In January Joy Box news, I have just put a little tiny spray of Subterranea on one inner elbow. I've been putting it off because I thought it might be so "too much" but I'm afraid I am beginning to think I might actually really like it! (Possibly has a bit of the urban Freeway vibe? But very different.)

Caldey Island Gorse is good (smells ever do slightly urinous but in a thorough forgiveable way ).

Hi Pears - you've got me thinking about woody/smoky. Just to add to Eddie's excellent list:

Encens Flamboyant (Annick Goutal) is a very unusual dry smoky pine with a distant whiff of incense (not frankincense).

Yatagan is another great pine with a hint of wood fire - but this is like breathing great lungfuls of chilly early morning forest air.

Timbuktu - rich hot and cold wood with
campfire smoke.

Serge Luten's Feminine du Bois - smoky plummy wood.

Vintage Cabochard - vampy ashes.

Pharrel William's Girl, woody violet with wet concrete.

Lush's All Good Things - bonfire of Ex's left behind belongings that resolves into candy floss.

Yes, don't know what to make of the laboratory perfumes and their names. Was expecting naturalism.

Is there more to come with the JJB or did they contain 10 perfumes? (Sorry, should've been paying better attention).

Am spending my money on comfy shoes this month in an effort to walk to work more often. (But I really want a bottle of Si Le Parfum as my various samples are coming to an end and I miss it. Please shout if you spot any on sale - has to be the parfum; don't like the EDP so much).

SotE is Greedy Essence which is growing on me and is quite subtle.
