They are calf length and imo look good with wide leg stuff

Ellapaella · 05/09/2019 17:24

@Laska2Meryls the loafers and heeled boots both look great as do your lace up boots - definitely a good look. KEEP!😁

Ellapaella · 05/09/2019 17:26

So the boots in the second picture (think they look like they have heels) 👌 with lovely chunky knit jumper on top - this will look fab!

twosoups1972 · 05/09/2019 17:41

@ilovecherries thank you for the info on international citizens scheme, it looks really interesting. What country did your dd go to? My dd is worried about going too far from home, she wants to stay in Europe ideally.

But....today she's having second thoughts. She thinks it might be late to apply for programmes, it will all be a rush, she might not be able to fill a whole year etc. She's thinking of maybe starting the college after all, starting the A Levels and see how it goes. She's going to apply to do Camp America next summer in any case. When I pointed out to her that A Levels are stressful, she said it would be much less stress this year because a) she already has her university place, and b) she'll only be studying two subjects. She also wants to be at home as she was planning on taking some dance classes at dd3's dance school and they do a big show in February.

I can see both sides, gap year v A Levels, finding it hard to advise her.

twosoups1972 · 05/09/2019 17:44

I love those brogues @neveradullmoment99, are you buying them?

I don't want to think about Autumn clothes yet!

SoyYo · 05/09/2019 18:31

Just marking space to catch up with the thread which already has 5 pages! Blimey Grin
Thank you cherries for starting a new one on our lovely never ending hushista stories...

ilovecherries · 05/09/2019 18:40

soups, it was a tribal area in rural India, living with the local community. No internet or phone calls the entire time. 😬. I was frantic about her health, but actually she came back looking amazing.

twosoups1972 · 05/09/2019 19:02

@cherries that sounds amazing, what a wonderful thing to do. I don't think dd is ready to go that far afield just yet.

SoyYo · 05/09/2019 19:33

Finally caught up!

laska I love your Japanese Toast look with grey jumper and your dying project is really pukka! Really love that deep navy blue. The cord culottes are also great and will be so useful in winter, I prefer with chunky loafers and the lace up boots 👍 you don’t have to wear tights with the loafers you can get knee highs these days in all kind of patterns/denier to go with the loafers. Keep! (I’m going to have a wee look at Boden sale too so thanks for the heads up on the code), and I’m super pleased you’ve decided to stop work in November. Freedom beckons Wink

soover love your haul too, I have a Beatrice jumper and it’s great. The long cardigan looked fabulous with the white jeans and your kitty and old dog are adorable. Do stick around there’s always lovely chat and companionship on this thread Smile

justi oh dear! Orange dye disaster! Grin How about trying to dye the linen again if you can’t bear it? Though you could make it work with some bright fuschia cushions in a pink/orange fashion kind of vibe (I love the combo and wearing the Hush orange/pink t shirt which really cheers me up every time I do)

never loving the chunky trainers! I think I need some in my life

cherries did you make any decisions on your coat? I’d say go with your heart, and it sounds to me like it needs a different new chunky winter coat. Both looked great in any case.

soups what a conundrum! I say let DD do whatever makes her happy. Neither of my boys did a gap year and I wish they had done, but she may not be ready to fly the nest just yet? The idea of doing a shorter summer stint in US may just be enough for her.

Great to see you back nink! Hope DD is doing well now and you’ve got so many exciting things to look forward to later this year (including your wedding!) that hopefully that’ll help you stay on the no spend bench.

len you’re always so kind and I truly admire your iron determination not to spend. How are DD/DSIL and DGD settling into the temporary flat?

Ella great inspiration pics and the trousers are great, they reminded me of a similar pair I used to own in my teens! A loooong time ago now

My Hush parcel arrived late afternoon but remains unopened as I’ve been on an emotional rollercoaster lately and today I needed to rest. So I’m saving it for tomorrow when I’ll report back Wink

Laska2Meryls · 05/09/2019 20:02

Ella Ive been thinking that those cords could look really good with a Meryl jumper ! I wonder where I could get one or 2 GrinWink

soy Glad you approve! I cannot say for sure if that was mine or yours that I dyed.. But its looking good now it has dried..

Laska2Meryls · 05/09/2019 20:03

Soy Flowers I hope you are feeling a (little) bit better ..

Laska2Meryls · 05/09/2019 20:05

soover I love those Jigsaw boots, they look just the thing!

