Charles and Camilla are going somewhere in November. I think it’s NZ and the Pacific islands

itswinetime · 31/10/2019 12:01

There's also the royal variety in November which Harry and Meghan went to last year it's not tiara worthy but it's normally an evening wear occasion....they haven't announced who is attending this year though yet

BeaBravo · 31/10/2019 12:06

Am not commenting on personal attacks but agree with FATE. It's not nice, nor necessary

Hear, hear!

Carolyn Besettte & JFK Jnr were a gorgeous, glamorous couple. Can still remember the shock and horror of their plane going down.

BertrandRussell · 31/10/2019 12:15

I’m not a Michael Mackintyre fan- but he was very funny teasing W&K at the Royal Variety show a few years ago.

BigGreenOlives · 31/10/2019 12:56

This website shows future engagements. It looks as if the next evening event is the Princess Royal on 6/11/19.

IfWishesWereFishes · 31/10/2019 13:03

Yes to less personal comments. It doesn't reflect well on those doing the commenting. And it's boring!

itswinetime · 31/10/2019 13:03

That website is good for most royals but for some reason the Cambridge's and the sussexs don't seem to announce things as early as the others 🤷🏻‍♀️

Agree Michael mcintyre was quite funny, Jack Whitehall less so was it last year? and this year it's rob becket I think so probably best to just look at the dresses Wink

BertrandRussell · 31/10/2019 13:14

I thought Jack Whitehall was interesting- he obviously felt comfortable being much nearer the knuckle with Harry. I suspect it’s a class thing- they could well have gone to school together. Incidentally, anyone who thinks Harry looks miserable in public now, you should have a look at him arriving at the 2105 Royal Variety performance!

itswinetime · 31/10/2019 13:30

Was jack Whitehall really 2015 Shock he is definitely in with that crowd I think he was at Eugenie's wedding? His just isn't a type of humour I like all that ohh aren't I naughty and risqué not for me...although it I remember rightly Harry took it all quite well.

It certainly seems to bring out the fun side of the royals as seen in this video of Prince William galloping no idea of the context but...

The RVP is such a cringe fest.

paradyning · 31/10/2019 14:11

Thank god for the frocks.

BertrandRussell · 31/10/2019 14:17

I still think Michael Mackintyre was funny.....

frugalkitty · 31/10/2019 14:24

I agree that the young Caroline of Monaco was truly gorgeous.

QueenOfTheAndals · 31/10/2019 14:28

Indeed @frugalkitty, and her daughter is the spitting image of her.

I agree that Caroline of Monaco just oozed glamour and sophistication to the plain, dumpy teenage me.

Gosh, I'd forgotten how glamorous Caroline was in the 1980s.

Here we have Rania - I always think she looks great in traditional dress, as she does here. Much nicer than some of those rather stilted matchy-matchy outfits she sometimes goes in for.

A look back at some of Kate's past remembrance-related clothes.

Black velvet coat - Catherine Walker (my favourite look)
Navy quilt-like design coat - Temperley
Black coat with square-ish buttons - Diane Von Furstenberg
Black dress with asymmetric neckline - Roland Mouret
Collarless black coat with gold buttons - Dolce & Gabbana
Black military coat with white collar - Alexander McQueen
Two tone black fabric coat - Alexander McQueen
Green coat - Catherine Walker

Interesting how her facial expressions have evolved over the years. Loving the Sophie side eye from an earlier one.

latedecember1963 · 31/10/2019 18:00

The coat in the 1st set at the bottom with the "Poldark" style hat is my favourite out of that selection.

thisenglishlife · 31/10/2019 18:05

This one @latedecember1963 ?
It's by Diane Von Furstenberg. It seems to be a favourite of Kate's too!

queenofarles · 31/10/2019 18:08

Not a fan of any of them, though I remember liking last year’s McQueen , but not so much now.

Gosh Kate with Sophie, that reminded me, the uproar it caused , the daily mail made such a big fuss about grinning Kate. The comments section were vile.

latedecember1963 · 31/10/2019 18:17

Yes, that's the one, thisenglishlife. The jaunty hat really compliments the coat, while not detracting from the occasion.
Perhaps if Kate reads this thread we may see it again this year! We need a secret signal she can send us, like the "man in the hat" tipping his hat to the Strictly Come Dancing thread on Saturday nights. 😁

DevonUkelele · 31/10/2019 18:24

Oh the Roland Mouret... I just ❤️ his stuff. Perfect!

StCharlotte · 31/10/2019 19:14

Was she pregnant in this one? It looks like her pregnant face - she always looked different and extra pretty when she was pregnant (I refuse to entertain the possibikity of a fourth. Ever.).
