Loving M&S this season
The cashmere is in gorgeous colours and washing well.
The heatgen tights are warm and cosy, stay up and area great price.
These suede boots are looking fab with dresses and skirts

Anyone else loving Marks?

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/10/2019 19:33

I bought cashmere in the January sales and wasn't at all impressed by it. Sizing was all over the place, and then it shrank and bobbled really quickly.

I like those first boots - very 1980s!

Imonlymoominafterall · 30/10/2019 19:39

I'm not. Horrible designs and patterns, poorly made.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/10/2019 19:40

Must admit I rarely look in there now. The fabrics are bloody awful, so even if something looks nice in a pic or from a distance, it's horrible when you touch it.

TheFaerieQueene · 30/10/2019 19:41

Sorry but I really don’t like either of those boots.

Trewser · 30/10/2019 19:41

Those boots are horrible.

HappyHarlot · 30/10/2019 19:43

I love some of their current designs, but the material is cheap and nasty when you get up close. The prices do not reflect the quality (Next are the same).

commanderdalgliesh · 30/10/2019 19:48

I saw a nice pair of boots but agree about the fabric bring poor quality and overpriced. Bargains on eBay though, got a midi dress for a fiver and it looks lovely on.

LilyPinkNoah · 30/10/2019 19:51

Soz those boots are horrible!

PastTheGin · 30/10/2019 19:58

The first pair of boots look really cheap and nasty!
Against my better judgement I bought a pair of jeans in M&S recently and they are horrible, keep getting bigger and bigger whereas the plain T-shirts I bought in the summer keep getting shorter and shorter. Really not loving M&S at all...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/10/2019 19:59

The t-shirts are terrible. They always go saggy on the neckline really quickly and get shorter and wider.

BarbourellaTheCoatzilla · 30/10/2019 20:22

This reads like a really poor PR text to try and boost sales. Akin to Del Boy sending Rodney to be a customer at the market.

EdWinchester · 30/10/2019 20:29

Both of those boots are godawful. They always get things a bit wrong - especially footwear.

I really don't rate their cashmere either. Much.much better to be had elsewhere.

WellErrr · 30/10/2019 20:32

I would have totally bought the first boots in 2006.

SpiderCharlotte · 30/10/2019 20:36

I'm not keen on either of those boots, sorry OP. They do some nice plain long sleeved t shirts in M & S though.

Musicforsnorks · 30/10/2019 20:42

Well we don’t all have to like the same thing but heck I bet she feels like shit for posting now Sad

SuckingDieselFella · 30/10/2019 20:48

I bought two of the Holly Willoughby linen shirts and they lasted about two washes (hand washes, may I add). M&S have got quite a lot of things so wrong.

Lucked · 30/10/2019 20:50

I have always bought lots from M&S and quality has definitely improved in some areas. there is more cotton and better fabrics if you look.

I bought a few things with 20% off recently and kept them all.

pink merino jumper
these checked trousers
sparkle blazer

I also bought a nice pleated skirt but you can buy them everywhere.

I wear quite preppy look and shop in banana republic, j crew and some gap and I do feel M&S are doing some similar styles this year.

littlepooch · 30/10/2019 20:51

I've not been keen. I went in there the other day but couldn't find anything I liked at all really other than the cashmere but wasnt sure how good it is.

I had a poor experience with 2 jumpers I bought last year, one of them shrunk and the other just hasn't kept its shape.

I've seen some nice bits for my youngest DC though. And eyeing up some hair stuff so I can get the advent calendar.

Chickenlitter · 30/10/2019 21:16

The first boots are nice, and I have to say their heat gen tops arer3ally good - get me through the winter. Not so keen on the polyester though.

shivermetimbers77 · 30/10/2019 21:20

I agree with you OP! I really like M&S.. i think people will miss it when its gone.

thefattestchip · 30/10/2019 21:21

Uniqlo are better quality and value than M&S.

ChickenyChick · 30/10/2019 21:24

Nah

nitgel · 30/10/2019 21:24

The heatgen tops are great.they have a long line one that has a scoop neck its really useful

redexpat · 30/10/2019 21:27

I spent quite a lot kn there this weekend and thought that they must have been reading mn as there were basic styles in a vsriety of colours. Agree that the sizing is bonkers - xs cashmere jumper, knickers 10, jeans 12 and jeggings 14. I really hope the jeans in particular last.

youllhavehadyourtea · 30/10/2019 21:28

I love Marks and have bought loads there recently. So much, that they sent me bonus 20% off this week added directly to my Sparks card (so no vouchers, sorry peeps, otherwise I'd share)

I also signed up to their Tuesday stylist service.

It's not really ticking all my style boxes ( I said no heels, they keep suggesting heels) but it's nice to see the outfits and it does feel special to get an email with outfits 'picked' for me.
