It's cold outside so the lovely friendly perfumistas are by the fireplace, sniffing our scarves and dreaming of the desert

SOTD was Miss Dior, but had a shower after work and now in Diptyque Eau Duelle with my pjs.

MotherOfDragonite · 05/02/2020 08:50

SOTD was Diptyque 34 yesterday. Today it will be Fluffy Lemon Top.

It's still very cold and feels like winter. I went on a school trip yesterday and feel half dead! How do teachers do it all the time?!

teta · 05/02/2020 10:08

It's a beautiful sunny day today. The birds are singing and i have snowdrops and primroses. But best of all the days are getting longer and there's more daylight.
Hence I'm in California Reverie by Van Cleef & Arpels - orange blossom and Jasmine. This is the only perfume I've ever used up in under 4 months. Partially because it's not very strong and needs at least 4 sprays and top ups . It smells so natural though and is never too much for any situation.

KaliforniaDreamz · 05/02/2020 12:58

Teta that sounds lovely.

Mother i am always shattered after helping on a school trip

hats off a million times over to teachers.

Judy i have never sniffed Miss Dior, where have i been?

FloraMacDonald · 05/02/2020 20:25

I'm losing my perfume mojo again. Might try lucky dip in the samples box tomorrow!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 05/02/2020 22:47

kali it was my first proper perfume as a teenager! Quite hard to find amongst the pink Miss Diors, but worth seeking out.

teta our snowdrops are out too. Love them.

SOTD NRFH. I haven’t worn this in ages.

MelanieFrontage · 05/02/2020 22:58

I’ve just found Elizabeth Arden White Tea and I love it.

FloraMacDonald · 06/02/2020 07:28

SOTD is Scherzo, which was a lucky lucky dip!

Vebrithien · 06/02/2020 08:33

Morning,
Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I need some help tracking down an alternative to a discontinued perfume.
My mum loved Byzantine by Rochas (in the yellow bottle, not the blue one), and she's got a tiny drop left from years ago.
All I can find is second hand bottles, that are old. I was wondering if anyone knows of something that smells similar?

Also, any recommendations for an apple blossom scent (not apple-y, but the flowers) I'm looking for something spring like.
Thank you!

Bluesheep8 · 06/02/2020 09:13

SOTD Chique mixed with white musk - surprisingly nice. Question - any opinions on Avon soft musk delice? I'm intrigued by the description....

PearsMorgan · 06/02/2020 10:14

@verbrithien Floral St Neon Rose is very apple blossomy.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/02/2020 10:24

SOTD MMM Jazz Club. Very frosty here this morning, so needed something a bit cosy.

teta · 06/02/2020 10:46

Rosee De nuit is Sotd . I wanted to continue the Sandalwood theme after using Sandalwood soap from Tk Maxx. Not a good start to today on the school as I met an arrogant range rover driver today who made me reverse as he didn't want his car to go in the mud. Gave him the finger when he said ' there, that wasn't so bad then '.Ds2 was tutting disapprovingly in the car next to me otherwise I would have got out and thumped this guy.........

KaliforniaDreamz · 06/02/2020 17:05

ISN'T THAT WAS RANGE ROVERS ARE FOR????? grrrrrrrr

yoikes · 06/02/2020 20:23

Sotd 4160 temptation

teta · 06/02/2020 21:04

Yes, I'm sure you're right @KaliforniaDreamz.
Little ' big men ' .
@Yoikes I hope you've had a good day?

MrsMoggs · 06/02/2020 22:38

Evening All - hope everyone is doing OK? Delighted to be online and in a warm house following 10 days of various sorts of disruption.

Apologies to those who I owe things to - will get to a Post Office tomorrow.

My clear out continues. The following will be heading to eBay shortly, unless any Perfumistas would be interested in buying (please PM me)?

Shay & Blue English Cherry Blossom (10ml)
4160Tuesdays Meet me on the Corner (30mls)
4160Tuesdays Drive Them Wild (9mls)

KaliforniaDreamz · 07/02/2020 11:29

hmmm

yoikes · 07/02/2020 11:55

mrsm thanks for the message. Tried to pm you but its not working my end 🙄

Sotd 4160 temptation. Lovely gentle musk. I like this a lot.

teta just plodding along atm. Proceedure next weds on my eye to try and get more info. It's very annoying to not be able to read properly :(

Hope everyone is ok...it's soooo cold here today ❄❄❄❄

Lotsofpots · 07/02/2020 16:03

Cold but sunny here. Kids are ill again. I'm knackered after a massive week at work.
SOTD sexiest scent.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 07/02/2020 21:02

SOTD Au Coeur de Desert. Hope everyone has a nice weekend - a rubbish week here so I am v v pleased to have a couple of days off!

Bluesheep8 · 08/02/2020 07:54

I asked about Avon soft musk delice upthread but it arrived yesterday so I can answer my own question now. Headache inducing candy floss mixed with birthday cake icing would be my description. It's awful imo, back it goes! Confused

Bluesheep8 · 08/02/2020 07:55

SOTD will be Rive Gauche

FloraMacDonald · 08/02/2020 09:34

SOTD vetiver Insolent - again! But I have a plan to lucky dip my way through my samples box until I've tried all of them. My tastes keep changing. I'm considering starting a spreadsheet of notes. I do love a spreadsheet!

MotherOfDragonite · 08/02/2020 09:37

SOTD will be Fluffy Lemon Top :-)

I feel I'm in a bit of a perfume rut (Fluffy Lemon Top / Diptyque 34 -- and before that, Ffern Winter 20 or Monyette Paris) but quite happy with it. Busy with the kids and work, and still just trying to get on top of life.

Happy weekend, perfumistas!
