Love this size. I think she'll sell a lot of them.

I love the 15 ml bottle too. I got some captured by candlelight.

I'm going to stop buying 4160 samples. They're all starting to smell the same to me. I got Dark Heart of Old Havana & Eau My Soul. I thought DHOH would be more tobacco, less sweet. EMS just smells like a sweetshop to me, like all the other 4160 samples in my drawer. I think I get carried away by the imaginative names. They all seem to dry down to lemon sherbet.

Kali I'm also loving Tea Tonque at the moment. I'm not getting bubblegum though! Are you using the oil? Or EDP/EDT? Mine is oil and whenever I wear it I keep sniffing myself!

Flora it's eau de parfum spray. I am wearing it again today and i am trying to work out what it is - i think it is a synthetic rubber type smell i am getting. pleasant tho.

The JJB is very intersting as I'd say that at least 4 of them really don't have the typical 4160 DNA...(I know what you mean though)
Day 2 - subterranea - was very challenging and I would not have guessed it was a 4160 scent.
There is one that I think should be a room spray (too much for a scent imo)
And a heavy floral which is divine but I don't do florals.

SOTD was Irreverent, but I did try some of the first joy box scent today -- Temptation. It's a gentle, slightly aquatic musk. Not for me (although maybe I ought to try again in warmer weather?) but very nice. It screams sleek blonde in pastel cashmere at me.

I guess maybe this was in contrast with the gothy, sexed up high church of Irreverent... :-D

stinky I also received my 15ml otcs today too. I think it has a bit more coffee in it than the sample I have, but it's all the better for it.

Meanwhile SOTD was 4160 Who Knew. It's been a 4160 kinda day.

I sold my Cinema a few years ago, Calm - what was I thinking? Couldn't get on with Beaver, and was worried about the potential for sniggering.

All the 15ml chat has had me reaching for Meet me on the Corner. Have been rather distracted by family events and then returning to work, so haven't paid this proper attention yet, but I like it.

It feels like it takes a bit of figuring out and I need to wear it for longer and pay proper attention. So far I think I get a surprising berry and daisy-like accord in the opening which vanishes almost instantly in favour of a warm powdery and deeply satisfying citrus (it doesn't smell medicated at all but for some strange reason it does make me think about tyrozets and cuticura foot powder, perhaps because these are some of my smells of the 1970s ). In the background there is a masculine-leaning whiff of barber shops (unless that's the Bowling Green I'm wearing on my other wrist ). I'll keep sniffing...

I'm having a Laboratory Perfumes week. I got the sample set with a Perfume Society Discovery Box and I'm really enjoying them. Gorse yesterday, samphire today. Not a great name, it makes me think of rotting seaweed and dead fish! It starts with a sharp citrus, then gets a bit lavender & herby.

SOTD was Drive Them Wild. It's one I feel I will come back to a lot.

I haven't been brave enough to try Subterranea yet; maybe at the weekend (doesn't seem like a work scent...). Clouds is very beautiful and exactly what it says on the tin, I can smell every note including the hay... but thankfully I haven't fallen head over heels for it and can save myself some money.

Whoa there stinky, I don't get ANY civet in BCRD! On me it is purely a sugarbomb in a bonfire. I disliked it at first but I like it now. Especially the drydown, which is deluxe (maybe more so for feeling like I have survived a smoky inferno in the initial hour...)

I'm sure you're right, stinky -- I just can't smell it. Maybe I'm anosmic to it (I've always secretly wanted to have an excuse to use the word anosmic...)

SOTD is Ffern Winter 20, which has been comforting and lovely to sniff as I worked.

Finally tried some samples I was sent of Xerjoff XJ Oud. Omg, pungent. Oud Luban was tarry and butch. Black Sukar was non-descript and somehow soapy (was it the freesia or the peony that made me feel like this?). All in all, a disappointment. Might have smelled better on a man.

Hi all I usually lurk but ill(ish) in bed. Bored of everything. Was looking forward to the Ffern winter one but it smelled like cleaning products on me. My go-tos are Tea Tonique, White Queen and vetivery things, but I’m after something more woody/smoky. Recommendations?

To the pp that mentioned gorse- does it really smell like gorse?
