WFH today. Been for a run this morning, showered and put in some cashmere lounge wear. I’m lovely and comfortable.

innuendobingo · 26/11/2019 21:11

Picture hastily taken in the lift at 7am this morning but Phase Eight jumpsuit and silver mint velvet trainers with my new north face coat.

Been meaning to ask how you all wash your Hush pleather leggings?!

Feeling inspired by kiteflyingkat to start investigating charity shops more. Are there any particular ones that tend towards nicer things?! Or is it more based on area? I am midlands so not quite as chic as the London ones I assume!

Talisin · 27/11/2019 08:42

So busy I forgot to post yesterday so here’s yesterday’s and today’s sartorial efforts:

Khaki sparkle jumper (Next)
Tulle maxi skirt (Roman Originals)
Belt (H&M)
Boots (New Look)

and today:

Ursula dress (Hush)
Velvet jacket (Amazon)
Boots (Deichman)

Another yoga with Adriene fan here. Really looking forward to her new year program.

I think I have that jumpsuit @innuendobingo. I’d not even considered wearing it in winter.

I have a conference (with work colleagues) in Iceland next week. I’m finding the ability to flick through photos of my outfits quite helpful in terms of planning what to pack, the dress code is mostly “business casual” or “smart casual” - presumably someone thinks these are different things Confused.

Today’s outfit:
Shirt: Boden
Jeans: Gap
Trainers: Jigsaw

Today's outfit:

Shoes- Converse
Skirt- Reiss
Jumper- H&M
Necklace- Primark

The skirt is being repurposed as a daily wear item as was from a wedding. I think can get away with it?

I find the photos very helpful. I flicked though my photos this morning as I'm going to a neighbours for coffee (DH is working from home so will look after DD) and I wanted inspiration!
@OublietteBravo Iceland will be cold! Lots of layers. Also, have you watched 'trapped ' series 1. Its on amazon but possibly also IPlayer. It may make you rethink your visit ( hint, don't go anywhere with a serial killer)

Today's outfit is
Jumper: warehouse new
Trousers: baukjen new cargo ( outlet)
Trainers: dune last year
I'm not sure about the trainers this year. Last tear I wore them lots. This year I'm not sure.

@bettybea definitely! Love how you've styled it.

Everyone looks great, Tailsin that skirt is beautiful.

I've ordered three things over the last couple of days and waiting for them to arrive.
A grey roll neck from Newl Look to wear with coated jeans, this Oliver Bonas cardigan (25% off today) and the leopard print version of the green palm print Lottie dress that I already have (the one with the controversial asymmetrical hemline). It was a bargain at £12 and I love the style of that dress so looking forward to that arriving.

@bettybea I am near London.

I live close to a couple of towns that each have 5 or 6 charity shops. Some I never go in as I’ve never had any luck and some I can’t cope with the layout / too many clothes crammed into racks etc so that narrows it down. There’s 4 I visit regularly I’d say.

The one I have got the most good stuff from is Cancer Research. They seem to have the least tat. But they do seem to recognise the good brands and price quite high (sometimes too high, IMO).

However I’ve got good stuff from all the shops I go in regularly. It really is just luck.

Someone once told me charity shops near car parking get more donations so likely to have better stock. Not sure if that’s true?!

I appreciate I’m quite lucky. The town where my mum lives has one charity shop and it’s not great at all.

KiteflyingKat · 27/11/2019 14:12

@bettybea yes I think you can get away with the skirt as daily wear

KiteflyingKat · 27/11/2019 14:15

@Sooverthemill I like the jumper, looks snug

I also love the photos. Different people wear and style stuff so differently, so a jumper and jeans will look completely different on different people. It also helps me to look at my own photos - sometimes it makes me realise something looks better or worse than I thought!

KiteflyingKat · 27/11/2019 14:17

Today:

  • shirt Cloth & Stone, via TK Maxx
  • jeans - New Look
  • Dirty old high tops - Diesel via TK Maxx
KiteflyingKat · 27/11/2019 14:18

Oops- and the photo!

KiteflyingKat · 27/11/2019 14:19

I’m not doing very well today!! Jeans are Topshop “Mom” jeans, not New Look

Veronicat · 27/11/2019 18:02

@bettybea I really like that skirt.

bettybea · 27/11/2019 18:36

Ah thanks, it is a beauty so felt it shouldn't stay at the back of my wardrobe waiting to be worn more formally.

I love the colour of that cardigan Ella, looks nice and short too- I really don't suit mid length cardigans so I either like them short and boxy or long and witchy!

KiteflyingKat · 27/11/2019 19:03

Just wear it @bettybea ! I’ve stopped saving stuff for “best” as I don’t really have such thing as best now my life revolves around the park with a night out once every 6 months Wink Obviously Some stuff can’t be dressed down, but actually lots of stuff can

OublietteBravo · 28/11/2019 08:02

There is currently 20% off at Mint Velvet (code: BLACK20). I’ve ordered the velvet leggings.

bettybea · 28/11/2019 08:24

If anyone spots an offer anywhere on the shite Fr Martens Jadon boots please post a link! I love them. But can't quite justify the price for a pair of white platform boots!!

bettybea · 28/11/2019 08:24

White. Not shite. I do not want shite docs.

Ellapaella · 28/11/2019 08:34

Skirt: Next

Not sure I like the skirt all that much. Perverse it’s time to declutter it from my wardrobe.

OublietteBravo · 28/11/2019 10:44

Aargh. Perhaps not perverse. DYAC Grin

Sooverthemill · 28/11/2019 11:45

@OublietteBravo I read that as perchance
