baby, no roof... It was exhausting!

SOTD shay & blue salt caramel. I always enjoy this so much. Mellow, sweet, warm, edible but never sickly or synthetic. I might not have identified the salt note without the giveaway in the name, but the fragrance obviously has something that gives it a little bit of edge. So good.

Barbed it sounds like youa re after that high end candle type smell. The ELizabeth arden oil has a beautiful smell that i havent been able to find in a perfume. MH Rose Silence is lovely not too in your face ROSE ROSE.

Judy I am teetering on the edge of just a bit tired and run down and need a week in bed!!! xx hang in there and order some immune defense stuff from amazon. Echinacea drops etc

Hello, I'm back again. DD has been ill with a fever for the fourth time and I'm getting very worried about her. She is finally on the mend from the last bout and I have paid to see a paediatrician privately as we seemed to be getting nowhere with blood tests via the GP. Her BMI has gone down from 55th centile to 30th centile in the last 6 months, but as she hasn't actually lost weight (she has shot up but hasn't put any weight on) nobody seems at all concerned. Fingers crossed that we find out what's going on soon.

SOTD is 4160 Drive Them Wild. It's weird because I don't think I 'do' sophisticated fragrances, but this one is definitely sophisticated. With a slightly naughty edge, though. I have also ordered some Captured By Candlelight as my 9ml was running out...

kali a week in bed is exactly what I would like! I bought allicin capsules which are supposed to be good for fighting infection, and am also using a spray thing up my nose.

That's a very photogenic cat you have there Judy. The trouble with this calendar is that you end up wanting to smell the things on everyone else's days too. I realise I don't know what amyris or lemon blossom smell like .

Today I wore Shay and Blue Framboise Noire- oud and red berries, for rhyme time at the library and hotel chocolat cafe afterwards (it’s the best place to feed and change a baby so has started to resemble a crèche. I’m not sure that’s the luxury vibe they’re aiming for!

As ever inspired by Maud, SotE is Jicky - I just get gone-off milk in the opening, but love the rest of it as I am a bit of a lavender fiend. (Worth keeping an eye out for Ma Liberte is you're trawling eBay for vintage Jicky, Maud).

Correction: have just reread my earlier post and would like to make clear that I fancy sniffing Amyris Femme rather than Judy's cat.
