How often do you wash your hair?

As above really! Just curious - I have fine hair and always washed it daily. Trying to increase the length of time between washes to extend the lifetime of my colour. Thanks

Every single day . My hair type is curly and I get very hot in my sleep. I also have oily skin
So if I don’t wash it every morning I look like Medusa and feel itchy and like a dirty smelly greasy blob .
I’ve always been envious of people who don’t have to wash their hair everyday .

redchocolatebutton · 16/11/2019 17:30

about twice a week with shampoo and conditioner.

however I rinse it every day in the shower, dunno if that counts as washing...

Notacluetwittwoo · 16/11/2019 17:30

Every day. As Fidgety31 said if I don’t then it itches, gets really really greasy and generally makes me feel and look like crap!! I wish I could get away with washing it less!!

ELM8 · 16/11/2019 17:33

Every second or third day.. if it stretches to third day I generally have to wake it up with some dry shampoo!

MartyrGuacamole · 16/11/2019 17:34

Every other day. I started by using dry shampoo but now it seems to have got used to it and every other day works well! Just had to persevere. Maybe start now as at least it's hat/hood weather? :)

Baboutheocelot · 16/11/2019 17:34

Twice a week

Caramelll · 16/11/2019 17:35

Twice a week for me. My hair takes a good few days to get greasy. It’s only on the 4th day I wake up and know I need to wash it. It looks totally the same on day 1, 2 and 3.

PurpleDaisies · 16/11/2019 17:35

Every other, although if I’m exercising a lot it can be more.

goose1964 · 16/11/2019 17:36

Once or twice a week. I have relatively dry hair and if I wash it more often I look like Worzel Gummidge

HeavyMetalHoneyMonster · 16/11/2019 17:40

About once a week due to being very slow and having very little energy.

It starts to get greasy and smelly after a couple of days.

Bokky · 16/11/2019 17:41

I used to be every day but, like you, wanted to make my colour last longer. Currently every 2 days but it has to be up in a ponytail on day 2! Trying to train it to go longer but even dry shampoo can't help me with that at the minute!

HazySunsets · 16/11/2019 17:55

Once or twice a week. It’s bleached so I can’t wash it too often and the rigmarole of having to blow dry/ straighten it means only washing it once or twice a week is just less hassle all round.

Therarestone · 16/11/2019 17:56

Every other day

justbeingelle · 16/11/2019 17:56

Every day or every second day. On the second day it can sometimes look ok with dry shampoo.

Cerealkillers · 16/11/2019 17:57

Every other day or it’s a greasy mess.

ItchySeveredFoot · 16/11/2019 17:58

Twice a week. I have very thick hair though so it takes ages to look greasy.

MissCherryCakeyBun · 16/11/2019 17:59

Roughly every 5/6 days I've got thick hair and lots of it and as it's been lightened for many years so it's fairly dry

applepineapple · 16/11/2019 17:59

Twice a week. Once if I can get away with it Grin

adayatthebeach · 16/11/2019 18:00

Every other day. I can’t stand any feeling of oil in my hair.

aceyace · 16/11/2019 18:01

Every day, have fine hair and it looks lank and feels greasy and itchy otherwise

Hayls17 · 16/11/2019 18:01

When it’s short every day otherwise it’s a mess. Currently growing it and can fit in a small ponytail. Plan to only wash every 2 days and tie hair up on 2nd day when it’s long enough.

helpfulperson · 16/11/2019 18:12

Once a week but my hairstyle changes over that week. Day one and sometimes two, down. Then in a pony tail for a couple of days moving to a plait then properly up for the last day or two.

PickAChew · 16/11/2019 18:14

Every other day. Ends up greasy, smelly and frizzy if I try to go longer.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 16/11/2019 18:17

Mid length, every other day currently. When it was short it was every day. When it was very long I could do it once or twice a week & it didn’t look greasy (because it was put in a bun first thing in the morning & only taken out before bed, for which it was plaited, each night)

CointreauVersial · 16/11/2019 18:17

Every three days. Need dry shampoo on the 3rd day, though.
