So Camilla is wearing some tartan? Why does anyone imagine it is due to what is termed on Mumsnet as “literal dressing”?
For one thing not everyone in Scotland wears tartan!

Actually, it is possibly a tartan that was created for her: the Duchess of Rothesay tartan.

They are a kind of hybrid calf length

I think that must be a fashion thing. Both my nieces have been wearing «hybrid socks» in their back to school photos

That maroon hat is dreadful!! As are the blonde streaks in her hair.

I liked Kate's dress. She looks so much more confident now on engagements than she used to.

That article is a delicious read, though it does veer into sycophancy from time to time. Colman is such a woman's woman, and the clothes look amazing.

I say it because every time one of them crosses the bloody border, they seem to think they've got to drape themselves in tartan to blend in with the locals. I hate it. It would be like going to Wales dressed as a bloody leek or a daffodil.
