Its the trainers socks @soups. You would be best with Knee high tights in black.

You dont need to wear boots. I think its cause they are quite lightweight and the brogues are a bit 'heavy' but you could try the tights under it. If you havent got knee highs try just tights in black.

Hi @wellwhatalovelyday. Its hard to tell without a photo but i would. I suppose it depends on the length. If its at the knee, then yeh it would look fine. If its quite long it would also look fine but if it falls at the calf or round about that length, they may shorten your leg and it could make them look a bit stumpy. Its hard without a picture.

Hi well welcome to the thread, trainers and dresses are def A-ok . .. keep posting, this is a lovely friendly group.
Soover I am having difficulty with wide crops and footwear also, Which is one reason why I sent back the Hush wide crop cords .. I have seen model photo s with socks an brogues, but can't make it work for me.. I think knee boots would work though. ...the new ones with a block heel that Hush have this A/W are uncannily similar to ones I still have in my wardrobe from the 1980s ! 😊

I wore socks with my wide leg crops [ the moritz] yesterday. They looked ok. No-one laughed. I think with the cords i will get some knee high black socks and pop them on with my brogues without any gap in winter. I am not a crop and boot person tbh.

I really wish that I had been able to grab the Toast sale ones in my size.. but thinking that next month I may bite the bullet and get these ones

Yeh, they are nice. I didnt keep the green toast ones either. I bought the black hush ones and like them better. The length is better tbh.

Oh no...not argyle socks. Just a plain pair of black ones. Or just my freebee bamboo stripe ones. Thats what i had on yesterday but they were inoffensive.

The black ones I tried were v stuff and had an odd chemical smell... Yours ok then ? Maybe I wa unlucky

No chemical smell and pretty soft. I was surprised. Also surprised they werent needlecord. They were a bigger cord which i prefer.

I had both the 12's and the 10's but the 12's seemed very flappy. So i kept the 10's. They are quite neat on me atm round the waist but after a few weeks hopefully they may loosen although i haven't been great diet wise!

I lovedthe Toast ones, but just too big sadly and they cancelled the order for the smaller..

Are argyle socks the bay city rollers style?

The toast ones were beautiful in the green but they were too big on me at the hips and too tight on me at the waist. They also felt 'big' which i hate.

Well not too tight on the waist but neat so i dont think i could have got away with sizing down.
