Ooh tempted by that jumper @Talison!

Today I'm tucking a jumper ( as advised by people). I'm not sure. However it's all a work in progress. I've now tucked it more neatly than the photo shows
Jumper: baukjen this season
Jeans: old j crew
Shoes: as ever kurt Geiger

Going out for dinner tonight ( fingers crossed) as it's DSs birthday. Meeting his new GF for the first time! Will be in velvet jeans and a sparkly top I think

@JaceLancs can’t wait until I can clothes share with DD. Motivation to keep exercising Wink

@soover I find the jumper tuck tricky - I either tuck completely or not at all. I can do the half tuck with shirts. Enjoy your dinner, hope the GF is nice. And don’t forget to show us your outfit.

Today-

Top Jigsaw
Jeans Topshop “Mom”
High Tops Diesel from TK Maxx
Jacket Religion
Scarf H&M

I went off wearing striped tops as felt like they were total middle class mum uniform. I was at a cafe a few years ago and four women came in all wearing striped Breton tops, jeans and loafers. It really put me off Grin

@KiteflyingKat - I know what you mean about the ‘uniform’ - I can’t remember the last time I saw my sister wearing anything other than jeans, striped Breton top (Boden - of course) and converse.

Sooverthemill · 07/12/2019 09:55

Totally agree! I have a neighbour who is about the same age as me who wears Breton top, jeans and converse every single day. She adds striped socks in the winter and maybe a cropped cardigan. I'm longing to get my hands on her wardrobe ( and that's rich coming from me really). We invited her for birthday drinks this year ( my husbands 60th) and she wore the same thing! I'm just surprised that she didn't want the opportunity to wear a nice dress or at least a pretty top. I suppose people get into a rut and when you have little ones it's very easy to pull on a 'uniform'.

KiteflyingKat · 07/12/2019 10:09

I’m not criticising anyone else if they are happy wearing the striped top outfit, good for them. I think seeing everyone wearing it just made me realise I needed to move on Grin

Sooverthemill · 07/12/2019 10:10

I have several and I've just decided to wear them outside the usual jeans and Breton box.

happytobemrsg · 07/12/2019 10:32

I think your tuck looks great @Sooverthemill. Love your jeans too.

JaceLancs · 07/12/2019 10:38

No pic of cape sorry but it reminds me of a shorter version of the Scottish widows advert version

KiteflyingKat · 07/12/2019 14:03

Know this sounds silly and is a total first world problem, but I’m actually feeling a bit sad I have no excuse to get dressed up this Christmas. I thought we were going to go to a party but DH has now said he doesn’t want to, so looks like I won’t get to wear a sparkly dress after all. (The party is via DH’s hobby club so it would be odd for me to go without him before anyone suggests that. I haven’t been invited to anything else).

My work Christmas do is just a casual lunch, and is just a jeans & Christmas jumper affair, not dressy.

Oh well Xmas Sad

Does anyone else have any glamorous parties? Would love to see your outfits if you do Xmas Grin

Ellapaella · 07/12/2019 14:18

@KiteflyingKat my work are really boring g and don't do a Christmas party. I do usually go with DH on his work do as I used to work at the same hospital in the same department so I know a lot of his colleagues really well. We haven't decided whether we are definitely going yet - it clashes with something we have on during the day and might not be able to get a baby sitter for both.
We are going to see The Smyths on the 19th, not going to get dressed up for that though. Next weekend I'm going out with a group of friends who are Mum's of my DC, we'll put our frocks on and make a bit of an effort.
That's a shame you're not getting a Christmas do - were you looking forward to it?

KiteflyingKat · 07/12/2019 15:04

@Ellapaella I suppose I was looking forward to actually going out - I’ve literally been out in the evening socially about 3 times in the past year. I don’t know anyone where we live and have struggled to make friends, so I only have one friend here. I have other friends where I grew up but only see them a couple of times a year.

So yeah I guess I was looking forward to doing something social, getting dressed up and having a silly dance to christmas songs

happytobemrsg · 07/12/2019 18:07

I’m going to a work Christmas party (lots of very glam, much younger girls) so I’ll be getting dressed up for that (the bodysuit/leather trousers combo). Other than that, I’ll be doing a tour of my family over Christmas eating their food Grin on Christmas Day it’s just at my parents to but I feel like wearing sequins! So wearing this sequin mini dress from H&M.

@KiteflyingKat my friends don’t do anything over Christmas & anyway they love too far. We’ve drifted apart from a group we used to hang out with. So we just see family really. It’s been so good getting back to work & seeing adults again. My team is going out for dinner & ice skating next week.

Today was my nieces 9th birthday party so I wore an @Ellapaella inspired outfit

Sooverthemill · 08/12/2019 07:51

@happytobemrsg that combo looks really good!

Went out last night for dinner to celebrate DSs birthday and meet his new GF. As usual I only knew for sure about 5 minutes before that I could go so pulled on this
Top : Boden last year
Trousers: jigsaw velvet Richmond
Boots: Boden last year I think
Wore my new plum colour coat and a lovely deep purple and lilac scarf from becksondergard which sounds odd but is lovely. I doubt we will go out evening again for a while as DD isn't stable and it's very stressful worrying about her but as it's the only time I leave the house except for medical appointments I'm a bit sad

Sooverthemill · 08/12/2019 07:55

@KiteflyingKat I absolutely understand. We moved her 3 years ago for better medical care for DD and I don't know anyone. DH has to commute 3-4 hours each way so stays in hotels in the week. I see the woman who walks the dogs when he's away. I go out an average of one time a month which is often the evening for dinner and I stay out a max of 2 hours as that's how long I can leave DD with a sitter. I haven't been able to work for over 7 years now and I really miss doing stuff like drinks with work, Christmas dinner ( that's how DH and I got together at a works Xmas do) and just generally chill with my NCT mates. It was always a hassle /nightmare with 3 kids and we have never ever been out without having to pay a sitter! You and I should have a virtual Christmas drinks party! I will bring the G& Ts

Sooverthemill · 08/12/2019 08:51

Today's outfit
Jumper: all saints
Trousers Boden corduroy ( old)
Shoes: kurt Geiger

Other photo is the scarf I wore out last night. It's becksondergard zebra pattern. Years and years old but love it
