It's cold outside so the lovely friendly perfumistas are by the fireplace, sniffing our scarves and dreaming of the desert

teta · 18/12/2019 22:32

I'm very tempted by the Histories set but must sit on my hands. Too many perfumes already. How come I've never heard of Scent City before? Changed to Pure Distance White as I've been feeling freezing and ill all day and it's warming.

KaliforniaDreamz · 18/12/2019 23:16

I gave my PP By the fireside away and now regret as was in infancy of scent discovery... boo hoo...

MissBattleaxe · 19/12/2019 09:45

Hello everyone! Hope you don't mind me dropping in. Yesterday I received Darkest Bloom from 4160 Tuesdays as part of the Patreon thing. It's a fiver a month and you get sent travel sizes of the scents Sarah's working on.

Darkest Bloom is the most blackcurrant-y scent I have ever tried and I am hooked. It smells like gummi bears but then gets terribly sophisticated and musky. I may well be a blackcurrant convert after this.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 19/12/2019 09:57

SOTD is Tauer Sotto La Luna Tuberose. I love (genuinely) how AT manages to turn tuberose into something dry and dusty Grin

Last day at work today before Christmas. I feel as if I am wading through treacle. I need to sleep for a week.

MissBattleaxe · 19/12/2019 13:35

Maud, I tried that last year in Les Senteurs and it lasted THREE WEEKS on a blotter. Astonishing, Also gorgeous.

KaliforniaDreamz · 19/12/2019 13:43

Hello MissBattleaxe nice to hear from you. what do you think of our calendar ?

I have really enjoyed all the reviews and when things slow down in January i will go back and read them all again and savour them.

I want to do this with all the perfumista threads but i am not sure i have that kind of time...

SOTD Shalimar (PP)

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 19/12/2019 14:20

SOTD L'Air De Rien.

I ordered a bottle of Diptque Eau Duelle with my John Lewis voucher in the end. It should be in for me to collect on my way home from work.

Tomorrow's my last day, and I also feel like I could sleep for a week. We're going to the cinema to see It's a Wonderful Life on Saturday - we do this most years - and then hopefully I will feel really properly festive.

Stinkyeddie · 19/12/2019 14:27

Going to see star wars later!!! So excited!
Still feeling a bit rough though.
Sotd pp by the fireplace.

KaliforniaDreamz · 19/12/2019 14:44

Cant wait to see Star Wars Eddie

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 19/12/2019 15:10

Fab choice, judy, I love Eau Duelle.

I skived off early and am home now, for two weeks. I'm going to sleep, eat, drink, wear delicious, cosy, comforting scents and not think about work at all.

Stinkyeddie · 19/12/2019 15:11

Not finished til 12 tomorrow....

MotherOfDragonite · 19/12/2019 18:07

Great choice, Judy -- Eau Duelle is so nice. And versatile!

Sotd was Irreverent again... :-D

MotherOfDragonite · 20/12/2019 10:09

Maud, how did I miss your lovely post with HdP recommendations?! Thank you! I think I want to check all of them out now... might ask for a sample set for my birthday Wink

MissBattleaxe · 20/12/2019 12:05

Kalifornia Dreamz, i am going to go back and read it all. The only reason I don't come on here more often is because it's as addictive as Pringles or heroin and I will totally lose hours. I've had to be very strict with myself since I started working from home. It's so tempting. It calls my name! Keep going perfumistas!

teta · 20/12/2019 16:57

@MaudBaileysGreenTurban I enjoyed your perfume review yesterday. I have a bottle of Undergrowth and wear it when I feel a bit jaded, like an anti-perfume. It's very vetiver heavy though and reminds me a bit of my little bottle of vintage Alliage.
Wearing Ffern Winter 2020. Has yours arrived @MotherOfDragonite?
What do you think of it?

Stinkyeddie · 20/12/2019 17:09

Lovely review maud

Stinkyeddie · 20/12/2019 19:56

Sote 4160 extra sexiest scent on the planet ever imho

Lotsofpots · 20/12/2019 20:13

Oh god it's been a rough week. And it's just been topped off with waking up with a cold. Luckily I wore my advent scent yesterday when I could smell for my review today - review now up. Sorry it was so late.

One more day of work on Monday. One more day...

teta · 20/12/2019 20:33

Well done @Lotsofpots.
Lust and baby oil sounds an irresistible combination 😄

Stinkyeddie · 20/12/2019 20:52

Ooo er

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 21/12/2019 00:11

SOTD Diptyque Eau Duelle. I probably should have got the EDT.

Finished work, so just waiting on the cold hitting me. Sympathy lots. I have been staving it off with a nasal spray, vitamins, and sheer willpower.

Bluesheep8 · 21/12/2019 07:59

SOTD yesterday was SJP Lovely. Very calming for my last frantic day at work.

Stinkyeddie · 21/12/2019 08:04

I'm having a massage at 10 them meeting up with family at 11 so no sotd for me til later.

Hoping to go to the carols by candlelight later this evening so perhaps pp by the fireplace would be appropriate? Or AT incense extreme? Or Avon Timeless?

Hmmmmm.....

TheCanterburyWhales · 21/12/2019 08:07

Popping in to say hello and wish you all a scented and lovely Christmas.
(PIAM calling in from Italy)
On MN ever more infrequently but that does mean I've sorted my perfumes into Winter and Summer boxes (though still have mahoosive box of untried samples)
Sotd will undoubtedly be Shalimar. (whenever I put it on I remember the perfumista who said "just putting it on makes me feel warmer" so true!)
