Horrible day today, my annual Hodgkin Lymphoma check. I'm 6 years clear and each year am filled with terror it could be back. Really daft but I always feel sick and stressed and just so out of kilter until I know I'm clear. So, dressed for freezing cold hospital clinic. Hoping we will have time to pop into the hospital M&S food hall to pick up some treats. DS is sitting for us so we shouldn't be stressed about getting back for the sitter to go on to next person(you ever know how long hospital apts take). It's an hour each way anyway.

Jumper: Hobbs ( 2005?) easy to roll up for blood test!
Jeans: old j crew
Boots: Jones bookmakers probably 2013 I reckon. Flat and easy to get off for height and weight!

Wish me luck!
Btw Baukjen sale is officially on but not much in it really

Good luck @Sooverthemill - I hope everything goes smoothly and doesn’t take too long.

I’m back in the office today. But I’m not going to get much done as I have a meeting from 09:30 to 16:00 (it’s the annual review of the R&D programme for the category I support, so I need to be there).

Jumper: Boden
Skirt: Baukjen
Boots: Bertie

Good luck @Sooverthemill. X

Some lovely outfits. I bought a similar cardigan from jack wills but still got an itch for the OB one.

Happy - I think I have the floral new look midi/maxi. Love it 😍

happytobemrsg · 09/12/2019 10:53

Oh good @Softpebbles! I’m especially excited about the green one. I love those dresses from New Look - inexpensive, feel lovely on & can easily be worn all year round with a few tweaks

Sooverthemill · 09/12/2019 12:47

I'm back and given the all, clear. And now I can be signed off which is soooo good. Just annual blood tests by GP. Phew. Thanks everyone, it's so worrying always.

mastertomsmum · 09/12/2019 12:49

Black jumper and emerald green pashmina, not quite at Christmas style yet

happytobemrsg · 09/12/2019 13:03

Brilliant news @Sooverthemill!

Switched my khaki jumper for the identical black one. Not sure why 😂

New Look dresses have arrived because I finally caved & bought the Delivery Pass. Will try them on when I get home

Sooverthemill · 09/12/2019 20:03

@happytobemrsg I changed too! Into a bright yellow cardigan on top of a navy t shirt. More cheerful

KiteflyingKat · 09/12/2019 20:15

Great news @soover

  • top Ralph Lauren via TK Maxx
  • Pleated skirt - Reiss via charity
  • Boots - M&S

Definitely a day for cheery colours @Sooverthemill!

Looking back on all my outfits the past 6 weeks (Stylebook app), they all look a bit dreary. Lovely clothes but mostly greys & black. I need to make more of an effort with colour.

Sooverthemill · 09/12/2019 20:47

@happy I tend to wear darker colours too in the winter but have a few brighter things. I will try harder too!

Sooverthemill · 10/12/2019 09:24

Not the slightest bit more colourful but was in a mad rush

Breton : ancient Boden
Jeans: old Frame
Cardigan: this season Hush and it's actually navy and black fleck
Trainers: old dune and one of the few pairs I can get in without undoing laces so good for dodgy back!

I love these boots but can’t justify spending £55 on myself. They’re so soft inside, unfortunately suede upper so they aren’t going to be very rain proof! That’s what I’ll keep doing, focus on the negative to stop myself spending!

Sooverthemill · 10/12/2019 11:06

@Pink you can buy a waterproofing spray for suede. Ive used it many times

OublietteBravo · 10/12/2019 11:10

No meetings today, so no need for especially smart office wear.

Shirt: Boden
Trousers: Boden
Shoes: Jigsaw

(Mint Velvet have up to 40% off footwear - for anyone who isn’t into zero spending at the moment)

Been reading through this thread and getting so inspired to wear better outfits.

I work from home a lot so often end up in leggings and roll-necks.

Have downloaded style book and will start being more mindful of the clothes I wear. I like the idea of planning what I'm going to wear in advance.

I'm 6 foot so finding clothes that fit really well is challenging. Things seem to be either too expensive (Long Tall Sally) or way too trendy/not comfortable.

If I buy from a non-tall range, invariably the arms, legs or body will be too short.

Any other tall ladies here?

Sooverthemill · 10/12/2019 12:51

Does anybody know what mint velvet trainers are like for comfort? My back is still very painful and I think I need more supportive trainers.

PalacePaper · 10/12/2019 16:40

So pleased you've had good news @Sooverthemill.

I have some mint velvet trainers and find them very comfy, I'm really pleased with them.

@timswifey I'm no help with tall clothes I'm afraid - I'm 5'2" so have the opposite problem Grin

Christmas lunch at work today so I wore my Christmas jumper - although DD said this morning that it's nowhere near Christmassy enough to count!
