.. a Poetry catalogue just popped in the post box.. , flicking through quickly , it looks very dangerous!!

Sooverthemill · 02/10/2019 13:25

Ooh those are good choices @Ellapaella. You made me laugh . We Have a white stuff, a fat face and a Seasalt and a ridiculously expensive exclusive boutique ( so they sell penelope chilvers and essential Antwerp for example). Seaside towns! Every single thing I buy online. But the fish and chips are good...

Sooverthemill · 02/10/2019 13:26

@Laska2Meryls don't look!

Sooverthemill · 02/10/2019 13:28

This morning I went through jeans again and am thinking about whether to cull any. I do have a lot . But I feel that jeans shapes are about to change so I don't think I want to lose any that might come back in again! Currently wearing a 7 year old pair of M&S boyfriend jeans which I tried on having not worn for about £ years and I really love them! I'm not very good at this

Sooverthemill · 02/10/2019 13:28

@Laska2Meryls what jacket are you taking?

Laska2Meryls · 02/10/2019 13:31

..I probably wont need the Wren.. but oh heck, ... decisions!.. I have to have one jacket though .. oh sod it!!, its coming anyway Grin

Laska2Meryls · 02/10/2019 13:33

SoOver jacket is the problem , I am dithering as you see, Green Wren? Blue Wren? Navy northface down-type jacket.?. . .. its a nightmare to decide!!.
atm (taxi here soon!) its green Wren (and delightful purple packamac in case JIC) !

Sooverthemill · 02/10/2019 13:38

@Laska2meryls I thunk that's the right choice. Always have a packamac

riperhubarb · 02/10/2019 13:56

Hi hush ladies can someone tell me what hush friends is please?

ilovecherries · 02/10/2019 14:26

It’s something where they give you free next day delivery, rhubarb. No. One really knows why or how they allocate it, apparently it’s some ‘algorithm’. You don’t apply for it, one day it’s just appears, as far as anyone can tell.

It is quiet here. I’m in a post holiday slump. DD’s car can written off at MOT yesterday, which wasn’t expected. Apparently the chassis was about to fall off with corrosion. Only done 55k. Anyway, she needs a car for work so I had to go and retrieve mine from home and bring it back for her. Then she went down with a vomiting bug, so I’m still with her.

Ella like the new outfit, very versatile as well.
Laska hoped you solved the jacket dilemma & have a great time & safe journey.
cherries crikey that’s shocking with dd’s car, hope she feels much better soon.
I’m just back from Brighton, weather was surprisingly good considering how awful it was in London yesterday, nice here now though sun is shining & quite warm, forgotten what nice shops they have in Brighton halo still intact I resisted 😇

twosoups1972 · 02/10/2019 15:11

@Ellapaella lovely trousers, would be interested to see what socks you’ll wear with the brogues...?

@Laska2Meryls I always pack too much! I end up not wearing half of it but I can’t predict what I’ll feel like wearing when I get there!

Just trying to sort out our Christmas holiday...

Sooverthemill · 02/10/2019 16:10

@riperhubarb it does feel very exciting when the friends postage option pops up! But then you realise it's because you've bought your weight in Hush clothes in the last year...
So I'm trying not to buy but have put 4 things I would like in my basket 'for later' and hoping that when the sale comes they will still b available in my size. I've sorted out my wardrobe hugely and am trying to actually wear what I have and if I don't wear things ( autumn/winter stuff) I am going to sell/ charity donate.

NotAnActualSheep · 02/10/2019 17:19

Hello- jumping back onto the thread while its moving a bit slower Grin .

ella - lovely outfit - like the top too. And yes, as soups says, would like to know how you handle the sock/brogue thing with cropped trousers. I need socks at this time of year...

soover -well done on the wardrobe sorting. That sounds like a good technique. Though I always worry that if i throw something away it'll come back "in" next year, or I will magically lose weight, and then I'll regret it. I still grieve over a lovely navy velvet jacket that I binned in a "thin" period (and it was a 16, but an old 16, so a 12, basically) that was so nice and I really wish I had it again Sad .

laska - hope you have a fantastic holiday! I feel for you with the packing. I always panic pack things "just in case" to DH's disgust, and then feel I have to wear them to justify the luggage space...

Right - off to pilates. I'm wearing old hush leopard leggings with my new "lady hale" t-shirt with a sparkly silver spider on the shoulder. Grin Hope there aren't any arachnophobes or brexiteers in the class.

Ellapaella · 02/10/2019 17:31

I'll just be wearing non visible trainer socks with bare leg showing. Not brave enough to do snazzy socks to a work conference!

Ellapaella · 02/10/2019 17:33

Like so...

The Hushistas dream of silk, velvet and cashmere (and Meryls)
Sooverthemill · 02/10/2019 18:55

@Ellapaella aren't you NHS? I always found NHS women either wearing scary corporate suits or very jazzy trendy things at conferences!

Ellapaella · 02/10/2019 19:40

I am NHS - this is a clinical staff conference, I go most years. I'm not the jazzy type really and can't really say I've ever notice any particularly exciting outfits. There are some corporate dressers there but they tend to be from industry - the reps and what not. Lots just go in civvies but I prefer to at least look I wouldn't look out of place in the office 😂

Sooverthemill · 02/10/2019 21:31

Well @Ellapaella I still reckon snazzy socks would be good!

Talisin · 03/10/2019 08:53

My velvet bias cut skirt is going to arrive tomorrow (when I’m out, natch) and it’s already oos and back to pre-order on size 6 & 10 I see. Glitter hoodie and trousers for mum arriving sometime this morning. I also got this cord dress from New Look because the colour is just gorgeous but it needs ironing before I decide whether I’m keeping it or not.

SoyYo · 03/10/2019 09:14

Great outfit from H&M Ella!

Talisin love the NL cord dress and excited to read that the velvet skirt is arriving soon (I also ordered Wink)

len Brighton is so tempting! You have an iron will.

laska you’ll be in your plane now and wishing you a wonderful time! I think the green wren was the right choice

cherries poor DD and Hope she’s better today

soover not I’m starting to crack on with wardrobe clearing too...it’s a mammoth task though as I always find excuses to keep things...Hmm

SoyYo · 03/10/2019 09:16

soups did I miss something? How was your Toast haul?

Sooverthemill · 03/10/2019 09:21

@NotAnActualSheep I totally get that. I have on today a pair of boyfriend jeans ( again) that are technically a size bigger than I need but I kept in case and am really liking again today. I have a beautiful expensive denim like but actually linen top that I bought about 20 years ago and which is now 2 sizes too big (was breastfeeding why oh why did I spend £80 on a breastfeeding top?) but which every spring I put in the throw away pile and each year I bring back and thank that somehow it will magically fit me again. And I regret some stuff I got rid of ( like Russell and Bromley brogues which have come back in). The advice I read suggests that even if you love it and that Navy velvet jacket has come back in style, it won't be quite right eg lapels wrong, too nipped in at the waist etc.

I'm also hideously ancient now and no way am I revisiting the 70s trend which I tried to recreate on a student budget at the time

Eesha · 03/10/2019 11:28

Hello all, I thought this might be right place to look? Does everything in Hush go on sale or should I nab the shirt I want when I can?
