Link please bertrand

BertrandRussell · 14/09/2019 11:22

No, i’m nor going to link- it was one individual and not fair to single her out. And it would be too depressing if others agree with her. But I promise it’s true.

GoFiguire · 14/09/2019 11:30

She sounds like Boris Grin “I promise it’s teue@ Grin😁😁😁😂😂😂

BertrandRussell · 14/09/2019 11:35

Why would I make something up when you could easily find it if you could be arsed?

BertrandRussell · 14/09/2019 11:47

Actually, it was in this thread, so happy to quote
“Slightly bothered by the problem she was fixing which is that the garments being donated weren't sufficiently smart or on trend. If I had donated a lilac blazer I would be a bit offended”

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/09/2019 12:20

Sussex Royal Instagram from Smartworks capsule launch

PinkLacy · 14/09/2019 13:45

The Smart Works dress looks like it's a couple of inches too short to be professional, it looks like an oversized shirt from the back, and you can see from the photo above that it doesn't hide sweat stains (presumably because it's not lined? Or because of the fabric). I certainly wouldn't want to attend an interview in it.

I almost like the tote, but - and it's a big but - there's no button/zip/closure on it. I hate having totes with contents on display for all to steal!

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 14/09/2019 13:50

I agree the dress might have been a bit longer, but I can't see any sweat stains? Frankly, lined dresses are rare, especially in this price range.

PinkLacy · 14/09/2019 13:56

Look at the blue dress photo - you can see the sweat marks from where the lady must have been sitting down

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 14/09/2019 14:03

I think the lilac blazer poster was making a slightly different point to be fair to her. There seemed to be an element of an "in joke" about the lilac blazer when M referenced it. I think the point was if it was a private donor rather than an end of sale jobbie the donor might be offended to have their donation sniggered at publicly. That was my interpretation anyway.

I also agree with MM that a rackful of lilac blazers might prove challenging to accessorise, and if anything screamed "SmartWorks uniform" it would be large numbers of women turning up for interview
wearing one.

Rhubarbisevil · 14/09/2019 14:35

I can’t see any sweat stains.

SenecaFalls · 14/09/2019 14:48

Where did all those lilac blazers come from? I doubt it was individual private donors unless there was a spate of lilac blazer wearing in the UK that quickly died out.

And certainly a lilac blazer would not be a good choice for a job interview. That would not be good even where I live in the southern US where you do see quite a few pastel jackets and blazers from time to time.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 14/09/2019 14:58

Perhaps Angela Merkel could make use of them? She loves a blazer 😂

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/09/2019 14:59

Please can we draw a line under lilac blazers?

Here is Sarah on aTrading Floorfor her Street Child Charity

She really looks like Eugenie in the first photo.
I like her in the emerald green; classic redhead colour. But the cut of the jacket is a bit odd; like a too small waiter’s Jacket.

I searched Instagram for a better view of Queen Mathilde’s dress, it’s even worse in full view Shock checks and stripes , very bright too! I think it’s a style that only works on runway or on people working in fashion , who would know how style it! Very tricky dress.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/09/2019 17:05

Thé Sussexes are off to Africa in just over a week.
I’ve dug out some photos of her last trip to Rwanda; preHarry.

I’m assuming Meghan will stick to her usual palette of neutrals, lots of linen.
I’d love to see her in some local designers and wearing colourful African prints. I’m hoping she’s going to lay off the Givenchy when visiting Africa.

paradyning · 14/09/2019 17:09

I like her sandals there

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/09/2019 17:09

I imagine she'll bring out a bit of designer for evening events but will keep it low key during the day.

Mathilde's outfit, my eyes!!!Confused

It’s still cold in Cape Town, I’m assuming that’s where she and Archie will be all the time?
Linen and sandals are probably not a good choice

The BBC weather forecast has Cape Town at a predicted 18 - 25 degrees over the next 14 days.

So warm to us Brits & Northern Europeans but probably freezing for everyone else Smile

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/09/2019 17:38

Plus Meghan lived in Toronto for years!

OP posts:
queenofarles · 14/09/2019 17:52

That’s pretty mild.

CT is so unpredictable ,and depending on where you are staying, it gets pretty cold in evenings. Another thing it gets so Windy!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 14/09/2019 17:55

Doh! Forgot how far south RSA is.
Perhaps we’ll see a bit more variety of fashion, if it’s cooler.

Harry: desert boots; khakhi trousers, linen / cotton shirts with sleeves rolled back. (Half zip fleece for colder mornings / evenings). He’ll just pack a rucksack, 4 suitcases for Meghan, 17 trunks full of baby equipment.