Huffthepuff · 05/09/2019 20:09

@Ninkaninus I think when Soups and I bought our Aurora bags the only option was the darker red. I bought my dsis the cosmetic bag in red and was surprised that it was in a brighter red leather. I presumed they would be the same. I think this is what they are now offering as Ferrari red for the bag. Having seen the two colours alongside each other I prefer the deeper red. It looks more expensive. I'm also on the no spend bench but hoping to slip off briefly at the end of the month once my (expensive) holiday is done. I've got loads I want to buy! I love autumn/winter

Fab trousers Laska! Love them with the lace up boots!

justilou1 · 05/09/2019 20:15

@SoyYo - I have decided to see if I like living with the colour first, and see if it picks my mood up a bit. If I loathe it, I will dye them all olive or charcoal. While I didn’t get the colour I wanted, they’re nice and evenly done!!!

Ninkaninus · 05/09/2019 20:15

Thanks Huff that confirms what I was thinking. Now to wait for a massive discount.........

👋 to Soy. — yes there is much to look forward to and in the meantime I’m going to make sure to ‘shop my wardrobe’ and make good use of all the lovely things I already have.

Laska2Meryls · 05/09/2019 20:15

Im glad the lace up boots are winning votes, I think they do look good, but its a bit difficult taking a photo bending over to show them ,, I think they are my top ones and esp for my actual lifestyle.. The smooth leather heels (real 1980s vintage boots) would be great for dressier occasions though (if I ever had any) . I have never managed to chuck those boots as they were stonkingly expensive Jones boots , (and I was pretty brassic at the time.) I loved them at the time, , but TBH, now , heels and me .. we just dont go these days ..

Laska2Meryls · 05/09/2019 20:19

Noooooooo !! Just!! Olive or Charcoal wont work over orange ! Really.. you have to think colour mixing like paint with dye.. You could get away with burgundy though .. (or brown, but who wants brown sheets ? Grin)

twosoups1972 · 05/09/2019 20:56

@laska I agree - definitely the trainers and lace up boots.

@Ellapaella thanks for posting those photos, agree with @neveradullmoment99 that the black brogues and socks look great! I have some black thick jersey culottes that I love but never quite sure what shoes to wear with them. I have some black patent brogues so might try them.

twosoups1972 · 05/09/2019 21:02

So reporting back on Hush purchases -

Rocket skirt - gorgeous, really love it. But it's only a size 8 and even with the shirred waistband, it's a little snug. I'm going to keep an eye out in case the 10 comes back into stock. Think it would work well both summer (trainers or sandals) and winter (tights and boots).

Star hoop earrings - really lovely, I love Hush earrings

V-neck wide jersey top - no! I know they are so popular on here but I can't get them to work at all. Makes me look very top heavy. So it's going back.

Ophelia scarf - this is really beautiful. But I'm not sure - I have soooo many scarves and £45 is not cheap. Still deciding.

twosoups1972 · 05/09/2019 21:04

@SoyYo lovely to see you back on here and thank you for your kind words. Hope you get plenty of R&R tonight and look forward to hearing about your Hush purchases Flowers

dontcallmelen · 05/09/2019 21:08

Lovely haul Soover
Ella really like those trousers, I do like mango as the stuff usually fits me better, just wish they did petites. I have a shedload of stuff waiting to be altered (has a little pity party by myself, just want longer legs😂)
Never brogues are fab👍🏼
Laska yy the lace boots, think it’s something you may have to play around with as well, maybe the thicker socks/opaques do look good on you though.
Soy glad you feeling better, dd etc settling ok but dgd wants to be at Nana’s as she loves me more than chocolate lollipops💕 stripping out of the flat hasn’t even started yet, insurance company are being very very slow so I can see them being at the rented place for longer than six months at this rate.
Soups dd will find her way, maybe suggest some options & see where it may lead her, try not to worry it will work out💐
cherries what amazing adventures for dd not so great for you mind with 24/7 worrying.

dontcallmelen · 05/09/2019 21:10

Just 😱 don’t fancy brown sheets, listen Laska Queen of Dylon
Hello anyone I have missed.

twosoups1972 · 05/09/2019 21:28

@melen your DGD sounds totally adorable. Having a higher ranking than chocolate lollipops is indeed a fantastic accolade Smile

Ellapaella · 05/09/2019 21:56

@neveradullmoment99 some inspiration for your brogues when they arrive. I really love the cords, socks and brogues look!
