Love the leggings on you @OublietteBravo. Either today or tomorrow we are visiting the DC’s godfather so I might wear mine. After wearing clothes to suck me in last night I’m looking forward to being comfy today.

I don’t think the jumper bulks you out at all @KiteflyingKat. I love your outfit

Sooverthemill · 14/12/2019 12:22

@kite it doesn't make you look bulky at all. I think it's hard when looking down on your own body! Enjoy the party
@OublietteBravo looks good. I quite like the jumper

I have had two things delivered from whistles sale today: Velcro trainers which I think I like but unsure how comfy they will be. Velcro fab for not having to bend down much and they look rather swish I think
The other thing is a shirt dress which smells of perfume ( but so did a jumper I got previously from brand alley so maybe they store stuff which lavender bags?) and I've only had a minute to try it on over jeans. Not all all sure. It may simply be too shapeless and has a strain he built in tie belt which means I could substitute an ordinary belt. Hmm only keeping stuff I love! I do like the fabric so I will try in again, I only have one winter dress which is for funerals (!) and a sort of cross season one, but I find dresses in the winter indoors tricky.

happytobemrsg · 14/12/2019 12:52

I’ve only recently started wearing dresses @Sooverthemill but I do rate the New Look midi ones. I wore them in the summer & still wear them now with cropped jumpers on top. I got some lovely compliments on my dress/jumper combo yesterday

PinkDaydreams · 14/12/2019 13:13

I saw some lovely pinafore dresses in new look the other day which I thought would look nice with long sleeve top underneath, tights and chunky boots. I haven’t got the confidence to wear a dress though!

happytobemrsg · 14/12/2019 17:39

Doesn’t look like my Zara delivery will be here today 😡

Sooverthemill · 14/12/2019 17:45

@happy I wear dresses all every day in the summer but I can't work out how to wear them inside without boots in the winter as I am basically always at home except for medical appointments. My legs would be cold without covering but I have 3 cats and 2 dogs and tights are absolutely not practical. Maybe leggings and trainers but I'm not sure. I have probably 12 summer dresses which I wear and I love wearing them ( when I worked I wore them a lot) but inside The house always? I'm not sure. Eldest DD who visits us sometimes wears the shortest dresses I could imagine with nude tights and camp, aims bitterly about the cats ruining her tights. Wear jeans I helpfully say....

RiskIt4Biscuit · 14/12/2019 19:22

Today, I’m in:
Spanx blue jean-ish leggings (they feel and look like quite thick denim, but very stretchy and comfy)
Mustard coloured lumberjack shirt, Primark
Grey ankle boots, Dune

Just been at home with baby and husband, all 3 of us have terrible colds and then a quick trip out to do a bit of shopping.

Sooverthemill · 15/12/2019 09:28

Excuse dreadful photo! T shirt : Fwp by by Rae ( it says 'knackered')
Jeans: brand new first time of wearing Baukjen relaxed ( may nee to roll a bit more)
Trainers: dune old

I wanted to wear with my brand new trainers but I didn't want to give DH a heart attack so will drip those in gradually with a 'no, they're not new' comment over xmas

Love your new trainers @Sooverthemill!

OublietteBravo · 15/12/2019 12:02

I’m experimenting with mom jeans as a winter look (I wore them turned up in the summer). I’m not sure it quite works. But I don’t know what I need to change to make it work. Especially as I don’t possess any ankle boots.

Jumper: Next
Jeans: Boden
Trainers: Clarks

OublietteBravo · 15/12/2019 12:04

I love your old trainers too @Sooverthemill - I’d quite like a leopard print pair. But they are not on my no spend permitted item list and I definitely don’t actually need any more trainers.

Sooverthemill · 15/12/2019 12:48

@oubliette Apparently Sainsbury's Have a good pair which are air and grace dupes for about £35. I'm now officially on the bench. I am going to crack if a jumper I love is in toast sale and maybe a hush sale too but my plan is no spend until my birthday in April. I have enough clothes!

Sooverthemill · 15/12/2019 12:49

@OublietteBravo I like the jeans on you. Maybe roll a little? Tuck in your jumper? They look good like that though.

happytobemrsg · 15/12/2019 13:42

Did you see the brilliant article Soover (I think??) linked to on here @OublietteBravo? It’s brilliant. What I noticed was that in virtually all looks, the top was tucked in. I think it’s easier to tuck in lighter materials so I’m planning on tucking in t-shirts with chunky boyfriend cardigans. In the spring I’m thinking shirts maybe? Of course all of this is just theory since I don’t have any mom jeans yet 😂😂

Here’s the article: www.whowhatwear.co.uk/how-to-wear-mom-jeans

@Ellapaella I’ve ordered the Oliver Bonas cardigan in black. I love my orange one so much & I think I’ll get a lot of use out of the black one

OublietteBravo · 15/12/2019 13:57

Ah. Perhaps that’s the solution. Here is the same look with the jumper tucked in (belt is new - from Mint Velvet, this is OK as it was on my permitted item list and I absolutely love it).

That looks loads better @OublietteBravo! You look great. My mom jeans just arrived & I’m actually in love!! I’m totally enjoying the Monica from Friends 90’s look. They look good dresses up too where have they been all my life

Bought this lovely midi dress from Zara too. Only £20 which is pretty good for Zara

Lovely dress happy. Re Mom jeans -I am still on the fence personally with mine. I love the looser casual style and wore a lot with sandals and flipflops in the summer with a thin cami top tucked in (see pics). They really need the top to be tucked in due to the high waist. I have worn in winter with a jumper (see below) and trainers, but can't find another way of styling them in colder weather, high waists are allegedly meant to suit me as an hourglass but the denim on these ones is quite thick and heavy so I'm undecided.
I think both @happytobemrsg and @OublietteBravo look lovely in your Mom jeans, can I ask where you got them from?

@Ellapaella - mine are these ones (I bought them in 8L)

OublietteBravo · 15/12/2019 17:11

(I’m a size 8-10).

happytobemrsg · 15/12/2019 17:15

Would you be warm enough wearing them with a T-shirt & chunky cardigan (eg your OB one)? I’m not sure I have a fine-enough knit to wear with them since tucking in is crucial IMO. So I’ll have to stick to T-shirts & cardigans or a blazer (surprisingly I love that look).

My black Chelsea boots look fine with them & that’s how the model is wearing them too. White trainers would obviously look good too.

I don’t find the denim too stiff. I’m so pleased with these. Even DH likes them & he prefers me in more form-fitting clothes.

happytobemrsg · 15/12/2019 17:16

Oh I’m a size 12!

Ellapaella · 15/12/2019 17:28

Thanks both - how is Zara sizing on jeans?

@Sooverthemill - my DH is like that too. Which is crazy because I’m spending my money (and I earn more than he does).

happytobemrsg · 15/12/2019 18:09

@Ellapaella I’m a size 10 top & 12 bottoms - I ordered the jeans in a 12 & they fit perfectly
