Looks lovely Never! Is that a Toast dress underneath? 😍

I've caved and ordered the satin skirt from M&S as well... plus this Autograph top

www.marksandspencer.com/velvet-relaxed-fit-t-shirt/p/p60285592?color=BURGUNDY

Oops sorry Soyyo! Brora is just gorgeous. I want everything on the website. Does that mean you can refer me as a new customer? I think it's £20 off for both sides if you can. Hope the blouses you've ordered are lovely! To be honest I can't afford to get anything from them this month. Have bought far too much already.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2019 11:34

Yes, it is - well spotted.
Me too. I have just been paid and most of it will be going out!!! So its a no spend now. Absolutely cannot buy ANYTHING else. Going to do a bit of ebay selling to compensate!

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2019 11:35

That is a beautiful top @huff and thank you for your comments about the coat.

Sooverthemill · 27/09/2019 11:36

@Huffthepuff that velvet t shirt is lovely.
Welcome med. I haven't shopped in London for several years but my all time favourite favourite place to shop in London is Liberty on Regent Street ( and therefore next to Carnaby Street and near Oxford Circus). They have such a huge range of clothing, jewellery, scarves etc and you can have afternoon tea! I could actually live in Liberty. Also ( although I have no idea what your budget might be so my suggestions may just be gorgeous places for inspiration) Browns is fabulous (south molton street the Bond Street end of oxford street or a walk from liberty through soho). Also just mooch around Covent Garden, soho ( great vintage shops) and the back bit behind oxford street . Obviously there is Selfridges but I haven't been there for years and years. Enjoy!

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2019 11:36

In that picture I am very toast-esque as I had socks on with the brogues. Wouldn't go out wearing it with socks though. Its way too out there for me. Was going to pop tights on!

SoyYo · 27/09/2019 11:39

It’s a great plain shape never and I don’t think too formal but agree you should have a 12 as nothing worse than a winter coat that feels to snug with many layers underneath.
On the price it’s not bad for the high wool content tbh so it’s really cost per wear and knowing how much you love your other brown coat...the only word of caution is if you can bear to wait till later in the season I reckon they will reduce to just above the £100 mark which would make it a no brainer and since you already own other marvellous coats to see you through then it may be worth hanging on once you are sure the 12 is right for you, I will probably order the blue version which I love love once it’s reduced a bit more (but yes run the risk of it going ooo before).
The Toast dress you’re wearing is also marvellous

Ellapaella · 27/09/2019 11:43

@neveradullmoment99 sorry I missed where the coat is from? Is it Hush? Looks lovely.

NotAnActualSheep · 27/09/2019 11:44

Hello all - just a quick wave and catch up as I'm trying to finish off a tedious work thing.

Just wanted to say a quick hello to medb . Can't help on London shops I'm afraid. I like a rummage around anthropologie (they sometimes have sales...), cos and oliver bonas if i get the chance. They are high-streety, but a bit more quirky. Joy is a bit hit and miss but not been to one for years. I think I was put off because they had a branch in a not-especially-upmarket shopping centre near where I used to work, and I just got the impression it was a teenager-y polyester boutique, but they definitely seem to have upped (or at least, varied!) their game. I have last year's version of the dionne (green leopard print) and like it a lot. It is polyester but doesn't feel cheap to me - it hangs nicely, and isn't a static disaster etc. It is just below knee length on me (5'6") - the lining hits my knee but its got a chiffon layer which goes lower. However, I think a lot will depend on how it sits on your waist...I sized up to my "normal" high st size to get it to fit my hips, but it does then sit quite low on my waist, so may be longer than it is supposed to be iyswim. have attached a photo I took last year...

I really need to learn to knit. Would save me a fortune... Love some of those new toast things... Pity the toast cropped trousers weren't too successful, though. I have the long version of the cropped ones (wide leg) and agree they are comparatively small on the waist compared to many of their trousers. Really wish they would sort sizing!

Lovely coat never - it looks so useful and really smart. I usually size up for coats like that too - 'cos of the jumper thing as you say, and also because I spend a lot of time sitting down on buses etc it really annoys me if long coats are tight on my lap!

Right. Back to work...

Huff you are on a velvet roll 👏👏👏 the colour is super!
It’s weird on Brora because after I paid as a guest the site was supposed to allow me to register a new customer account but it didn’t do it 🤷‍♀️ I’m being contacted by my boss about work panic right now so I’ve just started up my laptop to help (I know im on sick leave but won’t take more than an hour or so).
When I’ve got rid of pesky work panic I’ll contact Brora to ask if they can help with account to recommend a friend 👌
soover great suggestion! Liberty is magnificent and I could take out a mortgage and buy the whole shop!
In fact one of my Brora sale shirts is a liberty print (will link later) I just couldn’t resist...

Sooverthemill · 27/09/2019 11:56

@soyyo I forgot Anthropologie is in London now! I've only ever shopped in the NYC one ( arent I posh? But was in a cafe with the whole family sitting next to a lovely group of mum friends who befriend youngest DD ( cute, blonde, coy) and they gave us a list of places that they reckoned were off the tourist track but insisted we go to Anthropologie with eldest DD. Every recommendation was a spot on including the best ever Chinese Cuban diner)

Huffthepuff · 27/09/2019 12:05

Oh no @SoyYo don't go to the trouble!! Honestly I can't afford to shop at Brora so please don't add this to your to do list. Such a shame you have to work. I hope you manage to sort it soon

twosoups1972 · 27/09/2019 12:06

@neveradullmoment99 I LOVE that pendant, looks much more expensive. Really unusual and stylish.

Welcome @medb22 we’re a friendly bunch, look forward to chatting Smile

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2019 12:15

Its a rip off from butler and Wilson

neveradullmoment99 · 27/09/2019 12:16

I love the original but not got £60 to spare on a necklace!

twosoups1972 · 27/09/2019 14:10

Right, 5 mins sit down for me after rushing dd1 to the station, food shopping, taking dd2 to her ankle appointment and then back to school. And cooking!

@neveradullmoment99 I like your version MORE than the original! Love the blue tear.

Lots of lovely skirts and all the velvet - gorgeous! Velvet is just so tactile and lovely for the autumn/winter. I have a navy blue velvet Massimo Dutti blazer but I've only worn it once. Can't seem to make it work somehow.

twosoups1972 · 27/09/2019 14:18

@medb22 I live in London Smile

I have seen Joy around (think there is one in Islington), I've never bought anything there but I've had a browse, they have some nice stuff, definitely worth a look.

Whereabouts are you staying? Have you seen Oliver Bonas before? It IS high street but not as well known as others, have a look at their website...?

I would agree Regent Street is lovely for shopping. Much nicer than Oxford Street which can feel a bit tacky. Although the big John Lewis near Oxford Circus is definitely worth a look. I'm not too clued up on smaller individual shops I'm afraid.

Also, depending on where you're staying, Hampstead is lovely for shopping. Mostly high street stores, eg Hobbs, Brandy Melville (for the yoof Grin), Kurt Geiger for shoes, think there is an Oliver Bonas there, Dinny Hall for lovely jewellery etc....but there are also some less well known brands. Lots of lovely cafes and a great Waterstones.

twosoups1972 · 27/09/2019 14:21

I'm still waiting for my Toast parcel! Are they usually slow?

ilovecherries · 27/09/2019 14:29

Sales time Toast are terribly slow, soups. Right, I’m off to start a new thread!
