I'm surprising myself but I don't mind that look. Maybe it's a duskier pink than the photo shows. It also seems to have softened her a bit.

Thatsnotmyflamingo · 07/09/2019 09:20

Hope it's ok to join. I like the overall effect of CPV's look but I think it might have worked better with a shorter jacket? I'm slightly biased though, as I love that shade personally, it would make me look as though I've had tens hours sleep when I've only had five.

latedecember1963 · 07/09/2019 09:21

A Deputy Head teacher I worked with many years ago solved the cake stall angst by buying packs of ready made buns. She would take off the wrappers, "distress" them a bit, put them on a plate, cover them in cling film and pass them off as home made. 😁

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 07/09/2019 09:25

Oh, but imagine the disappointment of biting into a "homemade" bun expecting buttery wonderfulness and getting a taste of Tesco basic! Grin

queenofarles · 07/09/2019 09:27

CPV is probably one of the worst dressed royals.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 07/09/2019 09:27

@Thatsnotmyflamingo
I think you're right about the jacket. I hope the top has short sleeves, I can imagine without the jacket it looks very chic and flattering on her.

megletthesecond · 07/09/2019 09:29

I love that dusky pink suit.

BigGreenOlives · 07/09/2019 09:31

I think I fulfilled the diary/book week costume/cake maker roll in our household. We stayed in a house with a butler once and it was wonderful, she made me coffee as I got up and generally made a big fuss of me. It made me realise how pleasant it is not to have to do everything.

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/09/2019 09:38

Welcome @Thatsnotmyflamingo!

I'm not a fan of CPV's trouser suits and her floral dresses can be a bit hit and miss. But she does well at crown and gown events - she and her sister can carry off some amazing tiaras and jewels!

Wow. Too pink.

A different colour shirt would have made it easier to look at!

paradyning · 07/09/2019 09:43

Very very pink.

queenofarles · 07/09/2019 10:02

Wonder if Kate bakes for George’s School? Or is it the nanny or housekeeper? Or maybe it’s Auntie Pippa ,seeing how she is the one with culinary skills in the family .

I’m very fortunate to have help at home, it does make life easier for sure. I still though “cheat” and get cakes for bake sales from primerose bakery,Blush I’m good at baking , but I find baking big batches very stressful.

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/09/2019 10:04

I think Kate has mentioned baking brownies with George at some point?

Please don’t tell me you donate 3 quid cupcakes to a bake sale- what do they sell them for?

AppleKatie · 07/09/2019 10:19

Probably 50p London madness

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/09/2019 10:41

I’ve just booked some tickets to visit the State Rooms and the gardens at BP. Am really excited!

Stravapalava · 07/09/2019 11:08

I heard Kate is a good baker. I bet she bakes cupcakes for the school fair.

I must be in the minority that I generally like CPV's outfits, apart from the 70s style trouser suits. I loved her floral dresses over the summer.

queenofarles · 07/09/2019 11:28

Bertrand oh , I don’t bring in Cupcakes, mostly loaves or biscuits.
There is a limit to how many cupcakes parents can bring in which is a good rule, as Most children hardly finish them, they end up in the bin half eaten, too sugary.

Apple cupcakes are usually £1 for decorated ones.

Bet Magen will bake her Famous Gluten free banana bread for Archie's school bake ,.I think it will be a big hit.

BertrandRussell · 07/09/2019 11:33

Even with loaves and biscuits, just donate the money. They will make absolutely no profit selling on Primrose Bakery stuff and giving the money direct is better for the environment.

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/09/2019 11:36

That's not quite how school fairs work though!

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 07/09/2019 11:49

Well, if someone’s donating slices of cake that cost 2 quid and biscuits that cost 1.50......
Can you tell I bake for what I laughingly call my living?

queenofarles · 07/09/2019 11:49

But they are a big hit on bake sales, Wink
Besides don’t feel comfortable in giving money.

I think CPV dresses too severely, it almost looks like she has no interest in clothes, and just wears them as part of her job,

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/09/2019 12:04

I think it's the pulled back hair that gives CPV a severe look. But she's a bit different to the other royal women as she'll actually be monarch rather than just consort, so clothes probably come second to the job!

OP posts:
UrsulaPandress · 07/09/2019 13:08

I like the pink outfit.

queenofarles · 07/09/2019 13:08

The Queen Wore very trendy clothes , leopard coats, go-go boots. She really got into the 60s trends. Was she almost 40 at that time?
